MIRIAM! You rock star! Aw what a lovely film... massive bravo. So lovely to see this, I LOVED this!!! The shot of you getting your bags over a fence made me laugh ahh that is me!! I loved the image of you sitting in the tent door, looking out at the big lovely world..... I kind of felt that was me too, I loved that shot. So brave of you to do your first chemo ride in such short cold days. Brilliant of you. At least when it was me I could start in July! easy peasy! Aw I hope your ride made you as glad as I felt (feel), I had been so down and despairing having scans and waiting for results and having an op and stuck and everything black and then told I had to do chemo again and more hard hard days stretcing and I hadnt even wanted to look at my gear I felt so despairing, but then I thought well if I can still do little rides even teeny tiny ones that will make it feel different, and be me again. I remember I felt so happy just getting my gear out again, I couldnt believe I was doing it but I made a little pile of gear and then whilst I had each treatment cycle, did little preps to the pile and I knew was going to go out... even the edge of london where I was felt soooooo amazing it is amazing, I was sooo happpyppppyyyy, each time... Hope you continue to feel good and strong and have got a little pile ready for the next trips and maps to stare at and dream if sometimes you feel weak and rubbish I used to do that, and hope you take strength from the support us all here who love what you do xxxx
Feeling anything but a rock a star Susanna - but I'll take it 🤩 I didn't have chemo my first time round, just a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. This time round its chemo first and a definite mastectomy afterwards but I haven't had the conversation yet with the surgeon to determine if its a single or double considering my previous diagnosis with the other breast. Possible radiotherapy then and also a targeted treatment for 12 months (I've a HER2 Positive tumour). I also need to decide whether I want to go the reconstruction route. So...its all consuming as you well know and this little trip provided a helpful opportunity to focus on what I really enjoy. I ended up missing my chemo session this week as I picked up a gastro bug and was floored on the day I was due in the hospital so they told me to stay away. I spent 36 hours in bed and feel much better now - everything got knocked back by a week so hopefully I won't have any more of those setbacks. Those shots you picked were definite traits of your videos too for sure, I always recognise the effort and ease you portray 😊 Right now there isn't another video I want to make - the video of Inis Mór was literally in my head for 2 years so an urgency came to do it now! I've nothing else that I feel drawn to video yet so we'll see when that urge arises again 🤞 I really appreciate the amazing TH-cam support that has come my way to remind me of the lovely things in life and and pleasure I have with a camera and with those watching my little creative outputs 😎 Delighted to hear you have some editing planned for the next while!! That should inspire my adventure and creative juices again too!! Thanks for your lovely message Susanna - your rock chick status lives on!! xxx
Oh Miriam I am so sorry that this is what you have to go through. Sorry you got that gastro bug. Argh the last thing you need. Hope the next round has been going OK. I know what you mean about all consuming. A whole world of its own to get to grips with that I never wanted to be part of. But god so many people are arent we, sadly. About HER2, my first time round was HER2 positive too actually, and ER positive. This time, just ER positive apparently. A few years after my first mastectomy, I had a second one, to reduce risk. I didnt bother with reconstruction. That was what I decided to do. It is good they have all these options. Actually if I had had reconstruction, I would prob not have been able to feel the new lump that I had recently. So yeh I am glad I didnt bother about it. So grateful that I have access to all these things through the NHS, I know I am so lucky compared to many peoeple in different places. bla bla I better stop writing! Yep you rock! Thank you again for the gorgeous Inis Mor film so inspiring and gentle and wild and beautiful! Sending best wishes! xxx
Thanks very much Susanna for sharing your treatment journey, I appreciate that a lot ❤️ I was ER pos the first time round also and did 5 years of Tamoxifen. So crap that it developed again for you following the mastectomies - the reality of risk statistics hit me when I when your message. Like you said, the availability of treatments can make outcomes so different. Life certainly is fragile and nothing like that reality check hitting us in the face to remind us to smell the roses (or tent fabric) when we can or think of it. Wishing you the very best today and I look forward to seeing your recent adventures!! xx
Your best yet if you don’t mind me saying so. Hard to say exactly why, just the heart and soul of the whole thing I think. Stealing your chance like the bird in the bread basket. Raw enthusiasm delivered to camera in a manner that clearly loves if we see this place as you see it but also cares precious little about anything less valid in the moment of this trip. What better reason to be there. Uplifting. Belter of a video. Those who have to fight adversity in life don’t just stand to win for their own good but are also a huge inspiration to those who may worry how they themselves will stand if they ever have to fight too. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer. We need all our hero’s. That’s perhaps why ‘your little story’ as you called it and this video is important. Respect to you Miriam.
Stealing my chance like the bird in the bread basket 😂 You've such a gift with words Robin! I had a friend over last night who always comes over when I post a video to watch it with me. We then watched 3 of your videos on the TV and she (like me) was blown away by what you do. I have huge respect for what you create and how you package it - you inspire me greatly too! I don't have your gift of expression, yet I feel inspired to find those words too - if not for others, for myself. I was blown away by what Susanna Thornton did on her trips when on chemo and it definitely inspired me to realise I might be able to feel well enough to do that too. Chemo is very strange and it's hard to describe the physical experience of what its like...and of course there are so many different types of chemo and the variation of how ones body will respond. But you're right - to know that you might be able to still get out and about every now and again is a powerful message that I heard too 😊
@@MiriamKennedy Thank you. You know how much I appreciate that just as anyone else who keenly fiddles with a GoPro and all it sees also knows. There are plenty of ways the internet can be bad, but plenty of ways it can be hijacked for the greater good too and this chapter you are in is a perfect example. You have passed the baton on and it’s a baton we all need to catch. Keep on pecking at the bread basket 💪
Great to see you out on the Brompton again, it's so cool how you can stash it so easily. I really enjoyed your video and it's great to hear that you're doing well with chemo. I really hope that you can keep getting out when you are feeling strong enough. Your time spent in Co. Down sounds amazing. Hopefully you can find a little cottage on Inis Mór to spend a summer in. That would be amazing, imagine that, waking up there every day and walking along the coast. I was thinking to myself as I watched you cycle past the houses, how lucky those people are to live in such a wild and beautiful place. Love it, take care 🍀
Cheers Jason! Very glad I felt able for it - there is a rhythm to the treatment in terms of when I feel well enough for activity...hopefully I'll continue to have those windows when I'm able for anything! Absolutely - that cottage will need to be rented at some stage. I'm not going to live out my days and deny myself that opportunity - thats what renting the cottage in Co Down was about but this other dream will need to be honoured too in time! 😉 Thanks so much!!
Miriam, I hadn't realised you weren't well. I so hope you get your health back. Look after yourself and keep taking the best medicine of all - fresh air. Martin ❤
South African here, I have a special memory of crossing over on the ferry and cycling up and down Inis Mor while riding to Roundstone eight years ago; it was the first time I heard Irish being spoken on my trip to Ireland, which somehow made the Black Fort seem more meaningful if you get what I mean. Thank you for the lovely trip down memory lane and All the best with your treatment
Thanks very much for your good wishes! Great to hear you had a good trip to Inis Mór and that you appreciated the Irish language being spoken 😊 Wonderful also that you visited the Black Fort - a place that is quite often overlooked. Very nice to hear from you 🤩
Miriam, I'm so sorry that you're having to have chemo. As another female hiker, your videos really inspire me and I want to be you when I grow up! Sending all the love and healing vibes. You got this xx
Your message gave me a giggle, thanks! 😂 Thanks for your lovely encouragement also - I’m hanging in there and feeling good this week 😉 Wishing you the best also and thanks again!!
Hi Miriam - well guess who's coming over to Ireland at the end of August.....yip, that'll be me. I'll be over from the 29th Aug - 10th Sept. Making my way from Larne, following parts of the Wild Atlantic Way in my little Berlingo, wildcamping between van nights. I know I definitely need to see Inis Mor, but on the way I'm planning on hitting Muckish Mountain, Achill Island, Wild Nephin National Park and many other places. I'm busy researching it all now. If you were free for a meet-up camp that would be amazing, but obviously I know this is very short notice, but I did say I'd let you know if I was ever over your way. I hope you're keeping well. Just commenting on this video because I'm that excited to visit Inis Mor I've watched this a few more times 😂🏕
Oh my god!! Feckin brilliant - we’ll definitely catch up for a camp! 🤩 My mobile number is +353 (0)87 7698306 - are you on WhatsApp? My email is camogiemir@gmail.com
Beautifully filmed with wonderful pace. I love the way you let the landscape speak for itself through cinematography and a subtle selection of music. Thanks for sharing.
@@jonsealwoodturning4673 thanks very much Jon! Such beautiful landscape that I enjoyed showing off 🤗 Thanks for taking the time to watch it and send me a message!! 😎
Aww thank you so much!! Not feeling so strong these last few weeks but hanging in there m, delighted I got to do this trip when I did 😊 Thanks very much for your lovely message!!
Another beautiful post, with amazing, rugged, and barren landscapes. Definitely one of those places where a drone is needed to really show the scenery off. I'm so glad that you're doing well, and not washed out by the chemotherapy. Watching you smile away, whilst rattling down the rocky lane, warmed my heart. It's so nice to see you doing what you love. I do hope you enjoyed this trip as much I did watching it. It was a lovely post, that I'm sure your subscribers will appreciate the effort you took to film it, to edit it, and arrange the music; at a time that you probably feel like internalizing much of what is happening. As usual, I'm looking forward to your next film, so I have my fingers crossed that your next Chemo sessions will continue to not tire you or take to much out of you, or your spirit. Take care of yourself Miriam! 😊
Cheers Tim!! I've had some washed out days already where a walk is too much for me but I've eventually bounced back. The 2 week breaks seem to allow good recovery time and then I'll go quiet again for a few weeks until I get that break again (assuming my body continues to respond in that way)! All these lovely messages are a huge boost too - I can understand the buzz that people possibly feel from posting regularly and getting that 'hit' of positive feedback...very addictive! Cycling with one hand on that rocky lane could have been disastrous alright 🤭 I had a great time Tim and I'll live on the fumes of that trip for the next while for sure 🥳 Hope all is well with you!
@@MiriamKennedyHiya Miriam, hope you don't mind, but I'm just checking up on you again, in a nice way tho! Hoping that ur feeling well and energised and ur spirits are high..and ur taking gud care of urself!?!? Thinking of U!😊
@timporter8886 Hi Tim! I’m feeling pretty good thanks - I’m on a 2 week break again so I’m getting some time to recover before the next session. My energy and form are pretty good aswell thankfully 😉 I’ve been getting out for little walks most days and indulging in some box sets for entertainment! Hope you have a lovely break over the Christmas and that some cake and chocolate will be enjoyed!! 😎🎄
Just watching your video again, honestly, I watch most of them more than once. Thank you so much for making the effort! I think about you often and all that you’re going through. Sending lots of love and good thoughts across the pond. I can’t wait for your next adventure.
Thanks so much Krystal ❤️ What an amazing gift to read your lovely message this morning…so nice 🤗 I’m nearly finished chemo now, infact my last session is tomorrow! I’d love to be able to get out for an adventure in March so fingers crossed I’ll be able to! I’ve been plotting routes and have a plan in mind which has given me something nice to dream of. Thanks so much!! Your message gave me a lovely lift this morning 🙏 x
Really enjoyed your video Miriam, I have read all of the late Tim Robinson’s books and visited Connacht several times but not yet the Aran Islands. This video was the right pace, I could have done with more! I hope your health has improved and you are now clear and 100%. I’m going to watch more of your work, it is relaxing and entertaining - many thanks 👍😎
@@Neil-pq3ze Hi Neil! Very glad to hear you enjoyed this trip to Inis Mór, such a great place. I’m planning to visit the island again in a few weeks time with a friend (without the camera) and I’m certainly looking forward to it! 🤗 I have read one of Tim’s books but I must admit it wasn’t an easy read for me. I hope you get to visit Inis Mór at some stage - especially if you’ve enjoyed other parts of Connacht. Many thanks for your message!! 😊
Yet another wonderful video Miriam, thankyou again for returning to The Aran Islands. I spoke with you under a year ago when you went to Inishmean, I myself was born on Inishmore, now living in England. Wonderful to see your energy and views of the island and love your drone film. As a child in the 60's my late mother took myself and my brother to the wormhole so, was nice to see it again this way via you. I do wish you well in good health so do take good care. My kind regards to you Tomas O 'Flaherty
Hi Tomas - nice to hear from you again 😊 So great to be reminded that you were born on Inis Mór…wow! What a place to have hailed from! This was such a special trip for me to do, I’ve stored some great memories from my time there now. So much to see and it’s impossible not to be moved by the power of the place. A very sacred place! Delighted you have those memories of the wormhole, lovely to have heard about them 🙏 I’m doing very well (apart from a banjaxed knee and a crick in my neck) 🫣 Thanks again!
@@MiriamKennedy Love your videos Miriam you have a lovely aura around you that gives out ease, strength and grace and I give you much respect and sent support for your good health. I visited my island and the other 2 some 8 years ago, was wondrous to see the other 2 at last. I always try to visit other islands when last abroad, guess it must be my being born on an island thing!!. Sorry the unpredictable weather halted your time there, I got soaked on InishMean but loved it even more as I lay in a field up against a stone wall getting damn wet lol. Not religous Miriam but call myself spiritual and always feel that sensation on those islands, more so when the majority of tourists have gone home and you can feel in touch with the serenity and deemed isolation of the surroundings. Real glad to hear your doing very well now, stay good lady. If your ever in Nottingham to come say hi and I'll show you around Sherwood Forest et al Take great care now. Tomas formerly of Killeany, Inishmore.
@@thomasoflaherty3520 I feel it too Tomás - the islands keep calling me back before long. Loved that image of you crouched down at a stone wall in the rain - magic 😂 Thanks so much and wishing you well in Nottingham!
@@MiriamKennedy Re the pouring rain? I couldn't escape with no trees to hide under! So accepted my fate and by the end of the soaking it actually felt good as the sun came out. Good old Aran islands. All the best now.
Very impressed that you are staying so active while undergoing the chemo. Let alone, making beautiful, intriguing bike-packing videos like these! What a great channel to stumble upon. Best wishes for your recovery Miriam. Keep moving no matter what!
Thanks very much! Very glad I felt well enough to do this trip and I’m very glad you stumbled across these little videos too! Thanks very much for your good wishes - I got out for a walk today with my stove and had the pleasure of making some tea watching the clouds and mist move across the mountains. Take good care and thanks again 🙏
Thanks Doug! Such a beautiful place and one that I wanted to visit with a camera for about 2 years and eventually got to do it 😉 I had a great time - thoroughly nourishing!!
It's great seeing you out and about while still undergoing chemo treatments. Thanks for taking the time to film and narrate. The blowholes/wormholes are fascinating and spectacular. What a wonderful location. I'm an old guy now and a Yank. Seeing you on your Brompton makes me want to watch the timeless/award-winning classic movie "The Quiet Man" about the mythical and enchanting Irish village of Inisfree. You probably didn't know your pleasant, peaceful videos have something in common with one of the greatest Hollywood movies ever. Just thought you should know. You should be appointed as an ambassador for Irish tourism and outdoor activities.
Ahhhhhhh 🤗 That’s very lovely of you to say!! It was great to do this trip with the camera, it brought me so much pleasure to show off this beautiful spot - I had hoped to do it for a very long time and then an urgency possibly came to do it now while I was feeling good and to have that adventure for myself! The encouraging and supportive comments have been so lovely to receive - yours included!! Lovely to hear you’re a fan of The Quiet Man - I’ll take your word for it that you see a similarity (ha!) - the Irish landscape fills me up so I love that you appreciate what you saw!! 😎 Thanks so much and I hope all is well in the lovely desert for you!!
Hi from Australia. Loved this video and your photography skills, your bravery and your wild adventurous spirit. My chemo journey was 7 years ago. I cried when I read your diagnosis...I was in complete shock. What can I say...I admire both yours and Susannah T’s brave “nothing stops me” attitudes. I’m in awe of you both. I’m 75 next month so I don’t believe I’ll physically visit the haunting beauty of Ireland, so thank you for bringing me a voyeuristic shared trip of your adventure. I send you courage and a BIG hug...stay strong and of course I wish you a full recovery.
@@CarolFox-ut2fg Hi Carol all the way over in Australia! So lovely to read your message from a sofa in Dublin 😊 I’m very sorry to hear you walked the chemo path also but so good to hear you’re walking tall 7 years later! I will happily capture some more haunting beauty of Ireland thinking you might watch it from Australia 😎 Thank you for your encouragement and support and I wish the very best for you too!! ❤️xx
I had a blood cancer and, after 7 wonderful, grateful years, I have checks 4 monthly. That tells me my friendEMY is likely to return. I live opposite the ocean, with wild Bush in front of me, kookaburras nesting, (check out a kookaburras dawn laugh) lavender in my garden with native and blue banded bees on it. I kayak with a Prijon Marlin ..did 19.5 Klms recently and ride my ebike and organic garden. Life is very altered to me preC days... less energy, more selective of the energy I allow into my world... but I am supported by loving people...I feel blessed to have had those years. I wish you many wonderful years ahead and hope that you are supported by loving, caring relationships. I love your cheeky smile as you set off on another adventure. I just wish I could send you photos of the tropical, wild beauty of where I live...the walks in the National Park, the vistas of white flannels flowers, the whales migrating. Off to learn how to play croquet today. Keep smiling and being cheeky and hatching another adventure. Xx
You clearly love your home and describe it so beautifully! 😊 I spent 9 months in Australia in 1999-2000 and I've still very fond memories of my time there and the wonderful sounds, smells and people that I came across. Maybe I'll venture there again some time! Like you, I'm a lot more selective about my energy in recent years. This is my second rodeo with cancer and since 2015 I seemed to lose interest and motivation for foreign travel and have wanted nothing more than occasional nights away on my own to see parts of my own homeland that I have yet to see. It is still enthralling me until now anyway...hopefully I'll keep wanting to hatch adventures and create memories with the camera while I'm able! I will imagine the wild beauty of your surroundings but of course it won't come close to it! You are very lucky by the sounds of things!! 🤗
@@MiriamKennedy Have 2 weeks off work so thinking of an adventure, Wicklow mountains for a day hike. Had such a good time on my first adventure, even a moment when I was at the end of the hike, had this feeling of elation for over a minute, unbelievable. I'll lite a candle for you because of the challenge your facing and include you in my prayers. God bless.
Inspirational Miriam , love the Arran Islands, had the privilege of camping on Innisheer, a while back. Dosent matter how dark and moody your wild camp adventures are, you have that inner glow and light that always brings out the best of the wild places you travel to. I am humbled by your courage, a lesson to all as you embrace life head on .
Thanks very much Colin! I remember your wonderful video of Inisheer very well - taking a lift on the cart and the great shots of the horse and the Plassy...what a fun trip that was! When the good days are here it has been great to get out and move and it was so good to feel I could trust the sense that I'd be able for this trip (very glad it worked out that way anyway!) Hopefully when I get those 2 week breaks again I'll continue to bounce back so well 🤞 I hope all is well for you these days!!
Hope you are on the road to a full recovery Miriam.Wishing you a happy new year with plenty of adventure to film and share with us.Have a great 2024!! 🍾🏕
Aw thank you Joe! I’m doing ok - I’ve 7 of 12 chemo sessions completed now so it feels good to be over the half way mark of chemo anyway. A bit floored at times but hopefully it’s doing its job 😉 Thanks so much for your message and I wish you many great adventures for 2024 and I hope it’s a great year for you! Have a nice night if you’re up to anything! 😎
Just discovered this and watched intently. You're a very natural presenter, makes me comfortable watching. Then the work you did on video was amazing. Loved the drone shot of the cairns. It was placed at just the right height to tell that story. Well done to you for a wonderful video. I'll watch a few more.
This video is just a poem...wow! For a second I thought it was about Arran. Doesn't matter...Inis Mór is just beautiful. I have to read about it's history and ancient inhabitants. Thanks for taking us with you and may you have a 2024 you wish for
Hi Miriam so sorry to hear that you are unwell you are an amazing woman. Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful video and drone footage I was there on a school trip many years ago now some time I hope to go back for a weekend maby. Very happy for you that you were able to do your beautiful trip and wish you the very best with your treatment and hopefully you will get better so you can spend some time in the cottage you mentioned in your video 🙏🙏🙏 absolutely enjoyed watching
Hi John - thanks for your message! Like you, my first visit to Inis Mór was on a school trip. So lucky to have been given a taster that time and what a cool place that we were brought to! I was so glad to be able to make this trip with the camera, I'd actually been thinking about it for about 2 years so I was thrilled to finally make it. I hope you get back there some day, you'll love it!! 😊
Thank you Miriam for this stunning video. You have made my week! I love the west of coast of Ireland and I have had a lovely short break on Inis oirr. The drone shots were amazing. Wishing you all the best with your treatments and future adventures. Oh, and based on your clothes I think we share a favourite colour!
@@misspiggy9867 Hi Miss Piggy! Delighted to hear you enjoyed this video…I so enjoyed making it! I was last on Inis Oirr almost 40 years ago I now realise - I’d like to get back to see it again with the bike and camera…maybe this autumn/winter I’ll do that! We’ve obviously got very good taste in colours 😂
The rock formations look like Inukshuk/inuksuk from the Iqaluit people. Just found your channel and am enjoying several videos. Good lord, Ireland is so much like Newfoundland.
Thank you Maureen! That’s so interesting to hear, Newfoundland must be a very special place 😉 Really nice to hear from you and I wish you well today!! 🙏
Loove your work, your videos are so inspirational and this is no exception. The drone just takes it to another level visually and your positiveness raises it another level emotionally. I am so glad you were able to find a window where you could get away between treatments and weren't feeling too lousy. Be kind to yourself, stay strong and remember you're the same lovable self. Having been down this breast cancer journey as well, sending hugs to help you get through it.
Thanks so much Franny, that means a lot! So great to have a little weather window when I had a health window also 😉 The wind had been so strong in recent weeks and died down enough for me to fly the drone when I felt well enough in my treatment gap to go for it. Thank you for the reminder and your good wishes. Wishing you well also!! ❤️
Hi Kevin! Thanks for that - I’m doing pretty well thanks! Hopefully I’ll get inspired to bring the camera out to play again in 2024 🤞 I’ve a bit of a break now until the 28th so I’ll be well able to enjoy the aul Crimbo dinner 🤗 Hope you have a great Christmas yourself and wishing you the best of everything for 2024 also!! 🎄❤️
Hello Miriam, simply wonderful, the trip was excellent and the images were wonderful along with the selected music, I congratulate you for your wonderful video, I prefer your trips to any Hollywood movie with an Oscar, thank you for sharing these beautiful moments and for being who you are , a big hug and until the next trip 😊✨💫👍☘️☘️☘️🚴
Thank you!! In hindsight - Summer might be too busy with other visitors...Spring or Winter might suit me better!! 😂 Certainly in teh next few years I'd like to plan to do it 🤞
Hi Miriam, really amazing to see you out making the trip and taking the time to film so well especially during this very difficult time for you.. You are so brave to share and talk about your health. Thank you for showing this fabulous location, the views of the cliff faces and the rocks are stunning but mean very little compared to you getting on the road to recovery... 😄Tom
Aww thanks Tom!! It gave me a great boost to get away while I felt well. I had intended to take the drone to this island for the last 2 years - suddenly that plan was prioritised after all this time!! 😊 Very glad you enjoyed the views!! Cheers for your support, much appreciated!!
Thank you Miriam for sharing your journey. What a powerful force water can be. Four members of my family have been touched by cancer so I wish you the best of luck for the future and hope have the strength to carry on travelling.
Thank you Jonathan and very sorry to hear what members of your family have been through. As you said - water is definitely a very powerful force and certainly humbles me a lot! Your good wishes are appreciated 🙏 I’m looking forward to recovering from surgery now and being able to get back out there again to some wild places 😊
I don't know which is the more impressive, the landscape of Inis Mór or your personality! It's just great that you are so positive and getting out there and camping. I really have a need now to visit the west coast of Ireland. Thanks for the inspiration. I haven't quite worked out how to have a painter's easel and camping gear on a Brompton, but it will be done. I wish you all the best with the chemo. May the whole episode pass as quickly as possible.
Ahhh thanks very much David 🤗 Oooh that sounds like a great trip to make with your Brompton and easel - I hope there is such a thing as a decent folding easel anyway 🤞 I ended up having to miss this weeks chemo treatment as I picked up a gastro bug which knocked everything back a week but hopefully I won’t experience anymore delays along the way. Such a pain and then of course it was nice to have an extra week away from the chemical warfare. Delighted to hear you enjoyed this little trip out West!! It’s a gem!! Take care of yourself 😎
I was there in august your game to stay in November, well done on the chemo iam six years in and have been on chemo tablet form I took a break in august and done exactly hat you done fair play to you 👍🙏
Hi Paul - sorry to hear you've been on the chemo journey too. November was great to visit as its so much quieter and with the right gear its an utter pleasure!! Cheers for your message 😊
Hello Miriam, Sorry I have been on the missing list, back now. A really enjoyable video, thank you. I hope the treatment is progressing well. Take lots of care. Paul,,
Thanks very much Paul! All going ok thanks..chemo is finished about 4.5 weeks and surgery is scheduled for next week. A long aul road but I’m doing ok to date 😉 I hope you’re keeping well!!
Still smiling I see. Thank you for showing me the oddest, weirdest, blockiest looking place I've ever seen. Looks like they grow slabs of limestone on that little island instead of wheat or barley... "Let the wind carry me in her arms to all the distant places I've imagined, across seas and skies and the ever expanding universe..." x
You’d love it!! Well I imagine everyone would have to love it 😊 I had a great time - such a treat to visit before the next chemical warfare incident! Bring on the ‘carrying of the wind’ - thank you! xx
This is absolutely the essence of you in 23minutes. I wish it was 20023 minutes though! It's such a great experience to go with you on these adventures and they just make you feel uplifted. I'm so glad you got one more in before year end. I cant wait for more, as always. I'll never be sated! ❤
all i can say is you have my height of admiration and my best wishes in your battle , but i am sure with your positive outlook you will surmount your illness , best wishes . denis
Thanks Terry 🙂 Such a lovely place to visit - plenty of coastal camp spots to keep you entertained on this island for sure...so nice! Cheers for your message 😎
Hello Miriam, That was really wonderful. I am really pleased that you are doing well with your treatment and as you have a very positive attitude you will be okay. A lovely little break and most enjoyable to watch with good food. Many thanks and very best wishes, Colin
Thanks very much Andrew - hanging in there with the treatment so far 😉 It really is a very special part of the world alright, I’m very lucky to have it so close to me!
Thanks very much David! That's lovely of you to say - just an ordinary woman that loves being in a tent every now and again 🤗 Thanks so much for your message ❤️
Wow Miriam, great video! So good to see you out enjoying an adventure despite your current treatment, i hope that all continues to go well and if you were an inspiration before, you are doubly so now. @@MiriamKennedy great news!!! I’m sure we’ll all be keen to see the next adventure! I’m good thanks and hoping to get over to Inis Mor sometime this year with my Brompton! :)
Miriam my old friend, so lovely to see your smiling face and dimples still in place 😂 What a wonderful video, so glad I found it. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been going through chemo, it's a tough road. Sending lots of love and healing your way. Take good care of yourself. Neasa. x
Ah Neasa!!! So lovely to hear from you 🤩 Cheers for your message and I hope you’re keeping well! I’m hanging in there thanks, I’ve finished chemo and surgery now and hopefully on the mend a bit! How the hell did you get to see this, I assume you bumped into someone from our colourful past that told you?? Best wishes to you and lots of fond memories 😘 xx
Love this video. Spent several Easters in the Aran Islands practicing my Irish as a teenager. Good to see they've not been improved out of all recognition. I remember wandering for hours through the stony landscape without ever meeting a soul. Happy memories. Soul refreshing in fact. Thank you
Thank you Dawn! Lovely memories to have from your teenage years, hopefully practicing your Irish wasn’t a chore either 😉 Like you said, the landscape has maintained a wildness that even the hoards of visitors in the Summer months hasn’t impacted. Such a great place to visit and spend some time. Thanks again!
Miriam. I'm so VERY sorry, not to mention shocked, to hear of your plight. I wish you a full recovery, selfishly, so that I can continue to admire your videos. Tóg go bog é. 😂 Pat

Dear Miriam, happiness on your face reminded me of when i get out to Hebrides on my break from chemo. So happy to see you out there. Its magical what nature does, isnt it? I have to put Aran Islands on my bucket list , landscape looks like from other planet. Have you ever thought about doing voice for audio books or do speak mediation, i can listen your voice just before sleep is so calming. I hope i include my bike next year to my trip. I really love Brompton ❤️ Thank you
Thanks so much Lucy! 🤗 Yep - there is something about having a tent packed - whether its on my back or on my bike that I seem to feel very content! It always brings me to a giddy and satisfied place! Ha!! I certainly have never thought about doing audio books but thanks for the compliment 😂 I've been enjoying my bike trips aswell as my walking trips - very different in terms of the places we can get to (however access to shops is a real bonus when on the bike) 😉 I hope you're doing ok and processing the next steps for you with some ease. Thinking of you and wishing you well!! x
Great to see you Miriam. I walked and Wild camped in neighbouring Inisheer last September, it was absolutely beautiful, amazing sunrise and sunset,at night the brightest stars I've witnessed since I was a child fado, fado.Keep safe, be strong.
Thanks very much Brian! I've yet to camp on Inisheer - I was there only once, I was in the Gaeltacht when in first year of secondary school aged 13 or 14. Kissing boys at the Castle and the Plassy boat and the amazing beaches are my memories!! I will definitely need to return - sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I reckon Inisheer was my first ever visit to one of our islands...that's where the bug started!! 😊
Hi Miriam. Good to see you out and about, rattling down country lanes with the kitchen sink strapped behind 🤭. the weather played ball and you seemed to have the place to yourself. The seas looked calm for this time of year. nice drone footage. I like your little egg flipper 😊. All the best and take care.
Ha, the egg flipper was a new addition - Derek from NZ left it with me after my drooling with gear envy when I saw it 😂 My mule was well able for the kitchen sink..it has been well trained now! So glad the weather played ball alright to allow for this trip when I felt up for it...I didn't even feel sick on the boat either!! Cheers Andrew 🤗
Aww thank you Andy for watching it! It really is an amazing place, I love it there and I was chuffed to be able to visit it again with a camera 😊 Many thanks for your good wishes also, I’m doing pretty well to date!
HI Miriam beautiful trip great scenery I am glad you are back there is a lot of History on that Island.I also ride a 16 in wheel bicycle but not a Brompton.Cheers I am always thinking about you.
That was a special one Miriam - one of my favourite spots in world (second only to Inis Meain!) Haunts of ancient peace. You're dead right, the Black Fort is incredible for a bit of solitude. Wonderful to see you doing so well!
I share the same Top of the Pops chart with you Joe! Late November definitely works for solitude on Inis Mór thankfully 😉 'Haunts of ancient peace' - an apt description!! Cheers for your message and I hope all is good with you!
What an amazing video Miriam? We don't have anything like that here in New Jersey, just highways and cars. But this video has really touched me. I'm going into my 4th chemo session and lately it has been draining my energy. Because of winter coming and the shorter days I've been doing more walking than cycling and like you the nausea doesn't always make it easy. But this video is wonderfully motivating, God bless you Miriam! I hope everything keeps going well for you and thank you again for this video!
So sorry to hear you're walking a similar path Doug...no pun intended with walking over cycling! For my first two treatments I noticed walking and cycling were helping the nausea (it seemed easier than sitting anyway) and then for the last 2 treatments, both walking and cycling seemed to increase the nauseous feeling 🤕 My energy has been wiped also at times - I feel flat or something rather than tired but I'm unable to do anything when its like that. I hope you get some sections where you bounce back too 🤞 I literally feel normal today but in 3 days time I'll be getting hit again and who knows how I'll be. Thanks so much for your message Doug and I hope you get some breaks along the way too to make it a little easier. Take good care and I'll be thinking of you too from here!! ❤️
@MiriamKennedy Thank you for writing back. The walking and cycling and generally being active do feel better than sitting, though not always pain free. My biggest problem which I hope you don't have is an extreme sensitivity to cold brought on by the medicine they put in me, not a good time of year for that. But I have only 2 more 3 week sessions until the follow-up visits. I hope your next treatment goes smoothly, take care! Doug.
@@doug2835I haven’t had that experience with the cold that you mentioned Doug, that sounds so tough 🤕 Wishing you the best for your upcoming sessions! 🤞
Hi Miriam, good to hear from you. What a beautiful and mysterious island Inis Mór is. What a lot of history there to be found. Great one again Miriam, thanks. Stay strong.
Thanks very much Paul and Sara 😊 That’s very lovely of you and your message certainly gave me a smile! Thanks for watching this and for saying hello - wishing you both well xx
Hey mirriam, hope you are doing well and feeling better, I was just kicking back and listening to clannad with a glass of wine and I thought of you, you are a daughter of the emerald isle and wish you the very best. 💪😁
Great music to be listening to 😉 Thanks for your lovely words also! 🙏 All is going ok with me - I finished chemo on Feb 15th and had a big surgery on March 20th so I’m almost 3 weeks post surgery now and recovering pretty well. I look forward to getting back out again when I feel well enough, nice to have something to look forward to! Wishing you well also and thanks for your good wishes! 🙏
Wishing you the very best today and I look forward to seeing your recent adventures!! xx
I lived on Inishmore as a young child, it is a special place. Thanks for sharing.
Oh lucky you! What a wonderful place to have lived 😊

Martin ❤
Thanks very much Martin! I certainly will be trying to do that - its a wonderful tonic for sure 😉
@@MiriamKennedy: where could I write you in private?

Thanks very much Kieran! Very happy to hear you enjoyed the video 🤗 Thanks so much for letting me know!! 🤩
This video is just a poem...wow! For a second I thought it was about Arran. Doesn't matter...Inis Mór is just beautiful. I have to read about it's history and ancient inhabitants. Thanks for taking us with you and may you have a 2024 you wish for
Thanks very much! Delighted to hear you enjoyed seeing Inis Mór, its a wonderful island to visit. Wishing you the very best for 2024 also 😊
Hi Miriam so sorry to hear that you are unwell you are an amazing woman.
@MiriamKennedy Thank you very much Miriam glad you could make the trip back. Take care and mind yourself
Super film! Get fully better soon lovely lady!
Thanks very much John, nice to hear you enjoyed it! 😎
Stumbled on your channel. Love your adventure spirit. Live and we are living with you ❤
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching this video and your lovely message 😊
Beautiful video yet again Miriam 👏 sending healing vibes your way & get well soon ❤
Thanks very much Kevin, your healing vibes are gratefully received 😎 Hope you're doing well yourself!
Miriam the magnificent. Says it all really - I’m utterly impressed as always. Stay strong keep well.
Awwwww!!! Thank you 🤩 All good today thanks - hope all is well with you too. Cheers for watching this one and your very lovely messsge! 😊
Thanks for that, really enjoyed it. You're looking well. I'm so fed up with this endless rain.
Cheers Dick! Its something else isn't it 😕 I hope you're feeling well these days and thanks for your message and support 😊
@@MiriamKennedy hmm bizarrely my comment seems to have been attached to the wrong video. It was supposed to be on your Ring of Kerry video.

Beautiful video - thank you for sharing. I wish you health and happiness in the months ahead.

Aww thank you Mithu 🤗 That's lovely of you to say - wonderful to hear that you enjoyed this video, that makes my day!! 😎
Great video, great place, yeah,a summer there would be cool.
Just fab drone shots Miriam , fighting fit 😉
Thanks Ian! Such a fun place to play with the drone - adrenalin and anxiety battling it out every time I take it out to play 😉
Thanks again, Miriam, and very best wishes from The Cotswolds, formerly from Northumberland. I salute your courage and outlook.
Thank you John! Greetings to the Cotswolds from Dublin 🤗 Cheers for your message, I really appreciate it!
I keep my fingers crossed for a quick return to form❤️
Thanks so much 🙏 I look forward to getting back out again for sure!! 😊
You're some woman for one woman.great to see you back doing what you love doing.❤

Great trip, definitely bucket list for this summer. Look after yourself and take care.
Thanks very much Donall - I hope you get there! 🤞
Miriam Love the video! You are an inspiration! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much Greg! Delighted you enjoyed it!! 🤩
Some lovely footage Miriam, really enjoyed that. Must get over there at some point.
Thanks very much Bob! I reckon you’d really enjoy it - a lovely island to visit 😊
Hello Miriam,
Sorry I have been on the missing list, back now.
I am pleased all is going well, all tickety boo with me@@MiriamKennedy
Still smiling I see. Thank you for showing me the oddest, weirdest, blockiest looking place I've ever seen. Looks like they grow slabs of limestone on that little island instead of wheat or barley... "Let the wind carry me in her arms to all the distant places I've imagined, across seas and skies and the ever expanding universe..." x
You’d love it!! Well I imagine everyone would have to love it 😊 I had a great time - such a treat to visit before the next chemical warfare incident! Bring on the ‘carrying of the wind’ - thank you! xx
Wonderful life affirming film. And a beautiful Brompton to lend a hand. Super

Dear Miriam , a lovely little tour , thank you, glad you’re feeling good and strong 🤙 Big Love to you ⭐️
Thanks very much David! It was fab to make the most of this time when I felt so well...very glad it didn't backfire on me too!! 😊
😂 Pat
Ah thanks very much Pat, that’s lovely 🙏

Epic scenery, Thanks for sharing how beautiful the world is
Thanks so much! Thank you also for watching and letting me know you enjoyed it, much appreciated 😊
Another beautiful video, Miriam - thank you for sharing. What an amazing place. Continued strength and best wishes for your treatment.
Aww thank you Barrie! Wonderful scenery for sure - I loved being there again. Great to hear you're a small wheel user too 😉
So inspiring, thx!!
Thanks very much Lena 😉
That was a special one Miriam - one of my favourite spots in world (second only to Inis Meain!) Haunts of ancient peace. You're dead right, the Black Fort is incredible for a bit of solitude. Wonderful to see you doing so well!
I share the same Top of the Pops chart with you Joe! Late November definitely works for solitude on Inis Mór thankfully 😉 'Haunts of ancient peace' - an apt description!! Cheers for your message and I hope all is good with you!
Great video and God bless
Thank you Joe!! I appreciate it 😊
What an amazing video Miriam?
Very nice Miriam 👍
Thanks very much John 😊
