This is quite possibly my single favourite dessert ever... Coupled with nice, cold vanilla ice cream and it's just...heavenly. You can counter the unhealthiness by having a thinner crust and only eating a small portion (as you should be doing with any sugary/fatty dessert).

I discovered these in Mexico this year and they had Nutella to put on them, and I ate them every morning for 7 days. thanks so much for posting the recipe

NICKO NICKO NICKO! This is one of my all time fav dessert! I once went to a Chinese resturant and had deep fried ice cream and they had rolled the ice cream balls in coconut first and then battered and fried them, it was gorgeous.

Your cooking always makes me hungry and I never have all the ingredients to make everything. I do have a question though. WTH are bangers and mash? I'm assuming the mash part refers to mashed potatoes but what is a banger?

They were both Dutch colonies, and Afrikaans is actually old Dutch, "pisang" is Indonesian for banana and "goreng" is Indonesian for fried, pisang goreng is also eaten in the Netherlands and another former Dutch colony called Suriname, there people call it "bakbana" which means baked banana.

Yum yum😋 actually, if you go to asia market, you will find banana that suit for fry. The texture is not mushy when fried, even though the banana is ripe. So no need a lot of sugar

no joke, the best sweet batter ive ever used for dep frying is just regular "just add water" pancake mix. i did it once with mars bars (will never do again, 50g of food = 100000000kg on the hips), but it was sooooooo good.
    but definately will try this

Pisang goreng in Malaysia.. or deep banana fried.
I've got some additional for it..
After banana is ready, put a bit honey on top of it, & put 2 scoop of vanilla ice cream beside the hot banana fried with honey... now ready to serve & it's awesome!!!!!! u can see the ice cream melting through the banana... fantastic! ^__*
