Is there a difference between sobriety and recovery? Where do the 12 steps of AA fit in?
    Is sobriety and abstinence recovery?
Is there more to recovery than sobriety?
My Recovery program is the 12 Step Program of Alcoholics Anonymous.
There are many types of recovery for addiction.

I never worked the steps but after my treatment i stayed back in center for few years and helped others and it helped me. Now i am out of center with 3 years sobriety but finding my underlying problem occur in daily basis. Your video made me realise that i jump directly to the 12th step it worked but I will go back and do it from first step to get true recovery. Thank you.

Awesome video. That happened to me several times throughout my years. I would stop drinking feel good for a short period of time. I was so excited and busy. Once the excitement of sobriety took a bit of a pause. I was left with the person that I've been running from ,me

Try meditation. Helps restlessness. Helps focus and memory ie tools for learning inventing or finding solutions. However i feel sad for those who have not good education and intelligence thru no fault of their own. Theyre destined to boring low paid jobs financial stress and liable to turn to alcohol as they cant miraculously develop iq s that get them to college and good jobs. Then you got the disabled some of whom cannot work. Loneliness may be a huge problem for them and talking to imaginary beings doesnt solve it. Its not selfishness and inflated egos that drive these to drink.Theyve proiblems other than alcohol dependency addiction or allergy if u need to stay in 1930 s big book science

Alcohol was his problem just not the only one. He had to address it before he could become aware of and tackle the rest. Now that he has dealt with the rest he still cannot drink safely again. The brain of most alcoholic drinkers never recovers from addiction to the extent one can resume drinking. Moderation Management might work for those who have not crossed from abuse into full blown addiction.

He finallly realised he was emotionally immature. He grew up. Thats all. He did so himself. He looked himself in the mirror. He saw stuff he didnt like and so began to change ie to grow up, be an adult. You dont need AA or a belief in a God to do this. A competent and honest therapist would have done same if you could find one. One that is interested in getting you well and not making money by keeping you sick or delaying your recovery to make more money out of you. He may have attended a doctor and psychiatrist to decide if medication for eg depression was needed all along. But beware of them. They make mistakes too and are not above greed.

Я алкоголик и хотел бы проходить шаги на языке оригинала. Я русский бы выучил только за то... Кто-нибудь из билингвов-анононимных, не мог бы провести меня о шагам? Ищу англоязычного наставника, согласен и на native.
