Good video. I like the detail on cleaning up and greasing the caliper as it is just as important as replacing the pads, after all, they work together under extreme heat and dirt. This video also reminds me my life would be a little easier if I bought a piston compressor. Nice job mate
Nice video. Nice job going the extra mile about the slide pins and the extra time to make things easier next time. I didn't know about the e brake adjustment on the rear. Putting all the car weight on the parking pawl on my 5eat had me cringe everytime parked on a steep grade. I suggest viewers look at what an automatic brake pawl is so you see it's an incredibly weak point to keep your car parked. I never used the e brake until I found that out.
You missed one thing that have made the job to get the rotor off easy, you have 2 M8 threaded holes in the center, just thread 2 M8 bolts in and the rotor pops off ;)
He didn’t say to watch for master cylinder overflow!! And I’m a master backyard mechanic I mostly want to know bolt sizes and what type caliper and torque specs yes I also torque my lug nuts!!! None of which this dude mentions so he gets a C plus, hey it got me through HS!! And he didn’t tell the beginners to spray with or penatrating oil first!! I like liquid wrench or the newer kind that I can’t think of!!
And he should tell people’s they should get rotors miked or replace most are cheap now I don’t know why they used to be expensive and you’d get them turned but no more of that!!
Nope. You mentioned on the rear that you have to go through the holes in the knuckle, but didn't show much on the top bolt, and completely skipped showing the bottom bolt removal. You also don't mention the size for the rear, but I'm assuming that it is 17mm like you noted for the front.
chad stewart unfortunately it was stolen from my garage. I don’t think they make the sane model anymore. It’s part of their m18 lineup for tools. It’s a 3/8.
@@jth1987leb dude you took the time to write that as opposed to just helping out? Really? I watched it and missed it the first time didn't want to go through the whole thing again
really! I took the time to make the video and add the info you need to do the repair. I don't remember bolt sizes, nut sizes and torque specs off hand. I don't need to give you anything more, I don't even have to make these video. I do them to be helpful. so help yourself and watch the whole video all the way through and pay close attention. maybe grab a pen and paper and take notes

I want/plan to change this on my subaru when the time comes, i hope I don't have rust like that or it'll take me forever. Awesome video tho

Great video and sound advice. Greetings from Australia.
Awesome vid. Thanks. My turn to do my Subaru.
I had to replace bottom bracket, slide pins and boots. Fronts seized badly, I didn’t want to have poorly working equipment so I just replaced them.
Thanks!!
Hi, awesome clip, are you able to explain, what the slight drag feel should feel like when setting the rear E brake, thanks
Roger Stoddart like a weak fridge magnet.

Watched this video to see how to take off the bottom caliper bracket bolt and its the one thing you didn't show
What are you talking about. Don’t skip through the video, it’s all there.

Can I have the model of your Milwaukee impact, please?
