1. How long does the color last?
-The dark gray color lasted me 3 weeks, and that’s with only washing my hair twice a weeks with COLD water and purple shampoo. After those 3 weeks it started fading into a more silver color and then eventually to a cool blonde. The color will only last if you do ur part of maintaining it! Which is wash with cold water, and purple shampoo. If you want longer lasting results, there is a permanent version of the same product. I have a video where I tried but to me the results lasted the same amount of time as the demi one 🤷🏼♀️
2. The color didn’t show up on my hair what do i do?
-In order to get a dark gray color to show up on ur hair, u need a pretty light base to start on. Your hair needs to be at least a level 9 for the color to show up on your hair. If your hair is more of a golden blonde u might want to do another bleaching session before going gray!
3. Did it make your hair green?
-No it didn’t. When you first apply it on your hair it looks a bit green but don’t panic! the color gets darker the more it develops. Also, it’ll only turn your hair green if you have yellow on your hair. Since the product is blue based, you have to make sure your hair is toned and yellow free before using so that it doesn’t turn green!

bebe rocs oh no ma’am! I would not recommend bleaching your hair twice in a day 🤧 what i meant is lighten the hair to the desired level, pre-tone to get rid of the yellow, and then apply chrome (:

Grey is such a pretty shade, but once again, hard to maintain. Your hair looks much much prettier in that grey shade. Blonde, goldens & ash colors have become so common. Grey is fabulous !

My hair us light ash brown. I think this works better on blonde hair. I like dark grey, but going from lt. Ash Brown to dark grey isn't going to work ...😫😫😫😫😫😫😫 don't know what go do at this point. I don't want to use bleached on my scalp. The less chemicals the better.

Thank you! I wash my hair with cold water only and I usually leave in my purple shampoo for about 10-15 mins, that’s rlly all i do to maintain the color!! After about a month and a half it does fade into an ash blonde tho

Thanks, I am over sixty and been dyeing my hair blue black ion demi for ten years. Since I am recovering from surgery I thought this is the perfect time to bleach & tone down my hair. Then I wanted to see what my hair looks like before I know exactly what color I want. This 7VA Chrome is what I want hopefully my silver will look natural. Just need the purple mask. Oh, and the reason I like demi is because there is no harsh line it just fades until you realize you have to color again. That's why I use demi. And the reason why I use Ion is that it is the best box color for us non professional. From one who had been coloring her hair 15 years & not only blue black. And girls check if you are a cool or warm tone. My darling daughter was brought up on cool tone clothing color to find out she is a warm tone. The difference is that she looks healthy when wearing her warm tones not my cool tones. Oh well:)

Do i need to bleach my hair before? Or can i do it over my brown hair with maybe 30 developer ?
What would happen if I used a 30 developer instead of 10? It would be a lighter gray instead of a dark gray right? The color really suits you btw 🥺🥰
g M0 using a 30 vol developer will lift your hair up to 2-3 levels so yes it wouldn’t be that same dark gray! using a 10 vol developer or even something lower like a 5 vol will help just deposit the pigment on your hair with no lift ((:
If it's 7VA that means it's a Violet base, not blue like the gal said. The VA literally stands for Violet/Ash. 👍
Violet is purple but Ash is blue based, so actually it contains both purple and blue.

So this is 2yrs later but I hope u see my comment & can help me lol..I have med to dark brown hair with naturally silver strands thru out..its not completely even some places have more then others..I was wanting to dye it grey or silver with some purple highlights n it..do I need to bleach my hair,color it grey & brush on purple highlights all n one day or is this a process..I never color my hair so idk a whole lot about it..by the way your hair turned out beautiful..
To try to go grey, IS a process. You have to bleach your hair till it's a platinum blonde. I would suggest waiting a few weeks in between the bleaching, just so u don't fry your hair. Don't do it all in one day, otherwise your hair WILL fall out. Hope that helps 👍

my hair had about a 2 week old faded toner, i didn’t feel the need to tone first since my hair was already pretty pale but i would definitely suggest toning first to get rid of any yellow/gold tones before applying the gray (: and as for how many bleaching sessions i did i honestly lost count🤕 maybe 3-4?? it was a year long process going from level 2 hair to the pale blonde i had, my natural hair is super dark so it took a while to get me that light!

The gray color lasted me 3 weeks (maintaining it with purple shampoo) and by the 4th week it faded into a subtle silvery blonde and now it’s faded into a more icy blonde without using any toners other than my purple shampoo. If you want longer lasting results Sally’s has the same exact product but a permanent color version, this one’s just the Demi (:
