The new CinemaX D2 doesn’t have a color wheel so the color gamut is a bit wider. It’s also 8lbs lighter since the built in sound bar speakers is smaller. Other than that, it’s not a justifiable upgrade if you already own the P2. My P2 is fantastic and I didn’t use the Smart fit app since it’s not a big deal to adjust it manually. Just be patient👍🏻
Please help, my Optoma Cinemax p2 on setup gets stuck at the first page and doesn’t load to the second page which I will see language selection. Is my remote control the problem?
Hi. I have this projector but i cant get the screen on the projector or control on the phone to make the image fit the projector screen. Can u help?
The app is broken, it does not work anymore - does not recognise the screen on the wall.

When using this projector in 3D mode …. Can you use the same glasses as in the movie theater ?? Or do you need special glasses
You need special 3D glasses. Look for "DLP link 3D glasses". These are "active" glasses which means they will need charging.

I’m having to set the calibration everytime I switch on
don’t have to once you calibrated it the only thing I could think of is have it somewhere stationary where it doesn’t move
Hi, I have a Cinamax P2 and a floor-rising ALR screen. Does anyone know how to use the SmartFit to get the P2 adjusted to 120"? The floor-rising ALR screen doesn't really have the outer frame in this case. Thank you!
It does not even work with a fixed frame.

@@aaronlin6260 There is no adjustment other than digital zoom (zoom-in) via geometric correction. Smartfit can only zoom-in if distance is bigger than required (displayed image bigger than the screen) and correct the geometry. The app did not recognise my frame and I had to move the device to make it look good - and also the screen, because the projection height is fixed in Optoma - there is no adjustment of height. The app is basically useful only if you can put the projector further than it is required, but you can also do the same with the manual geometry adjustment I believe. I placed the projector exactly at the spot for 100" and it's fine (I only had to change the screen height).

Not true. You just got a defective model. I had mine since May 2021 and it’s still as AMAZING as when I first turned it on. The Smart fit app is unnecessary. Do it manually. It’s not that big of a task. Love my P2👏🏻👍🏻
