Thank you so much for this great video. I have had exactly the same problem and have been following your advice, and I am shocked to see what's going on with my hair. I have been using these same supplements for the last 4.5 months and I have 3" of brand new hair growth all over my head. I first noticed breakage from using a ponytail at night in the back of my hair just like you said you did. I stopped that and ordered a silk pillow case in addition to using the supplements. Now it's weird. I have SO much new growth, that my collar length hair is much longer than the new growth. But the new growth is going to make my hair much thicker when it all catches up to the longer hair. I will just keep trimming until the new hair blends in and is the same length. When I put my fingers through my hair, I can really feel the thickness. It's quite amazing, really. Thank you again, so much. This does all work. I am vigilant with it and do it daily. I am 64 years old. Honestly, I'm amazed. You are right. You say that you know it's working. I do too and I have proof! I can't thank you enough for pointing out this and I wanted you to know it absolutely works wonders.

I'm back and am now using your method for just over a year and the new hair growth I commented on 9 months ago has now grown out to about 8". Because my hair was already longish, all of the new, thicker growth was looking scraggly so I had my hair layered, something I'd never have done before because it was too thin to layer. Im so pleased that I followed your advice and now enjoy a fuller, thicker, longer head of hair than I've had in years! I'm 65. I've recommended your videos and this treatment to many others! Thank you for all of your health, fitness and beauty videos, tips and tricks. Like you, I believe we can be vital, vibrant and beautiful at any age.

@@mrs.h4484 silk is the fibre used - satin is the way it's woven.
So you can have polyester in a satin weave- it feels great but it doesn't breath (terrible for bed linen). You can also get silk in a regular weave which isn't necessarily soft and smooth. I've made business suits in silk.
The important thing is the satin weave and it must go in the correct direction - side to side- or it will be even worse.
Egyptian cotton in a satin weave is amazing and much cheaper and easier to launder than silk. Hope that helps.

To add to what she said, first the collagen comes in several different types. The type of collagen you want for hair, skin, & nails is Type 1 & 3. Type 2 is for joints. Its best not to take the different types together. As for the Biotin (Vit. B7), if you take a supplement, its best to take it in liquid form because it will be 100% absorbed in your digestive system, whereas, in solid (cap/tab/gel) form only partial absorption occurs. Also note, while these have shown to be effective, your general health also plays a vital role in hair growth. Hope this helps.

    2) Biotin B7 ( some people have Biotin reactions) not mentioned on this video.
    3) make sure your B complex is sufficient in your body lack of it affects nail hair and skin.
    4) increase collagen try it everyday
    5) vitamin B3 Niacin
Consult with your doctor always before taking anything.
Vitamin B3 helps with depression and anxiety

    8) Trim hair every 12 weeks

I’m a hair stylist and yes your hair won’t grow if you get it cut every 6 weeks. Hair grows 1/2” a month-if you get it cut every 6 weeks, you are mostly cutting all you’ve grown! I tell my long haired clients that want to grow their hair longer-to get 1/2” off once every 3 months! This is only if your hair is good to start with! If you start with 3” of raggedy split ends, you have to get those cut off before your hair will grow!! Damaged ends will just keep breaking off and never look any longer!!
Thanks for the video-I’ve never tried collagen!

Eating real food is best for nutrition (as opposed to processed foods, fast food, etc.) because food is very complex. I'm sure that we've only touched the surface of what we get from food in terms of vitamins and minerals; just taking pills is terribly inadequate. That said, the older we get, the more our metabolism slows down and the less we can eat, so supplements can help make up for the food we can no longer eat in such quantities.

Just be cautious with niacin because it can cause negative side effects on your liver. Just make sure your doctor is aware of all the vitamins you are taking. Even though it’s herbal or more natural, it can still affect certain organs which would be revealed in annual blood work. Also, what helps with mood/depression and blood flow is a combination of weight lifting and HIIT (high intensity interval training). Both activities boost HGH (human growth hormone) levels by 500-1000 percent. HGH decreases tremendously as we age and this is the most natural way to increase it. Higher HGH levels give you more energy, higher collagen production, less fat, an ability to retain muscle more and many more health benefits. Stay away from smoking or heavy drinking because both cause extreme aging as well. Also, it’s best not to consume collagen. Why harm an animal for your own benefit?

@@fabulous50s only niacinamide (which doesn't cause the niacin flush) can harm the liver. Niacin won't nor will inositol hexanicotinate (a inositol with 6 niacins attached). (you have to work up slowly, when you stop flushing at a lower dose, keep increasing to about 1000mg until no more flush, then back down to about 500mg a day giving the body a break occasionally. Great recommendations! Also try drinking aloe vera juice and/or applying the gel to your hair, it makes your hair thicker, stronger, and shinier. Castor oil is also really great, but for your kind of hair you would just need a small dallop mixed with a lighter oil like maybe almond oil so that it doesn't weigh your hair down while still giving it SERIOUS strength and an amazingly youthful and healthy shine.

WOW! That was really helpful! I am going to try the silk pillowcase. I put my hair in a ponytail at night and I have very fine hair and I didn't understand why the back of my hair was so thin. I just resigned it to the fineness of my hair. What a relief to know that there might be something I can do. I am really enjoying your videos. Thank you!

I read something about the silk pillowcase somewhere else too and it's supposed to be good for your skin (wrinkling) as well. I bought one and used it for 6 months and my hair actually got worse (thinner, falling out in clumps - I'm 52 and never had this problem ever!!!). I switched back to my normal egyptian cotton pillowcase and the very next week my hair looked and felt better already. It may work for some, but it didn't for me.

Ladies, a tip from island girls...coconut oil. Your hair will look really bad though smell good when you put it on the first day and you'll go ugh, why did she tell me that, it's stringy and clumpy. Wait till tomorrow when the oil is absorbed..your hair will be thick and gorgeous.

At 66 my hair isn't as long as when I was young when it was always long, as it doesn't suit my face now. But I want to tell you this that I came upon a while ago. Hair is an extension of the nervous system (think the film Avatar). Native American trackers believe that it is their long hair that gives them their ability. When they signed up with the army (Vietnam era) to do the same job, guess what, they had to have their hair shorn off. and couldn't do it any longer. Then they regrew their hair and the ability returned. Throughout the world warriors had/have long hair and I feel that it is vital for them (Samson?).

I turn 50 this week and I have lost half of my hair in the past couple of years and it continues to shed. I’ve been in menopause for five years and I think it is the blame for the rough texture of my hair. My hair used to be silky smooth and now I can’t stand to touch it. I get scared to wash my hair for fear of seeing the hair come off my head in the shower and then at the sink to comb out. My hair grows but it sheds SO much! I’ve been taking viviscal, but see no difference in the less shedding. I will change to biotin instead and amp up the supplements. Thank you the information.

susan - same!! In fact, I have been taking collagen for nearly a year now, along with homemade bone broth (a RICH source of natural collagen!!!)...finally bought a Dyson hair dryer, and after ~3 months of using it (which is my minimum duration now of waiting between trims), my hairdresser commented on how healthy my ends were, the very next visit!! With the Dyson, you can dry quickly on low, or NO heat - it’s a bit expensive, but SO worth it...bought on QVC to stretch payments out over 6 months. Had used 10G Biotin in the past, many years ago, and didn’t think it was doing much (had other health issues that may have affected its absorption); may combine that with Niacin and give it another go...also, fasting has SO many anti-inflammatory benefits. And as Kathy states, avocados are WONDERFUL!! Let’s live our best, healthiest, most beautiful lives, ladies - on OUR terms! ❤️😘

My long hair issue wasn't even an "age" thing at the time. I was in my early thirties with long thick blonde hair and a couple of my colleagues kept telling me that I should cut my hair due to the profession we were in ...I guess in their eyes they thought I needed to have a more professional look..but I refused and stayed true to myself and kept saying under my breath that God blessed me with this beautiful hair..why would I cut it off? Get rid of it? I was happy with my long hair and still have long hair and in my fifties. BTW- as far as it hindering my "professional" look- that was never an issue I became one of the best in my career. So long story short just do you...be true to yourself. Loved this video!

I had some hens do that to me at work, nursing, and I was screamed at by these two nurses. They'd wait until I showed in report and then talk about how men find women with long hair unattractive. They were nasty. It wasn't until I was in my mid-thirties that I realized they were just jealous.
I also get back-handed comments from family members about me taking care of myself and teaching my children the same, particularly my daughter. I live in my body, why would I NOT take care of where I live and teach my children the same? WIth young girls, it's even more important since it is tied to femininity.

I love the way you spell your name. It's really pretty. People who don't know how to get sulfate free shampoo or don't want to use it can "cowash" which means washing the hair with conditioner. Yes, it gets it _very_ clean. I didn't believe it would so I waited about five years to try it. Come to find out, once I did it I found out I have beautiful curls. Conditioners like Suave essentials coconut conditioner work perfectly for this.

This video is helpful. I was serious about hair growth and maintaining the youthful length, thickness and shine when I was 21. My favorite sulfate free shampoo & conditioner is Giovanni eco chic Tea Tree Triple Treat. I rest my head on silk pillowcases and the rest of my body with satin sheets. I'm not over 50 and I needed to find out what to do when I get to that point in life. I also make a hair growth spray that's made with distilled water, witch hazel and lavender, cedarwood and rosemary essential oils. Now thanks to this video, I'll start trimming my hair less.

Then fill the rest of the bottle with Witch Hazel (preferably Lavender or Rose Scented). And finally add a couple drops of Lavender, Cedarwood and Rosemary essential oils. I spray until my entire scalp has been coated. Then I comb my hair after that. I mostly apply it in the morning.

The perfect supplements is a little more expensive but it looks like you only need 1 scoop not 2. I'm definitely going to give the one you recommended a try.

Hi penelopepittstop100! Its great idea to put collagen in your coffee...genius! Perfect collagen is sourced from a pristine source in Brazil where no GMO's, pesticides, antibiotics or hormones used. Have an amazing weekend xx

Thanks for the tips. I'm 61 and have very thick hair and no split ends. I only cut my hair 3 times per year and only use organic shampoo. I use to wash my hair more but now only twice per week. I also have coarse hair and lost a lot of hair after my third child. This regime keeps my hair very healthy. I have been blessed with great hair colour as I age so no need to dye. I am going to try the supplements you suggest for their other properties. I'll have to research to find vegetain versions.

    1) Yes, I agree with the sulfate-free shampoo. I like Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor oil SHampoo.
    2) Yes, but I must take no more than 300% RDA because I will undoubtedly get acne and a biotin rash-I take a b-vitamin complex from Garen of Life. No synthetics!
    3) Yep. I do Collagen Hydrolysate. I like Nu Naturals grassfed bovine.
4 )See#2 Have you seen Dr,Berg's Videos? you should. I think you'd appreciate his information.
    5) Yes! I love mine. Lily Silk.
    6) I cut my hair twice a year.
I think wearing hair in a tight pony tail or in a super tight hairdos will cut off circulation and inhibit hair growth.
I also went for a hair conditioner that's dimethicone free. It builds up on the scalp. I like Living Proof Restore and Briogeo "Don't Despair, repair! Hair mask (I buy the 32oz and a half a pump works great as a daily conditioner.)
Evening primrose oil. I take 2 1300mg capsules. Great for skin too.
I am 42 (43 this coming july) I JUST got my first gray hair (near my ear) and My hair is long and I have a lot of it. It's super shiney too! I wash it just about everyday.

I have used it for 45 years! It is great stuff. I did a nutritional analysis in my nutrition class in Nursing school way back in 1985. It has some minerals that are really good for you and almost impossible to get anywhere else. I just recently started the hydrolyzed collagen in my powered green drink. Now I realize that I need to up it to twice a day. My hair i thinning and I think the collagen might help.

Oh my goodness; you’re just adorable. So encouraging with great information. Btw recently a doctor said you shouldn’t sleep with hair up at bedtime. He said it constricts the blood vessels to your scalp and can cause hair loss. I just stopped that! Like you I have long hair and hate it in my face all night LOL. Oh well we do what we must. New shampoo, and niacin for me 🤗

I've come across one of your videos before and benefitted from your makeup tips, and think about you every time I do my face. Now that I've found you again I'm smart enough to subscribe this time. Fingers crossed that this will restore my hair.
BTW-- I tried the pillowcase previously but cheaped out and did satin. So slippery it gave me a stiff neck from holding my neck in place all night and I had to get rid of it before I could reap any reward! I will definitely try silk.
One thing that *has* helped: fenugreek. Maybe because I'm perimenopausal. I noticed that taking fenugreek improved things, and stopping it made hair and skin much worse. (Skin went papery.)

    Thank you, for your advice.
It's helps a lot of women who are over fifty years older. Yes, hair is very important to us women and also, our skin. Life does not make it easy for us women to feel beautiful. Everything, start to change when you are over fifty years older. Yes, we all need to love ourselves because men don't make it easier us. I don't have a nice ass and I would like to make it nicer but no time or money surgery. So, think that working out will help a Little. Being a woman is not easy it's a bitch. Yes, I love and hate relationship of yourself. I would like to reborn as a man to save all women in the world that they are beautiful and worthy.

Thanks so much for watching Sandra! The best way for you to save all the women to feel beautiful and worthy is to feel that way yourself, about yourself...You don't need a man's permission to do that...You have all the power over what you think so start enjoying your female superpowers...I know you have them❤️

I’ve always had long thick hair until about 2 years ago. I noticed thick clumps coming out of my hair and I’m 36. I figured it could be hormones and stress. Im into taking vitamins but it can run into money. I like Mary Ruth’s organic liquid vitamins. I also heard Castor oil really helps with thinning hair and volume. I just started using. Thank you for your video I might also try using collagen. I hope I can find something that works for me.
