I was literally just in Rehab with him, at Tarzana Treatment Center. This was recorded Feb 20 before he got into treatment. I was released a few days ago. He’s a really solid dude, our last convo was him trying to convince me I must be half black because of my hair! 😂 I’m Mexican tho. Anyways I just want you all to know he’s in good hands, getting the help he needs. God bless you Kevin! One day at a time partna. Edit: His arm is still in the healing process, it is definitely much better tho! It aint never too late for anybody 🙏 Recovery is possible! You just got to really want it.

So some people have an opiate reaction from alcohol which makes them not want to stop. Have you ever heard of naltrexone? Well kratom functions the same way. Totally removed any desire to drink for me. I mean completely. You can function on it very well.

Yo, I can’t even lie. This one hurts. Kev was my barber since I was 15. One of the best barbers on Crenshaw hands down. Freestyling crazy designs in our heads havin us stupid fresh every weekend. We basically seen each other grow up cuz we like the same age. Barber turned homie. My dawg. I can’t believe it. I’m truly devastated. You gave my son his first haircut. I have a question does opioids age you? There a Methadone clinic on my block and most of the patients are crippled and bent over and they are in their 40 and 50 looking like 70 and 80s.
So sad...he's a very attractive guy with kind eyes and a light spirit. I hope he finds his light and is able to win his battle against this demon.
....and such a calming spirit too. My heart breaks for him and I pray he comes out the other side strong and triumphant. Sending you love and positive vibes Kevin.

When he said he shot right into the wound, I gasped. I’m praying that this pure soul makes a full recovery from this. You can literally feel the genuineness of his spirit. He wants to get better for himself and his family. Man, this story was tough.

I have a brother who is an addict and he blames our parents, but after 25 years you gotta start taking ownership for your own addiction. For some addicts blaming the family is their hustle to get sympathy so they can get what they want from people. Every case is different.

Dope sickness is the worst, I'm 43 days into my sobriety. This is the hardest thing in my life, I'm college educated,employed,great home, and never touched a drug until I was 40. Same story as everyone's else's chronic pain got me to opiates then I met the DEVIL'S child, Heroin. I pray this young man get in treatment before he kills himself fast. He has to go inpatient like I did and take it one day at a time. I knew he was hiding something when I observed how he was caring his jacket. Praying for him b4 he kills himself. God please help him as u have helped us all.

The Templeton foundation has spent millions of dollars and thirty years trying to prove the healing powers of prayer with absolutely no avail. Scams come in all forms one being religion.

I went through a terrible oxy withdrawl at the age of 60 after 7 years of taking it. For 3 weeks I either thought I was going to die, wanted to die or was ready to run out the door to get high. In retrospect I now understand why treatment doesn't always work for some. I was lucky as I had a therapist that was there for me all the time as well as a very compassionate doctor and friends. I still get the odd craving, especially when life gets tough - e.g. Covid-19 isolation - but the thought of experiencing withdrawls is something I NEVER wish to go through again. Life is to precious to cave in to that shit..
That broke my heart. Such a beautiful man. I'm soooo glad to know he's gotten help since. He has such a light in him. I'll continue praying for his recovery.

When he rises from these pits, lives will be changed because of his strength. Lives are being changed right now as people watch him speak. His honesty will touch hearts, heal hearts and keep people away from walking down this path.

I’ve watched a a lot of this series, including the entire top viewed videos, and they are all impactful, but THIS one has hit the hardest. 1st to bring me to tears. my jaw dropped for the longest. I hurt for him. I have a lot of respect for his vulnerability and transparency in that he doesn’t protect his image to hide the pain and impact of the drug, nor does he pretend he’s a complete victim and unable to own his part, and yet it’s clear he isn’t content with his plight but he still shows dignity. I hear something in him I don’t with most, and it’s hope. What an inspiration, and sure it’s shocking to see the wound, but any addict can show you the dirt, but it’s the way he did it, owned it, and doesn’t coward. I’m proud of him and I hope to hear an update in his future where I can say I’m proud FOR him.

I've been clean 32 years and his description of slamming made me want to go score. I'm glad he showed his abcess. That reminds me where it leads. He is so intelligent. If he could get into a rehab where they medicate you through dopesickness he could make such a difference as a motivational speaker. That arm is gonna cause sepsis, which I'm sure he knows. It looks like he's keeping it clean. But it doesn't take much to infect a wound like that. I so hope he wins this battle.

The way he was holding his hoodie I knew something bad was on his arm. I was thinking a really bad abscess but to see an open wound and my mouth hit the floor. He’s such a handsome guy and he’s ONLY 30 with no children. He comes from a good family and just got caught up in a lifestyle that led him to being shot at 14 and 16 which led him to painkillers. Heroin, truly is the devil’s child and once you take that first hit it’s just a never ending cycle to get your first high again and to not be sick. I just started watching this channel about a few days ago and being a nursing student and seeing these women and men share their stories and struggles truly is an eye opener and I definitely have more empathy because it only takes one mistake or circumstance for everything to fall apart. I need an update on him please whenever he’s ready to talk again.

I'm so glad you discovered this channel, and I know it will better prepare you for nursing. It's so easy to become desensitized, and blame the person for their own bad choices. But you are right all it takes is one bad decision, or circumstance. In his case he got shot from gang banging, but this happens to good kids too. Sports injuries, car wrecks, etc. They need a surgery, get prescribed opiates, and their life completely changes at that moment. Even now...even if they only get a week supply, that's all it takes.

I can tell that this is a very intelligent young man and he will pull through and be very successful. Addiction does not discriminate. I worked in Methadone clinics as a nurse administering methadone to patients who were nurses, lawyers, doctors and other people of prestige, so no one should judge anyone's situation because it can happen to anyone.
God give Kevin the strength he needs to rebuild his life and shun his demons.. this could happen to anyone clearly we all become weak.. prayers

Tears rolled down my face because I really can tell he is a good person but like he said , it’s a demon and I have been there with Crystal Meth. It was a struggle and relapsing so many time but now I’m saved , preaching and helping as many people I can with my testimony. I pray he succeeds in life and I prayed for him. I have watched several of your interviews and this one by far has touched me the most. When I sat here and listened to him speak about his life and his addictions all I could do was pray. This young man has something very special inside him. He is intelligent and very well spoken. I pray healing over his mind and his body. If you read this Kevin I just want to tell you that you are special and you will live and not die. All the things you have encountered is just a setup for what God has in store for you. You will come out victorious with an amazing testimony and all the glory will belong to God. There is no demon greater than Him. I'm going to pray and continue to pray for this young man.

i like it when the interviewees are not extreme cases as well, since it shows how it is possible for anyones;s life to be derailed. it makes it relatable for people who"have it all ok" rather than having family problems and childhood trauma. usually, the people from well off healthy families become the worst ones when it comes to ostracising people in need... the issue is less exotified (i apologise if i used a word wrongly, english is not my first language but i hope my point is made without anyone being offended)

He aint lying about that rush. I recently relapsed after 9 years sober off the needle. I was hit head on 4 years ago and crushed both my legs. It started with the norco, then my tolerance grew and i started buying oxy. Street value on that was waaay too much. The whole opioid crisis made it impossible to treat my pain legally. I bought some h. Overdosed instantly just from snorting it. Its all fentanyl now a days. Thank god for narcan. Im 10 days clean now.

Edit #2: 18 months sober! It's possible to pick yourself back up. No matter how much clean time you had.

Both of these statements are true...the Pharm took him for a ride on that tractor and he just got off 5-6 years later...but to address the commentnat the top of this... Honestly, that's about 50% of the guys out in the US...they are genuinely good people that made horrible decisions that have now landed them in a spot UNDER the bottom of the barrel...stealing from your parents is one of the first signs you need serious help...trust me...I'm speaking from experience ...IV never done heroin or oxys or nothin like that, but IV been around it for years...living on the west side of Columbus, that's all you see...but it is possible to triumph over this...you just have to literally put your entire being into staying clean...being dope sick or pill sick ain't no fucking joke...I'm not saying it's not the person's fault bc for the most part it's always self inflicted, you do have exceptions like the Pharm...but besides that it is the person's fault they're strung out...
The Doctors give ppl these opiates then they become addicted it gets worse with time! He was shot given opiates and liked what the doctors gave him! You ask me the Doctors need to come up with a new plan of Care

This is unfortunately all too common among heroin addicts, or addicts in general. It seems People, especially those who have never struggled with addiction or at least witnessed it firsthand, forget that addicts are people too, and only view them as their addiction.
