California is shut down. So even though the studio has been quarantined for a week, I won’t be heading in. I want to set a good example: stay home for the good of the community.
Being home with my family is hardly anything that you would call self-sacrificial love. And yet, this forced time at home has brought to the surface all of the freedoms and liberties that I take for granted every day. My heroes are men and women who have given their lives for what they believed in, sacrificing their time, their money, and their lives for others.
This small taste of sacrifice for others is a wake-up call for me. I might say that I serve others, but this small-time home has shown me that I serve myself first and foremost.

I didn’t think much of it when I was a kid, but now that I’m older I think it’s beautiful. I appreciate introspective songs more than I did then.
Not gonna lie... this kinda broke my heart in such a humbleling way. Jon, hang in there. I see the pain in your eyes and you represent the pain in ours too through your music. You will make it through. We love you, and God loves you. "The composer of time and space" sees you and knows your name and loves you.

I remember listening to this song about 12 years ago, just laid off from work and sweeping the kitchen floor. Worried about life, feeding my kids, serving my wife. . And here we are today. Was blessed then, even more blessed now, and thankful in times like these for soul strengthening music. Thanks Jon, will be praying for your family today.

I'm almost certain I would buy a Switchfoot acoustic double-album. But, really completely acoustic, like this! Make the first album the harder side with acoustic versions of songs like Stars and Meant to Live. Make the second album the lighter side with songs like this one. I would have to have an album like that.

Hey everyone. When we are told be anxious for nothing, it means exactly that. We mustn’t just choose to not be anxious about the small stuff and then lose it when bigger adversities come our way. Anything other than complete trust in Him will lead to a foundation that can only crumble with the uncertainties of this world. I am a front-line hospital healthcare worker. I fully grasp the seriousness of this virus and am in-turn taking it very seriously, but I refuse to let it make me even 1% anxious. I choose to care for those around me that are more vulnerable/susceptible, as well as those who are finding themselves anxious during this time. I have been getting what groceries I can for elderly relatives (whilst not stockpiling one single thing). If we focus on helping others during this time and not letting fear in, I think we can obediently be a light in a world of darkness and shine the fruits of the spirit for all to see. #JoyInvincible

I woke up a few mornings ago with this song in my head. This song has gotten me through so many parts of my life over the past 10+ years. I still see the 24 year old Jon sitting right there as he sings this song. God bless you. Who knew that you writing this song would touch so many hearts for decades to come.... a gift from God. Would love for Switchfoot to put out some more songs - I saw one released on iTunes this year, so that’s good!

God’s word is eternal. Never goes void. Never fades away. Never loses taste. And I feel like your songs, Jon, are so much that way. They feel like they’re timeless and forever relevant despite changing circumstances. Evidence to me that God has been and continues to use you for His eternal glory.

"I haven't listened to this CD in close to a decade, but I've been spinning it for the past four days. It was definitely the band's most progressive release with a couple of tunes in different time signatures. But above those tunes, this one has emerged as my favorite song from the band. Jon Foreman has been my favorite lyricist for a long time. He writes these beautiful poems that make you feel the weight of the world while at the same time encouraging you through it. The melody of this tune is complex and unexpected, but genius in how it resolves so beautifully. The orchestral arrangement is powerful as well. I hope to write a song as perfect as this one someday.
I look forward to the day we're singing "Let It Out" together. It's such a freeing song.

I remember hearing this for the first time. It was my first SF concert. Nov 2006. You came out for an encore and played this. I remember thinking it was one of the most beautiful and vulnerable pieces I've ever heard. I've since listened to this countless times and it still resonates with me.
