The light frames in the basement will be great. I can't wait to see the girls pictures. I have to admit that seeing you forgot to clean the shower, makes me like you even more. My house is not dirty but lived in. I live in a condo, so storage is a huge issue, and seeing your storage room made you feel like a kindred spirit to me.

Personally, I would add some pops of red (the OS colors) into your basement space either through paint, an OS wall decal or mascot decal, sports jerseys, throw blankets, etc. I would also consider adding in a popcorn machine, boxes of candy, a basket with some single serving bags of chips or a variety of different snacks for when you are sitting down there watching a game or a movie. Give it a total sports bar | movie theater vibe. Over in the bar area you could do some type of neon sign to add to the overall aesthetic. The way that it is currently is just very subtle and I think there are so many more elements that could be brought in and added to elevate the space and really give it the sports themed vibe that you are truly wanting.

I feel the same passion for budgeting that you feel for cleaning! I like to do sinking funds when I'm doing a large purchase. For example, my husband Matt is going to Vegas next week for work and he's staying a few extra days to have a golf and gambling trip with his brother and friends. He told me he'd like $2K for spending and gambling. He first found out about the trip 10 months ago, so I put $200 per month into a separate account for him. Now it's time for the trip and we don't have to worry about anything out of pocket! I do it with all large purchases; our recent Europe trip, Brynn's trip to Costa Rica, cars (I don't use loans; we're totally debt-free as of last December, including our houses!), appliances, you name it! It's an adrenaline rush to me to see how little I can live on, how small I can make the grocery budget, etc, ESPECIALLY with how awful prices are for everything. I'm extremely lucky and have a great job in finance and a husband who also has a great job. I know that others have it so much more difficult. Budgeting for other people is how I feel like I can help others in a small way, just like your cleaning channel helps all of us, too :) Love you, Jamie!

Life isn’t a highlight, there’s closets that doors are closed on (I have a few on my list!!), there’s unfinished organization/rooms, and real life human interactions. We all have highs & lows, I appreciate you sharing yours and your journey in a new home. We have been in our “new” home for 3 years and there are still projects I haven’t got to, you make me remember it’s not a race it’s a process and life happens. I have 3 grand kids (ages 10 and 2 - 5year Olds, not twins) I asked them to do their favorite pose and they had so much fun. I got a gymnastics, Spiderman, hand on hip with head tilted and knee bent. It is EXACTLY their personality. They are large prints above our couch. I love that you are doing that.

The basement looks awesome. I would do black frames. It would pull from the wall next to that one. I think the light wool is a good idea but will look washed out with such a thin frame and white mat. If the frame was chunky I would maybe use the wood to tie in the bar shelves. But I think they’re too thin to make an impact. I would do the entertainment center in wood. I don’t think it would be too distracting. I do think black will just disappear to the wall. I would do the tray in wood. Maybe add a basket in the corner to the right of the tv for blankets for cozy movie nights. I would also move the table into that alcove probably for board games, poker, eating. I think you would still have room for maybe a foosball or air hockey table where that black table is sitting now.
Just an idea, you can turn the spot under the stairs into a restaurant/pay room type thing! We stayed in an air bnb that had it and I thought it was genius and our kids LOVED it while we were downstairs!

I think you would still have room for maybe a foosball or air hockey table where that black table is sitting now.
Just an idea, you can turn the spot under the stairs into a restaurant/pay room type thing! We stayed in an air bnb that had it and I thought it was genius and our kids LOVED it while we were downstairs!

I think your basement turned out inviting and comfortable not overwhelming with stuff. Don't worry about that room behind the closed door my whole house looks and feels that way lol😢.
