AMJGreenspy I use to think this type of stuff was exaggerated when I saw ppl talk like this on TV & movies til I lived in North Jersey for a year lol this really is everyday speech.
My father grew up in Sam's, and he used to bring us to eat there when I was growing up. Lou is a really nice guy, perfect business owner, comes out and chats with the guests, and the pizza is truly amazing. We actually eat it with a knife and fork because it is one of the few pizza's worthy of being treated like an entree.
@@gijoey5912 "Italian accents"???!!!...Neither one of them sounds like anyone in Italy. FYI.. It's a New York accent and people from all ethnic backgrounds speak that way in NYC
Such an inspiring story. 54 years old and realizes his true passion and now living the dream, just look at how happy he is!! Most people after 35-40, just give up and continue working 9-5 that they hate and say they are too old to follow a passion or a dream. You are never too old.
Our whole universe was in a hot, dense state Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started, wait The earth began to cool, the autotrophs began to drool Neanderthals developed tools We built a wall (we built the pyramids) Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries That all started with the big bang! I love the idea of taking someone proud of their food and confident enough to take you on a tour of their best competitors as part of the show before finishing at their place! Nice!
Paulie deserves every little bit of praise he receives. His pizza is unmatched and Paulie himself is a guy you just love to be around. Proud to call him a friend of mine. Way to go Paulie!
I love this episode. I want Paulie Gee to be my grandpa. I had a smile the entire time watching this episode and made me wish I would have gone to Brooklyn last time I was in NYC.
I've been to Paulie Gee's and he was very friendly. He came up to our table and had a conversation with us. Did not know he was the owner until I watched this video. We said we lived in Phoenix and he told us to go to Pizzaria Bianco in Phoenix. He is friends with the owner and claims they make the best pizza in the country. People should definitely try both if they can. Both very delicious!
Loved this episode! So much of pop culture refers to NY pizza. it was awesome to hear somebody so passionate and knowledgable, yet accessible at the same time. And that high praise from Pauly about Sean going big places was awesome!
So cool to see a veteran of the game who cares more about food than competition. He'll talk good about good food, even if technically these guys are competition. It's about the love of a good thing. Beautiful.
I really REALLY enjoyed this video! A lot of value, interesting history and facts, overall the entertainment was amazing! Thank you so much for what you do and the hard work!
I remember Paulie from the forums on Serious Eats back in the day and how he got things together to open his restaurant. Super nice guy and has forgotten more about pizza than I'll ever know. And Sam and Nino's are legit and well worth the trip to Brooklyn.
Way better than anything thats available on cable tv. Great Show Sean and crew! Pauly is right when he says your gonna be big, been here since you had 50,000 subs and I thought the same thing then. So glad to see this channel getting the attention it deserves!
Nino’s in bay ridge, Brooklyn. my old stomping grounds, I used to go to fort Hamilton high school not too far from there. Great memories in that neighborhood.
MauiWowieOwie focaccia is just an evolution of flatbread which was invented way before the Greeks. Italians invented the pizza we are familiar with today.
The actual pizza, was made in Marseille, south France. Original pizza was only bread tomato and oignon. There is a lot of italian immigrants from Napoli livin in Marseille, and the french added the cheese.
The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy. The precursor to pizza was focaccia or flatbread with variable toppings, close but not pizza. These flatbread concoctions have been dated back to 10,000BC. The Italians took an ancient recipe and made it a worldwide phenomenon, this is a cited fact.
Man, I´ll watch this from time to time. Pizza is science and art. Thanks for the ride Seaun, really really apreciated it, liked and shared it as much as I could. People have the right to see that video. .
Ocean Shark That's definitely true. I'm on the west coast. All I ever here is that classic New York pizza is the best. Can't wait to give it a shot myself.
Ok, One criticism.. Sean needs to show his reaction to the pizza he said almost nothing about it and they didn't even show him enjoying the pizza this seems to be the theme in these types of first we feast videos. otherwise good stuff.
this video is my top ten favorite. I'm Italian. This video hits me right at home. It's perfect. I'd love to meat Pauly G. he seems like the nicest man.
I never said I was from Italy, my heritage is Italian. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood, when you walked down the street at night all you'd smell was amazing food. I don't live there now. So where I do live now is a lot less of an Italian community. When I say hits me at home I mean it takes me back to my childhood. But if you must know my grandparents came over from Sicily.
That interaction between those old Italian guys was fucking gold
Seems straight out of a sitcom with the camera work and everything.
AMJGreenspy That's just how we New Yorkers talk to each other.
AMJGreenspy I use to think this type of stuff was exaggerated when I saw ppl talk like this on TV & movies til I lived in North Jersey for a year lol this really is everyday speech.
That interaction between Paulie and Lou talking about pizza is the most Brooklyn Italian thing that could ever be.
Thick Italian accents, ball-busting, and threats of violence. They hit the the trifecta.
My father grew up in Sam's, and he used to bring us to eat there when I was growing up. Jay Julio but why his hands so small?
Sean is always on point. Dude's a good host.
Marty / What r u talking bout
This dude was really down to earth and cool.
"Sean's going on to big things." He's right and he's pretty endearing about it, too.
He looks like a really good movie director
You mean like, Martin Scorsese?
AirAssault7 He does resemble Martin.

True, but the sentiment remains. Loved the video.

Netflix should make this a series
Munchies by Vice has a pizza series that was really good with all these places
Why? It's right here and it's free...
DJ Kento it's just a joke bro
Akeel Aslam Well then it looks like 92 people missed the joke.

Paulie Gee is awesome. He comes around to the tables and talks to everyone and he’s just great
Man the dialogue between Paulie Gee and Louis is classic New York conversation between an owner and a customer
I swear Paulie can bs me with any speech he throws out any day. Every question he answers is perfectly worded full of heart man...
"I got no clams" "...fuck" lmao had me rolling. Love the New York Culture especially the Italian folk one love from your Indian brother 🙏🏽

zaparmy2010 crowded, garbage, & rats stealing pizza. NYC sucks!
EmperorBubba I went in 2014, literally ate my fat ass around the whole place - juniors In Brooklyn was a highlight, you'l love it
PersonWithNumber003748182 hell yeah and get faded at night
@EmperorBubba unless it's garbage night. Then it stinks. And if you're lucky you'll see a bum sleeping on the bags.
Sean you're my favorite host on this complex channel man, shiiiit your my fave on this full TH-cam. keep up the good work. 👌👌👌👌👌
one of my favorite things in the world is the banter between two old men that know eachother
Sean is my hero. Such a genuine dude
I just ate before I watched and now I'm so hungry. Great video. Sean you're THE MAN!
Great job Sean. You chose a real character and it made this really enjoyable to watch.
paulie is the man!!!! he's a real nice guy too, always stops at the table to chat up my folks and i :) nyc 4ever!!!
First we feast is the saving grace of TH-cam
This was straight out of The Sopranos, loved it!!
Loved this episode! Paulie Gee looks like a real good guy you can sit and talk to for hours!
That guy's great. Can he adopt me as his nephew?
Sean's probably a little busy right now, but it's nice that you'd ask.
Nino’s in bay ridge, Brooklyn. my old stomping grounds, I used to go to fort Hamilton high school not too far from there. Great memories in that neighborhood.

I could just watch pizza making all day. As long as I could eat pizza all day.
These guys sound like an episode of The Sopranos 😂
Matt Pritzl loooooooooooooooooooooool
Ironically pizza was invented was in Greece. But the italians added tomato sauce so they get the credit.

the accents are fantastic, great show

I disagree, he's not trying to pass himself off as some sort of expert, he's in it to learn like the rest of us.
barrettdc1 fuck you bud, if he was a poser then he'd be trying to pass it off like he's an expert, which he clearly does not do.
Rawkstar I agree, that was my only problem, it was weird in those silent parts, no reaction on Mike's Hot Honey Sauce... :/
Slow Season ya, he's not trying to be Bourdain or Action, Sean doing his own thing.
Have a fuckin' cry, mate. He's not trying to be someone he's not, but if he was, you'd call him fake. People just gotta be salty over everything.
I love how he switches back and forth from completely wholesome to complete ballbuster seamlessly.
Great Episode
Paul seems like such a nice guy! Would love to have a slice of pizza with him!
Love it, love everything about it.
Paulie G is the man!!!! Good job Sean keep it up!!!
thier accents are the best
Awesome episode, with awesome Guests!

Paulie G has the best Pizza in NYC. Period.
You forgot to go to lucali in carol gardens in Brooklyn. Great spot
He wasn’t around. It’s not just about the pizza, it’s about the people.

Noah doesn't sound like much of an Italian name to me.
Okay? My first name is biblical because of my mom and grandparents.
Interesting. Where in Italy are you from? You use a lot of Americanisms.

sean never fails to deliver. lovin' your shit, man.

You know how some people complain about not knowing what to do with their hands?
Sean doesn't have that problem. Love you, Seanie.
