  • Discus hernia (slipped discs) or protrusions are the basis for getting sciatica
Lower back pain is most commonly found in people who do not move sufficiently; therefore, they have a lack of physical activity and are mainly sedentary, resulting in weakness and insufficient use of muscles, which can lead to deformities on the spinal column such as scoliosis , kyphosis or lordosis. It can also happen to people who accidentally fall from a certain height to the hip or lumbar part of the back that often happens to athletes.
This injuries usually lead to injury or deformity of the disc (protrusions or discus hernia), most often between the last lumbar and the first sacral vertebrae (L5 S1).
Such injuries can lead to slipped disc and cause the appearance of sciatica. It manifests itself through pain in the lumbar-sacral part of the back that is then transmitted to the gluteus (usually on the upper part), it can go down the biceps femoris or the hamstrings all the way to the toes.
The main question the people who have this problem ask is how to stop the pain. If the pain is severe and too intense, you should take medication to relax your nerves and muscles; you should begin with your exercises at the moment when you do not experience huge pain. Initially, exercises that are extremely simple and not difficult are performed, they primarily serve to relax and unlock the sciatica. When the pain stops completely, we start with the exercises that serve to strengthen the muscles that are important for the prevention of re-occurence of pain.
People who have this problem shouldn't have an inactive way of life; they must exercise two times a week minimum so the pain wouldn't return.
