I mean for below 900 bucks maybe be good to just order a good extractor. I should have bought a colt delta when I was in college they were affordable then.
I'm considering it seeing how a good extractor specific to 40S&W/10mm is only $40 or so... But that still may need to be fitted and the tension tweaked. I am suspecting that they either ran out of 10mm extractors and threw in 9mm/38Super extractors on a production run, or someone pulled the wrong parts bin and didn't know it. With the exception of the extractor issue and the breach face having cerakote, the pistol is actually extremely well built and finished. All things being equal, I'm impressed with everything at the price point, except the reliability out of the box. So close, but no cigar if you aren't looking for a small project gun. - Drake
No, I have not been able to shoot it since the recording and posting of this video (as of 1/08/25). I do plan on running up the round count significantly as soon as I possibly can. My plan is to get past the 500 round mark soon, and eventually 1000 rounds. I may be replacing the extractor with American made one sometime soon. I will provide full details and updates on the pistol as I can. As of right now, it is not good to go out of the box and it does not like S&B factory ammo. It is unfortunate, but that’s what you get some times when you’re dealing with these value brands from Turkey. I think the base gun is exceptional from a project gun standpoint and offers a lot of features that you cannot get in an American made 1911. But, those are the things you need to know before you consider purchasing something like this. I took a gamble, and I’m comfortable working on it to make it dead ass reliable. However, this is not something that I recommend for someone looking for good to go out of the box.
@@AmericanArmsChannel I will keep watching for more updates. I currently have an out of the box, Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0 4" 10MM w FTF issues. I knew the issues before I purchased it, ordered stronger mag springs and 22lb recoil spring. Still having FTF issues. My last ditch is a 24 lb recoil spring that's on the way which I've been assured will fix it. I'm ready to switch platforms which led me here.
Sorry to hear that your M&P is not working correctly. I would reach out to S&W and have them service it. You may want to look into a domestic production 1911 in 10mm, but I do have a second range video up on the channel now that shows this pistol running well over 250 rounds straight without issue. That is after some more adjustments to the extractor and slight re-profile and polishing of the sear disconnect ramp.
I’m glad to hear your example is working correctly. How many different loadings have you used and what’s the round count so far? SDS Imports very well may service it, but all in all, the issues have been so minor and user serviceable, I don’t want to deal with their warranty. When I had need for replacement optics rail screws for an AKSA S4, I contacted their warranty service. Instead of confirming the issue with me and the video/pictures I had of the issue (which was a factory defect), they told me to send the whole firearm in… over 4 non-critical screws. They wouldn’t send me the parts I needed. That was a red flag to me of “lights are on, nobody’s home”. I can fix most things myself, so that is what I am doing in this instance.
Maybe... definitely not good-to-go out of the box, and that is a problem. Two items in its way to success are installation of a proper extractor and the fact they cerakote finished the breach face (dumb idea). Misses that are strange since they got everything else on the pistol correct and fit and finish is otherwise near-perfect. Thanks for watching. - Drake

So have you shot it more, bugs getting worked out?

had 7 failure to loads with my brothers Kimber Rapide in first 500 rounds, break in period so expect it.
Hot take - a $1,600+ firearm should not have a “break-in” period for it to be reliable. An $800 import? Still not really acceptable.
I personally have had zero issues with mine, maybe contact them and let them know you had issues out they box they may replace it or fix it
