21:12 Lilia is a divination witch so she gets flashes of the future that soon become relevant. E.g. in episode 2 she yells “get off me” which we hear Sharon say at this episode start when she gets trapped.
So in future eps keep an eye out for when someone says “i love you guys” and “try to save Agatha”. Lilia will keep foreshadowing future events :) it’s a great dramatic device!
Lilia is the oldest: Agatha wasn’t kidding when she called her over 400 years old. Agatha is the next oldest, then Jen, then Alice.

I’m loving this even more than Wandavision. No matter how much I love the Scarlett Witch, this show at this stage speaks more to me than Wandavision did at the same stage. Loving you two especially as reactors for this, vibing to all the theatre tie ins. I loved how the ‘beach house’ fits with Jen’s shop design style wise. It’s Jen’s trial and Jen’s shop contents are stocked. I’m not 100% sure that this style reflects Jen’s inner self. As one of the legions of traditional healers and midwives (I’m pretty sure that’s what Agatha means by important work, and it probably encompassed all kinds of reproductive health) that got butted out by university trained doctors who for centuries didn’t have as much superior knowledge as they thought they did, and those healers sometimes also getting catastrophically persecuted when inexplicable disasters befell a village, I’m pretty sure Jen is habituated to fitting in with a very low profile in whatever society she’s in.

You guys are maybe the only reaction streamers to notice so quickly they didn’t add Sharon’s hair to the potion or involve her in the spell!

Sharon is not part of the coven. The problem was Sharon drank 2 glasses but only got 1 antidote, when she should have received 2

Interesting fact: this is the first Marvel Disney TV show that uses the traditional tv show management model with a showrunner in Jac Schaeffer. While she was kind of showrunner (thanks to the exe producer and Olsen wanting her to lead the show) for Wandavision she was only credited as head writer and other Marvel Disney series were run like how they did their movies: writers would do a script and be done, with the Director and Producer running things.
The WGA strike forced Marvel to have showrunners for their shows now, with writers engaged throughout the whole process (and the ability to punch up the script while shooting when necessary). It’s clear that this has given this show a much clearer vision and structure, and probably better budget management as well. All TV shows typically have a showrunner for good reason.

So excited to see your reaction for the fourth episode, things really elevate in that one I think

Loved your reaction! I too get that instant water fear seeing the kitchen fill up, but all the practical effects & set have impressed me so much. Using minimal cgi and expanding the practical side of making this show is something I hope we can see more of going forward in the MCU (at least on the tv side). Can't wait for you both to catch up to episode 4, it's so good!

The lyrics of the original version of the ballad includes these lines:
“If one be gone, we carry on
    Spirit as our guide”
So, we may see the spirit of Sharon.

I've been thinking the exact same thing about how it's one of the first Marvel shows that feels like a TV series and not a film that's been broken up into parts. Although I was thinking about it after episode 4, I won't spoil anything, and I feel like while it is episodic there's still a three act structure in play. At least so far. The first 3 episodes are the first act. Episode 1 sets up the world Agatha has been living in and in which the series is taking place. Episode 2 brings the coven together and sets up what they need to do and how they need to do it. Get back their powers by walking the road. Three introduces the trials each member will need to overcome. Now everything has been set up. Episode 4 ups the stakes. Since it is a 9 episode series it does make a certain amount of sense to do it this way and it could be why they decided to drop two episodes both at the start and end of the series. I guess we'll find out soon enough. It's only another three and a half weeks till episodes 8 and 9. I already miss it. This is my favourite thing I've seen in a good while.

Sharon’s “death” is a matter of math(that I missed until episode 4) but it’s also necessary to bring the REAL Green witch into the equation ✨

I find it fascinating that people are shocked at how good this show is. (not you guys of course, you have the smart!)
If you put a group of actors, any one of which could easily hold the load of leading their own movie, together in a well-designed and filmed show, with a script written by people who not only understand their medium, but LOVE it... well... duh!
Also, if Kathryn Hahn doesn't AT MINIMUM get an Emmy nomination next year, then I'm gonna go 100% Will Smith on someone's ass!

I went into a rant on this exact thing in another video that was talking about fandom. Two main phrases I've seen a lot of surrounding the show, "Who asked for this?" before it started and either "We had no idea it could be this good" or my least favourite "This has no right to be this good". There's a quote from Nicholas Meyer who directed Star Trek Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country where he says "The fans don't know what they want...until they get it. Then they'll recognize it."
The video was talking about how fans don't necessarily make the best writers because they want more of what they already like and it can lead to a lack of creativity beyond what already exists. The same thing happened with Andor. Before it came out the talk was all about how he wasn't the most interesting character and why would anyone want a show about him. Then when the show came out everyone was falling over themselves to tell everyone else how good it was because it never occurred that maybe it wasn't directly about him but the major events that happened around him. It's the same here. Especially since in the comics Agatha doesn't have much written about her so they more or less had a clean slate to make up any kind of story they wanted. It's kind of ironic that with Wandavision, knowledge of the comics led so many people to expect so much more from the show because they figured it was leading to something massive only for it to end up being a smaller series that was an examination of grief and the things that people thought were leading to the X-Men or something like that were just references they read too much into. You'd think they'd learn that comics knowledge doesn't dictate direction but in this case since there's no major story arc with Agatha it has caused people to expect less from this series because if it isn't a story that already exists how could it possibly be good?
It could also be that there's a lot of Marvel backlash at the moment which I don't get. If it were any other studio that had ups and downs you wouldn't see anyone say "Well the last few Paramount movies were terrible so I'm never going to see another one". Why doesn't Marvel get the benefit of the doubt that they're aware of what happened and are working to course correct? This series is a perfect example. It's the first show under the Marvel Television banner where they actually got a showrunner who wrote all the episodes out ahead of time and structured it like any other series. They built sets and didn't just fix it in post. Everything points to this being a different kind of Marvel show but for some people it's like they just assume it's bad without knowing anything about it. OK, now I'm just ranting here too. End of comment.
