Now imagine whats it like when the nearest ambulance is 30 min away if its in station. Fire department is volunteer abd it takes then 10 min to get to the scene. Thats what its like in rural USA

Looks like to the driver is doing great. He’s cautious & gets there safe. I’ve had many ambulance rides & I approve of this one. 😊

Even with an emergency vehicle you have to STOP at every corner? It's going so slow.

It's called "due diligence". If he becomes involved in an accident as a result of the exceptions he is allowed to practice to the traffic laws during response, he can be charged criminally for damages, injury or even criminally negligent homicide.

It depends on individual state law. Some states require a stop before proceeding, other states do not . Most,if not all, require slowing down enough to assure safety. Most states require other drivers to yield the right of way, but the emergency vehicle does not have the right of way until it is yielded.

This is exactly why US need to change ambulances to Type2, based on mostly "eurovans", how they call it - Transit, Sprinter etc, they are light and agile compared to this truck based ambulance. The acceleration was so slow - no wonder, when this ambo weighs like a bus. Also the response seemed slow to me, intersections shown are clear to see, yet he rather stopped to take a look. I know that safety and carefulness is priority, but still.. Just my opinion :)

I agree. It's like they have to obey every STOP sign.
But this fits with their other ridiculous healthcare system.

Most EMS units require more equipment than will fit into a small vehicle. When I started we had a Cadillac ambulance. Not much room in there for much beyond basic first aid, especially if we had multiple victims. As for the intersections, some states require a complete stop, others do not.

How many DOA's does this driver get. Drives so slow.

Well, considering they were going to a hospital, they most likely were transporting the patient to another hospital where they have gotten their care that they needed at the first hospital so nothing immediately life-threatening has happening maybe?
