It’s actually not super reliable. There’s a reason why it’s the first thing anyone changes when modifying these trucks for off road use.

@@jokesta217 I’ll rephrase the tech is catching up but UI is dated. Just recently they added apple and android auto. Which is just software and they took years.
Biggest takeaway is the interior quality. Cheap plastics and dated design. Lexus IS doing a lot better in the past 2 years. But toyota is the one that bothers me. Compare the interior of the 2020 Tundra to the 2011 Tundra. Then compare the 2020 Tundra to a 2020 Ram 1500. It’s like looking at a time machine. Just hate companies that won’t improve its interior for over a decade and then charge premium prices and consumers all want it because it’ll run forever. On a side not I love the Landcruiser. That I’ll take around the world. Buy used if you want a Toyota. Buy new for most other brands.

One note regarding the lack of a touchscreen, particularly when entering a destination address. Remember the vehicle has Alexa capable voice recognition. You simply tell it you want to enter a destination. It will ask for the address. You then just tell it where you want to go. I’ve only had one time where it did not respond correctly. You can ask other questions like, “Where is the nearest Wells Fargo Bank” and a list will appear. While you do get used to the infotainment system after a short while, I find voice command the least mentioned feature in most reviews and it can replace most manual entries. The placement of the LX screen is perfect for me, because it is recessed in the dash. This extra distancing makes it easier for me to read (without my readers). Reliability is almost always mentioned re the LX and appropriately so. Here is a small update on my LX and friends who bought different SUVs
My 2019 LX - one unplanned trip to Lexus for repair. required a HVAC reboot I might have been able to do myself, was fixed before I got back to work in my loaner. Fix covered by warranty, loaner provided.
Friends 2019 - Jeep Grand Cherokee Trail Rated overland. Love that Hemi but 6 unplanned trips to dealer for fixes (suspension and NAV/HVAC related). Nav still not working correctly. All fixes were covered by warranty, loaner sometimes provided.
Friends 2019- Mercedes GLE-350 - 3 unplanned trips to dealer for fixes. One involved an oil leak (around engine) which required substantial repair. All fixes were covered by warranty, loaner provided.
It’s a little soon to call these “long-term” reliability ratings but I will try to keep you posted.
I am still a little unclear on the differences between the LX and Land Cruiser suspension set up. I have Auto Height Control while the Land Cruiser has the KDSS system. Aside from slightly more suspension travel in the LC, I’ve not heard much about other differences or their advantages/disadvantage.

A $100,000 dinosaur. Love that! I'm old, and I LOVE old-school tech, analog gauges, transmission and transfer case levers, instead of buttons and dials, and most importantly, "old-school" reliability. My Lotto dream vehicle would be the equally 'old-school' Toyota Sequoia (as I fell in love after driving one during a long weekend). This LX570 would be my second choice.
If you're the type who likes to drive a car 10+ years (trouble-free), then Lexus IS the way to go. And, I think what makes Lexus/Toyota as successful as they are, is that, historically, they do NOT go leaping head first into new technology, and I'm VERY cool with that. What (the hell) is wrong with analog gauges? If you can afford a $100,000 vehicle, chances are you've been driving for a while, and do not 'need' "lane departure" this, and "radar controlled" that, and all manner of super-expensive to repair bells and whistles.
I've never owned a Lexus, but I have relatives who do, and they swear by Lexus and would not buy anything else. There's a REASON that Mercedes, BMW's, and Audi's spend an inordinate amount of time in the shop after the first 4 or 5 years.

I can tell you from experience. The LX is the most comfortable car compared to its competitors.
Granted I haven't been in the competing vehicles, but knowing how the sedans compete the SUVs compete on a similar level.
I drove a tesla model y and then a lexus LX, the LX was so much more comfortable and smooth while the tesla was Jerky and quick.

Toyota all day over the others. Why? Because Toyota. I dive a 4Runner, I don’t worry about reliability or my warranty. I don’t worry about resale value and I don’t worry about parts availability. I don’t care about the fact that it’s got less tech than the competition. The aforementioned reasons far outweigh the gizmos in other cars that are sure to break at some future point in time.

OLD, Beautiful, Expensive, Capable, and Reliable. Kinda sounds like your 4Runner, for A LOT less money, Ryan.. GX(1st or 2nd Gen) or a 4th Gen 4Runner limited 4.7L V8 is the way to go if you need that V8, IMO.

I own one and have no problems with the infotainment center, I also don't have an iPhone so the apple car play doesn't come in to play. So I guess is you want to air your gripes about the Lexus this is the perfect format. The strengths of this vehicle is quality of construction, quality of materials, and quality of engineering. So since gadgets are your thing, this won't appeal to the type of person you appear to be
