    Another great review! This vehicle is the perfect size that it does not look like a boat like the Escalade and other large SUVs. Very posh and swanky looking but with uber steller capabilities and strong predicted reliability. That in itself will fetch a much higher resale value than any other in this class when time to trade in or upgrade.

    Disappointing to see Lexus cut their interior budget. I've sat in a few RXes and ESes and there were always a few hard surfaces and cheap hinges, but I thought the L-series vehicles were immune from cheaping out. The only manufacturer with good interior quality and high reliability seem to be Mazda and Acura. Unfortunately for off-road luxury enthusiasts, the MDX and eventual CX-90 are in a different class than the LX. That basically leaves Land Rover, Cadillac, and Lincoln to cover large luxury off-roaders, and their reliability is the opposite of Lexus.

    So the point pretty much is lexus has done a really good job in tech stuff and engine fuel economy and riding quality but needs to work on cargo storage and 3rd row and a bit of their interaction stuff. 2022 lexus lx 8/10 but guys keep in mind this is their first year for this new lx so maybe next year some of this stuff will improve and lexus lx will be 10/10 because what you are getting for the price is decent but could be better I also was expecting the chime that's in the nx

    • @faeinthebay
      @faeinthebay 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think packaging will always be compromised because the LX is body-on-frame and has to be *just* small enough to fit in European and Asian countries. I'm glad they tried to improve its MPG despite the inherent compromises of its boxy shape, but interior space might be more difficult. I'd so suggest the Lexus RX-L as an alternative but we know its rear legroom is also terrible, so I guess that leaves the American luxury manufacturers.

At 100K plus an Escalade, I think would be more practical as an on-road large family luxury cruiser, for those that go off the beaten path the new Range Rovers I'm sure are up to the task. As a great balance of quality, luxury and driving dynamics I'm sure the new BMW X7 will find many homes as a great all-rounder at these price points.

    Whats more comfortable for a long drive G Wagon, Merc S-Class or Lexus LX600?

    • @asimrc
      @asimrc ปีที่แล้ว

      The S-Class has a more luxurious interior with more legroom and headroom, as well as a more comfortable ride. The LX600 is a close second, with a spacious interior and a comfortable ride. The G-Wagon is the least comfortable of the three, with a cramped interior and a bumpy ride.
      Here is a more detailed comparison of the three cars:
      Mercedes-Benz S-Class
      Pros:
      Luxurious interior
      Comfortable ride
      Long list of standard features
      Cons:
      Expensive
      Not as off-road capable as the G-Wagon or LX600
      Lexus LX600
      Pros:
      Spacious interior
      Comfortable ride
      V8 engine provides plenty of power
      Cons:
      Not as luxurious as the S-Class
      Expensive
      Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon
      Pros:
      Rugged and capable off-road
      V8 engine provides plenty of power
      Cons:
      Cramped interior
      Bumpy ride
      Expensive
      Ultimately, the best car for a long drive is the one that best suits your needs and budget. If you're looking for the most luxurious and comfortable ride, the S-Class is the way to go. If you need a car that can handle off-road terrain, the G-Wagon is a good option. And if you're looking for a car that's somewhere in between, the LX600 is a great choice.

    "not as refined or smooth as the V8 but that's OK in the name of fuel economy" nice way to carry water for Lexus. It's not in any way "OK".

    • @faeinthebay
      @faeinthebay 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lexus has to keep hitting fuel economy targets, so it's not like they can keep the V8. And even luxury owners will appreciate farther cruising range. For example, I often drive my Genesis 200 miles down California to see my boyfriend on the weekends. Even with its generous 18+ gallon tank, I have to refill on the way back since it only gets 21 mpg. If it got 25+ mpg I could refill the next morning when it's more convenient. So I'm becoming mighty tempted to abandon the NA V6 for a muffled-sounding turbo model to get better fuel economy.
