I have 20+ hours on the game already. I get off playing for the day to sleep and to my surprise I see this in my feed! I can't escape balatro and I'm not complaining :)
I remember watching this video when the game had just come out and I didn't know anything about it, but I already sensed that it got some potential; it turned out it became the indie GOTY of 2024. Thanks for letting me discover me this absolute masterpiece ❤
Matt, always remember to put your mult multiplying cards to the right! Jokers trigger from left to right so adding all the flat mult before multiplying it will result in higher numbers! Example: 10 base from hand * 2 mult from a joker + 4 mult from a joker = (10 * 2) + 4 = 20 + 4 = 24 10 base from hand + 4 mult from a joker * 2 mult from a joker = (10 + 4) * 2 = 14 * 2 = 28 So just as a heuristic put all mult multipliers to the right for maximum points!
You always seem to find the most interesting games that I personally would have never come across myself, Pizza Tower and the Case of the Golden Idol are two I've got that are not typically what I'd play but I really enjoyed when I played them! I loved Inscryption (which is more like MtG at least late game if anything) but I also *love* poker, so this will definitely be a fun game to play. I'm so glad I found this. Also a very relaxing video of course.
You can't tell from this video but it's far from broken lol. It maxes out at +15 Mult which is quite low and only useful in the early game. You need multipliers of 100+ to get through the later antes

Imagine playing a co-op version of this game in a casino. That would be the most intense gambling experience of all time
Remember, you can use (especially low count eg pair, high) hands to discard additional cards if need be
