What we did to fit 35's onto a Toyota Tundra

  • We did some neat little tricks to make sure we were not rubbing on these Toyo Open Country 35" Tires on the 17" Icon Wheels. When the Toyota Tundra came to me it already had the body mount chop so it was good we didn't have to do that.
    We did find out that you could move the inner fender forward about an inch and then re-pop some holes for the screws and bolts. Then we learned a trick from TH-cam that showed us to heat up the inner fender till it smelled funny then you could roll it with a ball when it was cooling and you could mold its shape... and it totally worked.
    Thanks to Boss4x4s for the parts to make this tundra lift kit happen.

      The computer can't be reprogrammed. We did purchase the hyper tech OBD2 module that adjusts the ratio so Speedo is accurate, but never installed for a reason. With the larger tires and regear (4.88) the speedo is only off by a few mph, reading slower than my actual speed.

    • @SnailTrail4x4
      @SnailTrail4x4  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not at all. This fitment was made for the tires to be able to go off-roading with out hitting any of the body. Moving the fender liner forward made all the difference. Since it's independent front suspension the wheel doesn't travel forward or backwards during compression thus it will not hit the adjustment. In addition the track has been off road many times since we have addes the 35" tires and adjusted the inner fenders and everything is still in Place.
