You've done it again. You made my heart pound as soon as I saw your cozy thumbnail! You inspired me to read books again after a long time of abandoning them because of me, trying to fit into the crowd. Thank you for the cozy contents
oh it is my pleasure! 🤍 thank you for the support, i’m so happy to know that you’ve started reading again 🥰 it’s truly the best thing ever to read for pleasure! 💖💖
i did a desk tour a while back and an organidation segment for my hobby desk in another video! 🥰 though i’ll be reorganising my desks again so i’ll have an updated video on this 🤍🤍
You don’t know how much you adore your channel! You are the reason I started watching cosy vlogs and omg you’re my favourite one! Keep making these amazing content ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing so much about your day to day. Always love them!!❤. Please read Legends and Lattes. It’s a wonderful little read about love set in a unique fantasy realm!!
Another cozy vlog, thank you Cath. Thanks to your vlogs I think i've read more books this month than any other month in 2024. Started to get into digital ARC requests and already have two accepted, so thanks for the advice! 🥰 Loving your cozy journal content as always. 💗💗
We're in the middle of week 4 of 40-degree (or more!) days where I live 🏜, and it's just so nice to see someone wearing sleeves. 🤣 I'm yearning for the cozy days of autumn and winter again, so I'm living through your vlogs! I keep a box of old paper and ephemera under my desk for journaling and working on my new grimoire, which is not really about spells but more about finding direction in life. I have so much stuff now that I need to get a little storage cabinet to sort it. I've recently gotten into glue books too, so it will all have a purpose someday. You really outdid yourself with your spread for The Spell Shop and The Familiar! Well done! 🫖📖🖊🍵
hahaha and here i am craving for some sun! i miss the warm days 🥹 i’m glad you’re enjoying the vlogs though! 🤍 that honestly sounds so amazing, i love organising my ephemera and finding homes for everything :) thank you so much for the kind words 🥹🫶🏼
The way I gasped when I saw The Spell Shop book in the thumbnail, I'm literally in the middle of reading it and it's so lovely! I knew this video was gonna be good haha
😍 I absolutely ADORE your publisher spread for the spell shop! 😍 did you plan/map the layout somewhat out before creating it because I'm genuinely awestruck by how well everything fit and how aesthetic it is! ✨️
thank you SO much!!! 🥺 i think for this spread in particular i didn’t actually cut out the clips very much! i planned as i filmed and sped up the clips, which looked like i did the layout very quickly 😅 it takes me around 30 minutes to complete a whole spread and i make up the layout as i see fit with lots of trials!
I just wanted to say that your enthusiasm for books has inspired me to purchase some. I think I said in another video that I bought The Spellshop, and now I've purchased Babel. I'm looking forward to them. 😊
Loved the finishing touch on your review for The Spellshop @ 20:40. Really tempted to read some of the books that you read and did a review on, but I have lots of book that I haven't got to yet. 🥲 recently found your channel and I love your videos. 💜
haha thank you so much! 🥰🤍 i totally understand! i always add new books to my tbr when there are the books on my shelf judging me 😂 i’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the videos! 🥹🥹
So gorgeous!!! For cozy fantasy recs, I just finished buried in friendship, middle grade cozy fantasy that I would describe as the hobbit meets stardew valley, finished it in one sitting (it’s quite short). But a very enjoyable and cozy read!
Can I ask, do you usually journal about books you didn’t enjoy or gave 2-star ratings? It seems like you never dislike anything you read, and as someone who’s DNFed three books this month alone, I’d love to know how you find the joy in every book you read 😖 Or if you don’t, how do you deal with books you aren’t enjoying?
good question! i actually do not, mostly because they don’t inspire me enough to create a dedicated journal spread 😅 and yes that’s right! my rule of thumb is that if i don’t enjoy a book up until the halfway mark, i put it aside temporarily. it’s normal to DNF a book every now and then, and i like to check what contributes to my DNFing. most of the time it’s the hype (ie. i pick up a book for its popularity and end up disliking it). but there are times where i DNF a book, put it down for a while, and then pick it back up only to REALLY enjoy it, so it could be the mood that affects your thoughts! in any case, i give the book a chance by reading at least a few chapters before i decide to go on or not :) this is also how i avoid reading slumps. i’ll only finish reading a book if i’m genuinely enjoying it! i hope this helps ☺️
Okay, I realized I don't really have cozy ANYTHING to recommend 😅 but a very quick and thrilling 5 book series (that was turned into a Netflix show I am afraid will ruin the magic of the books) is "Lockwood and Co." Really fantastic mystery, paranormal, children facing adult problems theme. I ate these up and then started a week long reading slump when it ended, thinking perhaps I should have slowed down a bit to enjoy them more. So. Very. Good 😭 I felt the same with the Tiger's Curse saga and the Iron Fey saga, both by Julie Kagawa. Very Interesting stories. Fast-paced, fantasy, action, magic, romance, battle. They have everything. 🤩
thank you so much lovely!!! that sounds like an amazing and cozy series 😍 i love the sound of it already! those books were my childhood haha :’) they’re so nostalgic! 🤍🤍
You should read "A Soul As Cold As Frost" by Jennifer Kropf, which is book 1 in a series of 3 which are all fantasy novels and I really think you will like!
