This is quite possibly my single favourite dessert ever... Coupled with nice, cold vanilla ice cream and it's just...heavenly. You can counter the unhealthiness by having a thinner crust and only eating a small portion (as you should be doing with any sugary/fatty dessert).
I discovered these in Mexico this year and they had Nutella to put on them, and I ate them every morning for 7 days. thanks so much for posting the recipe
NICKO NICKO NICKO! This is one of my all time fav dessert! I once went to a Chinese resturant and had deep fried ice cream and they had rolled the ice cream balls in coconut first and then battered and fried them, it was gorgeous.
just made these so good and very easy, you could use this batter on anything sweet to deep fry, chocolate bars, cookies whatever I added cinnamon on the second batch.
yummy, looks amazing! the only change i'm gonna make when i'm making them, sprinkle them with sesame seeds instead of coconut :) amazing nicko, thanks for this. your recipes rock! (and your recipes are the only ones i've ever actually tried and they came out awesome. and believe me, i subscribed to many chefs, but you're the best :D)
I haven’t tasted Deep Fried Bananas before, but I just hope they taste so good as my Mom’s and Grandmother’s homemade Puerto Rican plantains for every night dinners.
Your cooking always makes me hungry and I never have all the ingredients to make everything. I do have a question though. WTH are bangers and mash? I'm assuming the mash part refers to mashed potatoes but what is a banger?
They were both Dutch colonies, and Afrikaans is actually old Dutch, "pisang" is Indonesian for banana and "goreng" is Indonesian for fried, pisang goreng is also eaten in the Netherlands and another former Dutch colony called Suriname, there people call it "bakbana" which means baked banana.
Hey Nicko, i found your videos very recently and i just wanna say, i really love them! Subscribed, and i really think this is helpful when baking, thank you!
Yum yum😋 actually, if you go to asia market, you will find banana that suit for fry. The texture is not mushy when fried, even though the banana is ripe. So no need a lot of sugar
no joke, the best sweet batter ive ever used for dep frying is just regular "just add water" pancake mix. i did it once with mars bars (will never do again, 50g of food = 100000000kg on the hips), but it was sooooooo good. but definately will try this
You should try having fried bananas. They are absolutely good. Make sure the batter is measured well and you use the right bananas too. Not all bananas will make good fried bananas.
This video was uploaded on my birthday, I will so make this for my next birthday and it just might become a tradition cause i love bananas and the only thing i know how to make with them except eating them as are is banoffee pie.
Pisang goreng in Malaysia.. or deep banana fried. I've got some additional for it.. After banana is ready, put a bit honey on top of it, & put 2 scoop of vanilla ice cream beside the hot banana fried with honey... now ready to serve & it's awesome!!!!!! u can see the ice cream melting through the banana... fantastic! ^__*
i saw these so many times in thailand aswell!, but my dad wouldent let me buy them knowin that they dont change the oil for days/weeks! thanks for the vid man

hi, in our country(philippines) we also have it as one of our street foods we use cardaba(saba) banana which is rich in potassium.
Your cooking always makes me hungry and I never have all the ingredients to make everything. I do have a question though. WTH are bangers and mash? I'm assuming the mash part refers to mashed potatoes but what is a banger?

I don't really like coconut, but do you think it would taste nice with powdered sugar?
I`m guessing you can sprinkle powdered sugar instead of coconut at the end?
When i see a new video from you, i allways smile :) You make me smile :)
what do you think about freezing the bananas before frying?
what can you substitute for the coconut? or can you just leave it out?
Pisang goreng in Malaysia.. or deep banana fried.
