    Hi thank you so much for this tutorial. I have searched and searched for one that I can watch the technic easily. Please do not apologise at all this is the best tutorial I have watched and it’s also made me realise that one id thought had gone wrong actually hasn’t, you’re voice is also pretty lol I’m from England and I could listen to you all day! I’m shielding and have taken this opportunity to learn some new skills and just told my husband I’ll be up at 5am giving this ago. When I’ve finished what I have planned I’ll send you a picture! I’ve been an artist all my life (48 now) and went to art college 30 years ago but had to put it all on hold because of money and my family. Now they have left home I am now able to do what I love. You are an inspiration with your art work and I can’t wait to watch all your videos and learn more. 🥰🥰🥰

    Hi, Lorrie! Thank you for another great tutorial on this technique. I'm just started out with wispy and I'm not getting it ... yet. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. I think it's sad that you feel the need to apologize to anyone complaining that they can't see because of the dryer, or they can't see what color you're using. You have been so generous with your time. Almost every other ai artist I have watched who is doing this does it sped up and no explanation as to what they're doing. You do your videos real time and you take the time to explain and teach. You are right at the top of artists I watch for new videos to come out. I can see perfectly with the dryer. It only gets in the way for a few seconds, and we can all assume what's going on with the ink when this happens. You keep on being you and making these great videos. You won't hear anything but p raise from me. You're best! Oh, and I love to hear you talk too. Love you, Lorrie

I know that no matter how I do things I will never be able to make every single person happy, but it's hard for me not to at least try. I stress myself out too much over some things so it really, really means so much to me to read a comment like yours. These comments and knowing how much you and others appreciate my videos are what keep me doing this! Much love to you! 😊💜💜

    Your work is wonderful. I've been watching you for a long time and I'd like to try to create something too ... I have a question - How do you set the temperature when using the Revlon? (Does it have to be cold?) Thanks for answer...

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! My Revlon dryer has a dedicated cool setting that I just slide the switch to. Unfortunately, it seems to no longer be available to buy. I am trying to find a similar replacement for people who don't have one yet. Technically, it doesn't have to have a cool setting, but I would highly recommend it. Your paper can and will warp with heat since it is just basically a sheet of plastic. Also, when I first started out, I found that my alcohol/inks dried up too quickly for me. I wanted longer to work them without having to constantly adding more alcohol. If you are looking for a similar dryer, make sure the brush attachment is removable (some aren't), that the wattage isn't too high (mine is 500 watts), and that it has a cool setting on it. I hope you decide to go ahead and give this a try! It takes some practice to master, but it really is a lot of fun and you can create some beautiful art like this! 💜💜

    Just beautiful! Have you ever used the Ranger Metallic Mixative paints in place of the Piñata Metallic paint on the Yupo? Just curious about the difference in effect.

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I have tried the Ranger Metallics, but I didn't like them very much for the style of painting that I do. They don't move with the ink/alcohol the way Pinata brass does. You really need to use blending solution with them (which I don't like, too thick) and even then I can't get results I am happy with. I like the veining and little chunky bits from the way the brass floats on the inks. I couldn't get that at all with the other metallics, not even the other Pinata metallics lol. 💜💜

  • @rayray714a
    @rayray714a 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for your videos! I’m learning a lot from them and so appreciate you! I have the same hairdryer. Are you using the first setting on it which is is a high volume of cool? Also I cannot get my Pinata brass to work like this. I am following your example but mine always puddles like sand in the middle of my alcohol. I can’t get it to stand up on the ridges. If I get any line at all it’s just specks. But always leaving a puddle of sand. I’m using the cool setting which blows the alcohol plenty. But it’s not moving the brass. Any ideas that might help? Thank you!!

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much for the lovely comment! I do use the cool setting on my dryer. It takes some practice to learn to deal with the high airflow, but that higher airflow really helps when it comes to moving the brass. One thing that may help, if you aren't already doing this, is to put down a drop of brass first then squirt your alcohol directly onto it to help it start moving. Be careful not to squirt too much. It's easy to do. I always blow back and forth over my brass/alcohol a couple of times, too. It takes a little bit to get it moving good sometimes. Be sure you aren't using too much brass, too. One drop of it can go a long way. The more you use, the more you will get those specks and floaty pieces, rather than a fine line. I hope this helps you some. Using the brass took me quite a bit of practice when I first started. I actually quit using it altogether for a while because I got so frustrated with it lol. Luckily, I did go back to practicing with it and finally got the hang of it. You will, too. Just keep up the practice and you'll have it mastered before you know it! 😊💜💜

    • @LorrieBrewer
      @LorrieBrewer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's just my name for those little squiggles of ink that you can get when you lose control of where the ink and/or alcohol goes on your paper. They remind me of fingers sticking out from a hand so that's what I call them lol. One viewer calls them "spider legs" lol. 💜😊

      If you are having a hard time with composition, just try starting in the middle of your paper and working your way outward all around. Or try to follow the shape of a painting you like until you can get the hang of it. Once you are more comfortable with painting in this wispy style, it will be easier to come up with shapes you would like to try on your own. Hang in there! 💜💜

      I had my daughter watch the video that I have had the most complaints of ads on (this one) and she had the same problem. She didn’t count them but said about every 4-5 minutes one would pop up. Hers were all skippable, but that would still drive a person batty and keep them from watching. I hope I can find out something to do soon. I promise I don’t ever put extra ads over whatever TH-cam puts in automatically on my videos just to try to make money, but I know that is probably what people think. I have lost several subscribers lately and this is probably why most of them unsubscribed. I will keep looking into it until I can get some answers for everyone!
