Hey guys this is a 1990 Yamaha Banshee. This is the first quad I restored on this channel when I had ZERO subscribers. The first time around I had about $1700 into the restoration. I had an 89 Banshee that I built up with the help of Trinity Racing back in 1995. It was a crazy bike built for shooting the dunes in California. I was 16 and did a complete frame up. It was a stage IV 420 long rod with their custom nitrous kit. Watching you build this bike up brought back good memories. Thank you!

U should do full video builds of the complete build again. Even tho I watched clip after clip as u build. But nothing bets a full wrap up of everything. And u should make a 2nd TH-cam channel where u post these hour++ long videos and full engine builds from start to finish. 2nd stream of income. I just a real big fan of your work and how u explain and film your work!!!!

You are the best Mike! I used your 4 mil build as a guide for my first full rebuild. I've learned so much and am still learning. I have never done big bore as I ride rough trails in Northern Ontario Canada. First top end I used was am port job and 66.5 bored out stock jugs, so on their last cut. Last spring right cylinder blew from sucking sand in the carb because I got someone else to to jet carb and he forgot to put balance hose back on carbs. This time I had Bondi port another set of stock jugs I had, but only bored to 65.5 and I used his jetting recommendations. The difference is incredible. It has power all threw the band now, whereas before it had no bottom end. Only power when it got on the main jet. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Love the vids man! The thing that sucks with banshee’s is squids always get ahold of them lol. You know the type of squids that call them “shees” and ride them hard asf and never keep up maintenance and probably run the crappiest oil possible. I wouldn’t be suprised if some of these dudes tried running like some vegetable oil as premix. 😂 I live in michigan and like every banshee is located in detroit and either stolen, clapped out and spraypainted, ran to redline 24/7, or wheelied through the streets lol. Plus half the ads are scams and people just try to rob you in detroit. Seems like dudes get them put tons of hours on them and crap all over them and then try to sell them for like 1000$ more than they paid just before its about to blow up. They will be like “mint banshee” then profile pic is them doing a burnout on it. 😂🤦♂️ glad you saved this one though she’s lookin mint bro!

Always wanted a Banshee since I first set eyes on one! Mike definitely had a huge influence on me pulling the trigger and finally making the purchase plus me getting my family into getting out and riding. Keep it up bro!

I had a 97 Yamaha Worrior, i put an A- arm kit a durablue axle, Works shocks and more. I put the 366 big bore kit in it. I brought it to the track that would let us run on. The reason why i bought the warrior is because of the electric start and reverse, the Banshee would have been too powerful for my wife anyways lol.

It could be any year man, people modify and change plastics over the years but if you've owned it since new you can look up a banshee color chart which has all of the colors and years of the banshee - dirtwheelsmag.com/banshee-spotters-guide/

My dad used to have a Banshee very similar to this one. It also was spray painted black with the paint peeling. His got stolen about 10 years ago. Great restoration job!

Before you started it up you should have put a mouse 🐭 nest in the air box and then started it and then run the bike until its went through the reeds and made its way into the crank and stoped the bike and then you make a noise like : ( Huuhhh)

My father has loved his DRIVELINE Assassinator cylinders on his 392
They make great power man; even unported and not setup correctly. I've ridden a few 421s and a 392 assassin; they definitely perform well

in the future, please don’t waste your time with vito’s. i’ve spent thousands with them, and i wish i hadn’t of. i learned the hard way that vito’s buys chinese reproductions for cheap in bulk, slaps their own sticker on it, and jacks up the price. it’s sad, because back in the day like 10-15yrs ago, vito’s was the best you could get for such a wide variety of parts. then “vito” sold the company to a guy named Ray and it all went downhill. in fact, he’s been in some sh*t for spray painting old parts and selling them for new… earning him the name “rattle can ray”
How much would you sell it for if you wanted to get rid of it ?

2 strokes seem so fast, but I am riding a 600cc 4 stroke, and it's quicker. Love the sound of the Banshee though.
Man brother, nice rebuild. I'm in the middle of a few ATV's that are older than usual in trying to find parts for. Kymco MXU 500, a TGB 425 Blade. I just finished a 2005 Honda rebuild after 9 months, although it looks nowhere near the attention to detail on your paint scheme.
Watched on TV. Great vid. Blew up? No shame. Great build. Stroker motor. Pushing to limit. Still great build and content. U not to far behind me. I always wondered what inside those Suzuki motors. Now I know. Along with the others. Thank you. Love riding anything 2 stroke. Quads. U know what mean.

Loved watching this video LOL brought back memories from the 2010-2015 I was rebuilding a lot of Two Strokes made a lot of these mistakes. I have 5 buckets of pistons needle cage bearings and wrist pins. With various issues.. Most are melted due to plugged mains.. Common issue back in the day a bike would sit and someone would get on it and rip
I do spray can restos also on some of my banshees I build. I do super similar process. Bare metal, prime, and paint. They hold up fine esp with clear coat. But ya I too like watching the build in individual vids, in series. And then later watching the hour long whole vid at once. Both style of vids r sick and I'm tuned right in!!! Running Like You Just Bought it Out The Store
I bought a 2007 Honda trx250ex that the front of the frame (suspension arms, grab bars , and ect....) were rattle-canned gloss black. I simply took a high power pressure washer and got all the paint of, primered it, and painted it the origional grey color to match. I enjoyed seeing you restore your frame and your quad in general, thanks for the great content.
"Chinese" top end off Ebay? Well....lesson learned hopefully. Company I work for went to them years ago to make gearbox housings that we use on our machines. Oh yeah, saved a ton of money due to the much lower cost. And, then, customers would call about cracked housings and failed units. Turns out they don't exactly use the same metals we do. The old mantra is still true....you get what you pay for!

This thing is really wild! You built a great engine! Banshee is unknown to me, dont think the sold in Sweden. I had an RD (RZ) 350 back in the days and I heard Banshee had the same engine, but with lower output?
