The nutritional value of flax seeds is not available unless they are ground. I buy it ground. It also helps with absorbing liquid and thickening. I add it to my oatmeal along with ground walnuts for extra nutrition.
I would enjoy eating it too, sounds and looks tasty ;) I wasn't making chop for Bruno yet - I usually just cut different vegetables and give those to him, happily my diet is 90% vegetables so I am preparing a lot of those for me, so Bruno has always plenty of veggies. And happily he loves to make chop himself, he would love to get whole carrot and shred it, and eat it later. He loves carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, parsley, celery root, red bell pepper and I gave him few, unsalted, cooked lentils some time ago, but I saw mixed opinions about how much legumes can parrot eat so I am careful with those. But happily he loves any vegetable I give to him, except pumpkin, I don't know why but he doesn't want to even look at it, pumpkin seeds yes, pumpkin flesh nope. But he really loves carrots, he can eat as much as he have, and if something is on the bottom of the cage, he will grab and eat it too. Same with bell pepper and broccoli. When it comes to fruits he loves apples and bananas. I will see at spring and summer/autumn what kinds of veggies and fruits he likes because i will definitely grow radish, lettuce, I have raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry in the garden to, so plenty foods to share with the parrot :D Oh and kale, I need to plant this one to! And try to eat it with Bruno before my chickens would eat it ;)
Wow you have your own garden thats amazing!!! And thats great as long as he gets his veggies intake then you are doing amazing :) Everybird is picky and has preferences so don't worry about the pumpkin xP

Thanks for letting us know about the Teflon rice cooker. I knew not to use Teflon pans. I didn't think of the rice cooker.
