It worked on my 2004 Ford F-150! I didn’t have to do all the steps tho cuz my light never turned back on after turning headlights off and on, but u just started it and it worked! Thank you
Worked on my 2001 ford ranger. I also have a 2006 ford E250 and disabled that years ago. Probably a different way but it’s great that it’s an option in Fords!
Does this also reset the seat belt alarm if I turn it back on? I feel I enabled the alarm going off all the time by being bored and messing with the clicker
Im not sure what step in missing but I cant get mine to work on my 2005 ford taurus. I tried both the three clicks with the headlight process and the one with the e-brake process and I cant get it to work. Lete get this straight. So once the lights goes off its 3 clicks ending with it unbuckled, turn the lights on and off, 3 more clicks ending knuckles and after 3 seconds buckle and unbuckle once more and I should see the dashlight blinking and that's it?

I take that back.. I posted the comment of it not working prematurely. The sestbelt light didn't come back on after the 2 rounds and turning the lights on. However when I drove away that day the seatbelt chime was clearly disabled... Thank you
Interesting! I can't BEGIN to imagine how you figured this out. How I YEARN for the cars of yesteryear, without all the computer crap, that I could actually FIX BY MYSELF!! I solved this by going to a junkyard, paying $2 for a buckle matching my car's belt that I cut free from the seat belt of the junk car. Just clicked it in, drove off happy! I'd actually LIKE to have a seatbelt that FITS ME, but Ford designed it so it's wedged down between the seat & console, DAMN hard to find, DAMN uncomfortable to use!!
Since aftermarket seatbelts don't come with the electrical connection, it's necessary to disable the chime. I can't even get an OEM belt from Ford (dealer says it's discontinued).
I followed the same procedure on my 2002 Lincoln Continental, except on that final "buckle-unbuckle" step, the seatbelt light didn't blink. What am I doing wrong?
The issue I'm having is that my chimmer goes off even when my seat belt is plugged in. I drive a 04 mustang if you have any suggestions any would help.
@@bearlyexplored oh thank god my 02 Ranger would not shut up! Fixed it hopefully (also apperantly if you buckle before you turn the key on it disables it for that engine cycle )
2003 Ford Focus. After I buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled. But After step 5, the Safety Belt Warning Light does NOT turn on for 3 seconds. nothing happens after... Any thoughts?
judging from the comments this trick worked for everyone but me, tried it 6 times on my 01 mustang which keeps going off every few minutes even though my seatbelt is latched. watched you video twice before i tried it and now twice again afterwards and what i noticed different is when my light goes off the first time the alarm starts going off and doesn't stop when i plug in the seatbelt like yours does and after the second set of 3 seatbelt connects the light doesn't go off for the 7 seconds it just goes straight into flashing and beeping, i'll try it again but i think whatever is causing it to false alarm is screwing up disabling it....
Still does not work on an 05 E2 50 van everything works all the way through and it flashes at the end and then shuts off and it still turns the alarm on when you turn the key back on.
Alyssa Dallmann try this: make sure the parking break is on, all doors are closed, then follow these steps: Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START. Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes). Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 60 seconds! Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled. Turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights. Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled. After step 5, the Safety Belt Warning Light will be turned on for 3 seconds. Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning light turning OFF, buckle then un-buckle the safety belt. This will disable the Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable the Belt Minder if it is currently disabled. Confirmation of the disabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds. Confirmation of the enabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the safety belt light off, then followed by flashing the safety belt light 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
