He was in ~33rd place when it popped, and likely to climb higher. This is based on him finishing 72nd and being passed a net of ~39 times after the flat. I use approximate symbol (~) because i may have missed a passing or two while camera was down or if i got distracted for a sec. Just watching this made me tired and upset.

2/3s?! It was half way and then the end he has his tube wrapped around his rear sprocket! I am extremely impressed the rubber never came off on all the various turns and with speed! This guy is my new hero! Despite the inevitable falls and trip ups it wouldn’t hurt to carry a knife! Well done survivor

yes we know a slowed heart rate improves accuracy with a rifle, but is there anyone in this video shown to be engaged in an active theater of war? No, this video is purely for sport.
So lets go back to what Drawn said. If you deprive your body of oxygen from physical activity, your rate of breathing goes up to accommodate the bodies need for greater supply of oxygen which is why the heartrate increases in order to pump blood throughout your body faster so that the hemoglobin in the blood can carry that oxygen to replenish your body faster. People who are more fit are able to stabilize their breathing more rapidly than obese people who can't run around the block without passing out or collapsing due to exhaustion. The last thing you would want to do is artificially deprive your body of oxygen by slowing your breathing. Yes we know this slows the heart rate so you can have greater accuracy as a rifle marksman, but nobody in this video is trying to fire any guns. Dawn was just trying to say that how rapidly a person can stabilize their breathing is in fact a really good measure of how fit that person is. Video is about downhill offroad biking. That's all. None of this "Enemy at the Gates" type of rifle sniping is going here. Your "In The Army Now with Pauly Shore" type of comment doesn't belong on this video.

I like how considerate this guy is, he lets others go first and goes on the side so others can pass knowing he would be slower with a damaged bike and also cleans the camera lens from time to time for us
