So thankful to know you, your family, and team are okay, Beth. I’ve been praying for you ever since Helene hit and was worried for your safety. I was so thrilled to see your replies to concerns and prayers. I live in Washington state now, but I grew up in South Carolina and spent many summer weekends at an uncle’s cabin in Bat Cave, NC. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure were familiar areas, and part of what made those family times so special. Asheville was also a destination at times with ice cream cones at Biltmore. Thank you for all of the delightful videos you have brought us. They have kept me in touch with my roots!
Awhhhh. I am also so glad to hear from you. Yes, we are safe. We do not have power or water or Wi-Fi or cell service really but I am finding it here and there. It’s taking a while to get a new video out but on Saturday at 11 AM we have a show! I am so glad you can see the places that are so dear to your heart. Thank you so much for your comment.
I think your videos of the small towns will become a sort of historical record of those towns, many which may not be rebuilt. Your videos may be more important than you know.
Hi Beth. Hope you and your loved ones are safe. The devastation is absolutely terrible. We know what you’re all going through. We’re in SW Florida and were thankfully mostly spared this time around. We’re thinking of everyone in Western NC and everywhere else that was so heavily impacted….it’s so sad. Take care everyone❤️
I have to say we never expected this. Even with all the warnings, we still thought that it would be no big deal. Now we know what you all go through. It must be terrifying. Thank you so much for your well wishes. I appreciate your comment.
Beth, I have been enjoying your videos for the last few months. Although I don’t know you and you don’t know me…please know that I have been praying for you and your family and hoping y’all are ok and that your home is as well. We love Asheville (spent our honeymoon there) and we are so sad for all the loss. We live in Myrtle Beach and are no strangers to hurricanes. We love all of WNC and spend a good bit of time in the Blowing Rock and Boone area each year. We were actually in a campground between Sylva and Waynesville last week (to celebrate our anniversary) because of all of your videos of your beautiful area. We finally decided to evacuate on Thursday and I am grateful we did. We almost didn’t because we are kind of use to hurricanes here at home but my husband and I finally agreed that we don’t know squat about hurricanes in the mountains and the Asheville weather forecasters kept saying historic flooding and high winds and since we were on a creek in our RV…we thought…hmm… maybe we should listen. Good thing because many roads we traveled on were partially gone several hours later and a creek/river flooded our campground that night. I sure hope your family is doing ok. The devastation is so dramatic and I know your heart hurts because mine sure does and I am just a visitor. I continue to be in disbelief at the images. Take care and y’all will rebuild because that is what we do in the south after a hurricane! Stay strong and know that lots of prayers are coming your way and so many people in Myrtle Beach are digging deep for supplies and they are coming that way! Blessings, Jill
I appreciate hearing this so much. Thank you so much for your prayers. They definitely work. We are safe and the living in Asheville team is safe. There are people that are not though. People that lived really far out on dirt roads that have trees that have fallen and blocked their path to supplies. People who homes directly on the river have lost their homes and if they decided to stay with those homes throughout the hurricane, they may have also lost their lives. It’s a debit and stating time for Asheville, but there is a lot of hope and love here as well. I am so glad that you made the decision to leave when you did. We are rebuilding. We will be OK and we will be strong later. 💖
Sending you, your family and loved ones; as well as, your entire area/community MUCH Love, protection, strength, comfort and healing-my heartfelt prayers go out to all of you- God Bless!!! 😇🙏🕊️🌈💖💫
Thank you so very much. It has been overwhelmingly beautiful to see our community. Come together to help one another. We are all in this thing together. Thank you for your well wishes.
We’ve been watching your videos for weeks, and were preparing to visit all of the towns around Asheville for a week this month. Thanks for everything, but we just hit a wall in that ambition. Best wishes to all in the area.
Thank you so very much. We are safe, but a lot of people are going through really hard time right now. The sense of community is overwhelming though, and we are banding together for each other.
Yes, I am OK. My family is OK and the team is OK. There are many in the area that are not as fortunate. With the flooding and the amount of rivers that we have here there are some parts that are destroyed. Parts of Swannanoa and downtown Marshall and chimney rock are not recognizable right now. We are boots on the ground helping people get the supplies that they need and doing everything that we can make sure our neighbors and community is safe. Thank you so much for your love and support and for checking on us.
What?! Never heard of the band, Bread? I’m shocked and appalled. Check out the album “The Best of Bread”. You’ll become a fan. Guaranteed or your money back.
I think Bread is a little before Beth's time, and even though in their day (early '70s) they had a few hits, for some reason they were forgotten and no one talks about them or plays them now. She definitely should check them out though, if you like soft rock and singer-songwriter type stuff, they were really good!
We just filmed it last week. We are safe thank you so much. There’s been a lot of damage, but for the most part we are without electric and water for the time being. Lots of Crews are coming into help immediately.
Hi Beth. I hope you're safe. My brother and family are in Asheville. Had hopes of moving to WNC. I guess that's on hold. Stay safe and praying for y'all.
Spent all of September in northeast Asheville and luckily was able to find a back way out today as the bridge leading into our section was washed away. It's a mammoth disaster. Trees down everywhere...flooding, no Internet/cell service within hours. It's gonna be a long haul for the residents.
Does anyone know how the roads are in Brevard around December and during the winter time aside from the Helene but just in general how the roads are to drive on? Full of ice or anything?
@ Awesome! Thank you for responding. I’m from Georgia, about 40 minutes south of Atlanta and my town and the surrounding towns never get ice or snow. We celebrate when we see one flurry falling down. Lol
I'm so happy you did a Brevard video!!! I'm planning a trip there soon. My family is from Brevard and they still live there but as much as I've been to NC I have never been to Brevard so I am really looking forward to it. My Mom and I love your videos. You have a way of making us feel like we're already there in NC and I love that. We are looking into making NC our official home one day. I hope you and your family are safe and well from the storm. I am keeping the entire state in my thoughts and prayers. Looking forward to more videos. ❤
Thank you so much. It’s been a while ride but we are making it through. OK. Our biggest concern is making sure everybody else is OK at this point. Yes, Brevard is one of those smaller towns that always captures my heart every time I visit. It always makes me one to move there too.
Just got back home today after a month in Asheville. It's truly a disaster. They may not have running water for two weeks...bridges out all over the place.
Some areas are flooded anywhere that was near the French Broad River or this one our our river got hit hard. Anyone a little higher up is fine for the most part. Thank you so much.
She lives in Asheville she absolutely knows what’s going on. I think it’s good they went with a scheduled post because it shows the beauty of before and now the destruction after.

we were going to head to NC next week! Hope you and all are safe, can’t believe the devastation 😢 Take care x

I remember listening to the song Aubrey on the radio and singing along. 😊 It made driving an AMC Hornet a little more bearable.

@livinginasheville glad you're ok!
It was atmospheric, unique, and now it's all gone. Will it come back?
It definitely will…. We will rebuild and continue.

No, not too icy. The last 2 winters have been pretty mild.

Looks like God is sending Asheville a message.
Wow, the hell does that mean?
Wow, that's inappropriate. And also wrong. How about a little kindness instead of judgment?
Not cool.
