As a horror head, the films that have been rolling out recently have me so thrilled to be living in this age of horror. Loved Longlegs!!! I understand why some don’t like it, but it hit a lot of high notes for me and that’s all I can ask for.
@hollywooda111 I think it's how the ending is delivered. You could easily see it being shown more and less "tell." It makes it easier to digest but I think it would be more satisfying to interpret it myself through a little montage of "what happened that led to this etc"

I guess what's really got me hyped is that I have yet to find a single person in the horror community who's seen this n didn't like it. I just wanna feel actual fear and tension. It's rare for me to actually be scared of movies, aside from a jump here or there, I've seemingly seen it all.

While I think that this is a movie that I'd do well to let it sit with me a bit longer, I do feel like they made a mistake using such quotes as "scariest movie of the decade." Not even close. So I'd say to a lot of ppl who had really high expectations like myself, maybe taper them down a bit. There's tons of great cinematography and performances here, and certainly an unsettling atmosphere. It had my attention throughout. There's about 3 jumpscares that I remember, and one of them did get me pretty good. I just felt like this was a really interesting premise that could have gone a lot farther in its execution. Do not get up to go pee in the last 15-20 mins or you will be lost. I'll be interested in what other ppl have to say about in the coming weeks. Right now, off the cuff, I'd give it a 7.5/10, but that might change upon later rewatches.
I just saw it and I liked it. It wasn't the greatest or the scariest, but is was very well done and atmospheric. I also liked the movie Watcher with here. Also well done and very atmospheric. She has a good taste in movies to pick.
She says so much with her eyes. I can't stop watching whatever she's in. It's hypnotic. I didn't know she was in this and now I'm totally going to watch it!
you should watch "the stranger" she's also in it.. her performance was perfect.. its a series by the way, consists of 13 episodes (8 min duration each)
People who saw this film already said that Nic Cage delivers one of the most disturbing performances of all time! With Maika Monroe being a standout as well. Technical achievements: Makeup, Cinematography, Sound Design and Directing. I am super excited about this film!

I think we can acknowledge that the movie was chilling & disturbing (at least to those that agree). If it was not then that’s okay this movie was not your taste preference. Everyone does not have the same taste palette & that’s fine. I actually liked the lodge as well but I would have never put them two together. I will say I have an expanded taste palette when it comes to horror. Plus I choose to walk into horror movies blind since about 3 years ago because I have a much more fresh & exciting experience. I lntentionally avoid the trailer until after I see the movie.

In the very beginning of the official Trailer you can hear Cage say “cuckoo” after banging on a door, one of these strange noises seems like a distorted version of that. Not sure about that “scream” one tho
Reminds me a lot of the Alan Wake Storyline the detective trying to uncover and dig deep into the unfolding mystery of the horrific events that take place, really fascinating world building of the story.
From its start to when the end credits rolled, all of me was captivated by the storylines, cinematography, acting, and mood of this film. A huge thank you to all who were involved in this breathtaking film. 🌸
It was SO good, it follows is also so good. Both movies are equally spine chilling. Got out of Theater like an hour ago and I cannot get long legs out of my mind. This movie really stepped up the psychological horror game.
I'm looking foward to all three. I have never been this excited about going to the theater in such a long time. Anyway, it is good marketing: Deadpool 3, Maxxine and Longlegs.
I was also thinking It Follows. I love these kinds of movies so much. I really wish there were more. This movie was like a good True Detective season for me.
It Follows was a highly underrated movie. Watch it again, its gold. The score. Everything. Classy. No stupid 10 minute pointless sex scene even though its a “sex” based horror movie. Loved it.
I've seen it and the acting is fantastic, and an all together very well done film but unique or original are not words I'd use to describe it. There are superior films out there that tackle the same themes, however, again, the acting in this film is truly spetacular.

I've been a fan of hers since The Guest, almost didn't recognize her in this role. I can understand why some people don't care for Longlegs, but I enjoyed the slow burn.
To be honest watching this film the style of cinematography made it feel like you were there in the distant or in the other room and you would just have to sit and listen to what’s happening
im forreal so hyped bro. i cant remember the last time i was this hyped for a movie edit: one thing i keep reading/hearing is its something "youve never seen before" which normally comes off as a cheap tagline, but like everyone is saying it. im real curious what makes this so unique

Looking very glam there but 100% Maika is a Scream queen and her streak of picking unusual, interesting horror flicks is still going strong

It sounds like a distorted scream from an old video tape or something, lol. Just speculation. All I know is that sound messes with me.
