    I know this vid is a couple of years old but just for anyone else reading the comments, you don't need a full size food processor. If you don't have a food processor or blender, you can get a mini chopper for around $10 (like the ones one uses to make salsa). There are even small manual choppers that make it quicker by pressing down on the top as it spins and chops for under $10. Great way to speed up the process without spending a lot or taking up too much counter/cabinet space.

    Hello :) i have a few questions
    First of all do you leave your birds food in the cage all day long or do you have a feeding schedule?
    Second what pellets do you use? On the topic of pellets a lot of people have been saying that Harrison’s pellets are actually really unhealthy for your bird. I have been feeding my cockatiel Uki Harrison’s pellets for a while because I thought it was healthy. Do you use Harrison’s?? I’m just curious because I want my birds to have proper nutrition. Have a blessed day ❤️❤️✨

    • @BirdNerdSophie
      @BirdNerdSophie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! We feed the fresh food at 9am, and replace with a dry mix at dinner (3pm). We don't use pellets as a big portion of the diet, just for a bit of fun and foraging! We use Harrison's and TOP's but they don't get them everyday!

    Both my birds hate fruit for some reason, I tried giving Fluffy banana and strawberry which he didn't eat at all, and I gave Maya a chunk of apple, and she didn't nibble at it, she kinda walked away from it.
    5:27 what?! How did u get peas that big? We only have snap peas in our area and when you open the pods the peas are tiny! That's why I don't really include peas in chop :(
    5:59 for some reason Fluffy and Maya aren't a fan a carrot, no matter how fine I chop it...
    I add in dried chili to my chop, and dried herbs in because I don't have fresh herbs. I add fresh coriander because it's the only fresh herb I have, I put in dried thyme, dried rosemary, dried dill, and powdered oregano which I made sure that there is no other ingredients
    I also add some chia seeds in it too

      I believe that’s the hibiscus you mean 😊 and yes ginger is great for birds - I have a whole video about it!
      Sometimes trying the same foods in different ways can help, like leafy greens threaded through the cage bars, or chunky veg on a kabob skewer!

      My parrot is adopted and I am still trying different chop. He doesn't like a lot of veggies. I made veggie grain bake he eats and he loves my baked cookies. He never touched herbs or sprout. He likes crispy stuff. He stesls my crisp bread. I keep trying. He was a bird which was scared of everything. Skewers in his cage 🤔 stuff weaved through the bars 🤔 he would be the skinniest bird for fright. 🙄🙄😱😱😂🤣 he probably never had eatable flowers either. Thank you. I will try Arugula. He likes peas and corn and pepper seeds. 🌶
