Thanks for posting and congratulations. I trained bjj for nearly a year before moving and switched to judo, which I've been training just under 4 years in. I've been back at bjj in addition to judo and getting ready to do my first bjj competition. I've got bad nerves so seeing the environment and action in these videos helps a lot, so thanks again for posting.
@@pelinalwhitestrake9162 you won't regret it, in jiu jitsu I trip and throw much bigger opponents while in judo in newaza (groundwork) I run through everyone. Despite origins with what they've turned into when you put them together it'll make you more complete.
@@graysonchavis Thanks so much! I got double gold in gi and no gi at Newbreed in NC! Ny heart rate before my first match was higher before I stepped on the mat than it was after the match, but I made it through. In the no gi final I went against a judo player who tried to uchi mata but I was able to counter with tani otoshi and continue progressing position to position. I train twice daily at multiple gyms, without it mentally I'm a mess. I've been clean since April 9th 2010 and training has been a huge part of that.
I needed a good laugh (so tired after the warning and just staring at each other)!! But I am also proud of the guys for getting out there and competing, learning where they are and getting better.
These belts are only for the judges in order to properly score the match. Depending on the tournament, you may be asked to wear an additional belt along with your personal belt in order for the ref to tell the judge who scored. Notice the arm band on the ref? His red arm band is scoring the fighter with the red belt on. The ref will raise whichever hand that corresponds with the fighter who just scored points along with the number of points indicated by the refs fingers.

I've been wanting to try some judo. Been doing BJJ for about 2 years now. I want to focus on more takedowns and stuff and i feel judo could help.

Being stood up in bjj is insane lol
It was this match that made the referee rethink his job.
Oh man, almost had the omoplata and it looked like you were setting up a Canto choke at the end there Great job.
Had to turn the volume off 😂
EdiEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
His coaches really know their stuff! “Cmon babe”! Probably was the advice that propelled him to victory
The ref could star in The Walking Dead, no questions asked.
Congrats! Funny detail is that the guy who got a DQ loss in your second bjj comp video just got a DQ again, with another neckcrank belive it or not!
Very nice! Keep up the good work 👏👏👏
With a supportive wife like that, this will be a great man.
Good job guys.
Great match by both.
Had to tell my wife to be quiet during a tournament before. Super distracting.
It was so annoying, and she reminded me of a hockey mom...
Awesome match!! Well done 😁
When’s the next comp?? 😅
It’s the real John Wick ham

way to go sir
good fight, be proud
Why is blue wearing two belts?
He has a red belt on the correspond with the red wrist band the ref has on so he can hold either hand up to award points depending who scores.
I fear John's wife .. She seems to be a pro 😂
What is the weight?
What’s the red belt?
This chick had no idea what she was saying
what does the red belt and white belt worn at the same time mean?

I love the wife!!!❤️❤️

Mate how annoying is that guys mrs
Is this the geriatrics tournament
Old people need excercise too
Get a room
girl in the background mad annoying
@5:50 its "Riva" not "Heeva". Nothing worse than someone who doesn't train BJJ trying to give advice to those rolling.
No it’s pronounced Heeva but spelt like Riva. 😂
@@heidirosenz Correct. So Riva as I've said then... Named after Ricardo.
