Good to see some scene really were done by a stunt and not Cavil! (like the parts where the ceiling fall) (because of his Interviews, I almost thought he did a really big part of the fights, glad to know he is still an human actor and not a superman actor doing everything himself) is it written in the credits when the stunt acts and not Cavil? (in part because it might be dangerous and he got text to say so he got to focus on what only he can do : acting)
i'd rather assume that first; whole scene (choreography) is about to be tested by stunt team to examine which parts will be too dangerous to be performed by actors, if possible, changed as well so actors will be able to act in those. I haven't been on plan to be able to confirm it or not but i like to believe that this is how it was
Cavill does all of his stunts, he's rather stubborn when it comes to that, these are probably getting the script together and seeing if it's safe and feasible for the stunt to be done by geralt himself
they are doing these different fight scenes because they are trying to make (build) the fight and see what works and what dosent so it will be awseome when it comes out
