    Congrats on the R50. Your M50 is so well maintained! Standard and IPB settings refer to differences in bitrate.

    Congratulations on your purchase.
    If I'm not wrong, the R50 can be powered directly via USB-C so no need for dummy batteries anymore when using it for TH-cam videos or livestreaming.
    One downgrade you might have missed is the lack of contacts in the hot shoe to use regular strobes. With the R50, you either need to use Canon's propriety flashes (the EL series) or buy an adapter (AD-E1) which adds height and bulk to the small body. Hence, I would still recommend the M50/M50 ii for any beginners who take more photos especially in a studio environment.
    Just sharing - hope it helps!

    Look at the size difference between the lens mounts of the two cameras!
    The M lenses were APSC only, and appropriately small and light for the small camera.
    The R lenses all have the same lens mount as full frame lenses, so they're stupid big for APSC cameras.
    The Canon R full frame cameras are fine, but I think Canon shot themselves in the foot with their new crop sensor cameras.

    Nice! Congrats man! This was what we all wanted from the M50 successor but too bad it's RF mount. That being said, at least there are more budge RF lenses available now. Not the best but decent. If I didn't have the A7C I'd be looking at the R8....I'm so tempted! Looking forward to see some pics and footage.

    • @freeleymedia
      @freeleymedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they're slowly coming out but I'm waiting for Tamron and Sigma to hopefully come out with their versions of RF lenses. Same here! I'm actually looking to get the R8 too. I made a deal with my brother to basically get him the R50 and teach him how to use it while I get make videos on it hahaha but for sure more videos coming soon!

      @@freeleymedia sounds like a sweet deal! Is canon allowing 3rd party vendors to make lenses? Haven’t been keeping up to date lately

    • @freeleymedia
      @freeleymedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do but only manual focus lenses so far 😢 I did a little digging and apparently they wanna make their own lenses first and then open it up to 3rd parties later on. Kinda sucks bcuz I'd love to get some RF lenses but they are way out of budget right now. At least the adapter will solve that problem until then

      @@freeleymedia Yeah that's what I last remember which is ridiculous but hopefully they'll allow it sooner or later. One of the main reasons why I'm hesitating to get an R8.

    Im thinking about getting this camera with the 10-18mm lens!!!!! I had that same issue with my M50! the lifting of the rubber part. im glad they took that off for the R50.

    Had a ? about the stock RF-S18-45mm lens. The lens is F4.5 -6.3 If you get a chance could you please check at what zoom level does the F stop change. I wish it was F3.5-6.3 like the RF-S18-150mm. I guess were all stuck using the adapter for now with so few Canon RF-S lenses. Thanks

    • @GlennBennettJr
      @GlennBennettJr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was finally able to find this info:
      18-21mm = f/4.5
      22-29mm = f/5.0
      30-36mm = f/5.6
      37-45mm = f/6.3

    • @AndrewNikitini
      @AndrewNikitini 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hope it's not a late reply,but I've heard that for movie/cinematic shots and footage they mostly use 4k 24 fps since that recording settings on R50 give more softer and easly editable footage for better results,some say that 4k 30fps is great if u want much sharper and detailed results.definitely try yourself and take test clips to edit and compare which one u prefer since after all it's still a personal reference.Hope this helps!

    I got mine on the 17th tested it over the weekend i went to a car show took some pics and videos and my conclusion is it’s a great camera, but for me its was very uncomfortable to hold I just can’t do the grip that camera is not meant to be held it’s meant to be on a tripod which I understand becuz its geared towards beginners and vloggers i just bought it becuz i thought I could save some money becuz it aint nothing but a R10 in a smaller body but I ended up sending it back to Amazon on the 20th. I’m just going buy the R10 like I was in the first place that’s camera I really wanted and I’ve actually held it and like how it feels in my hand I’m just gonna pay the extra money… I also bought that 16 mm 2.8 lens too I really like it but the AF is a lil noisy tho.

    Hello! Can you transfer files from this camera to a phone via usb c connection? If you use a cable with two usb c ends, one connecting to the phone and one connecting to the camera. I do pictures in tourist areas and I print them on spot. I need to be really fast. My phone is conected through wifi to a printer. I need to transfer the photos to the phone via cable. Thank you!

    If you have the M50 you should have at least got an R10, R50 is not an upgrade in my opinion at all.
    Hardly any native lenses (RF-S) is a HUGE let down and all the RF-S lenses are just ported over EF-M lenses and in fact they are inferior to EF-M. The R50 kit lens is rubbish id rate the EF-M 15-45 as better.
    Not to mention all the other EF-M lenses which are beautiful (22mm pancake, 32mm f1.4, Sigma 56, Sigma 16, 55-200, the superb 11-22 and the lovely macro 28)
