The ride seems a little bit stiffer but I did a leveling kit, not an actual lift like you so that'll help you. My MPG's suffered, I actually have a couple videos on it so check those out! Just go on my page and search MPG to get more accurate numbers! Hope that helps man!
thanks for the vid. starting this proces on my 2018 4wd 1794 crewmax. added bilsteins on top setting and 1" in rear to keep a little rake. went with 20x9 +18mm wheels and had some minor rubbing on stock 275/55r20's. front lower mud flaps and something at full lock to the right. not sure what yet. looking to go to 285/60/20's (33.5") or 295/60/20's (34") but wondering about skid plate clearances at full lock. I haven't removed rear mud flaps yet, but think that will help with clearance. is there still a cover on the body mount if the mud flap is gone?
They would fit on the wheel for sure. You wouldn’t have the “poke” outside the fender because the wheels I have, have a +25mm offset as opposed to the stock +60mm offset so mine poke out about an inch and a 1/3” over stock. But I gave heard with the TRD pro stock lift that you have it can fit these tires with factory wheel without rubbing. But I can’t say from personal experience. Check out custom offsets website and you can put in your truck and the wheels and tires you want and it’ll show you guys who have done it and how it works! Super helpful!
Hey Dale, I will say I think it's gone down a little bit. I'm on my first full tank with the tires and haven't done any highway miles but I think it may be about 2mpg less. so when you will go off road and when mud will stuck with your tire this way something gets break also you are not able to put chain in snow incase , big tires because its looks good and help you little bit in off road , my point its not that super great idea , long run you are wasting too much money unless your life is 100% off road . one thing is great you have a nice truck
Well seeing i've never had a need for snow chains I think I'll be okay. But I know if I needed them they would fit as long as they weren't too bulky! Also I don't think it's a waste of money since I would have to buy new tires anyways. These aren't more than your average truck tire. But thank you for your concern!
Truck Looks Sick!! Is your Tundra Silver or Lunar Rock or Cement? It looks darker from far and lighter when Close. I am New to the Tundra game just started shopping for one. Thanks!
Is the higher the + offset the more tires will stick out? I have the same lift if I do 20x9 with +25 offset and 33by12.5 will my tires stick out a bit more? If not what do u recommend in my situation?
Hey Jeremey! It's definitely confusing to wrap your head around at first. It's actually the lower the number the further the wheel sticks out. So the factory Tundra wheel is a +60 offset which means that the center of the wheel where it is mounted to the truck is 60mm closer to the outside of the wheel which allows it to move further in over the rotor and hub and all that so it doesn't stick out as far. If you move to a lower number (like I did with a +25 offset) that is moving the mounting location on the wheel closer to the center line which in turn pushes the wheel further out giving you that nice stance with a little "poke". I would recommend getting on the website below and looking up your truck and specific tires and lift and you can see different options on your truck. It's amazing! Let me know if you have any questions! www.customwheeloffset.com/search-wheel-offset-gallery
@@kccreations5945 so if I went with a 0 as offset or close to that with a 33by 12.5 i’d get a lil more poke and with a 20 inch wheel. Do u think i’d be ok fit wise in it opinion? On a 20by9 wheel?

great look, nice job tucking that plastic liner. BTW I like the front end of this gen better than the current 2022. The front end design is too long. ON the other hand is great for customs upgrades and mods easy to work around DIYs and some services at home.
Do not get KO2's for your Tundra. I bought some 275/70R17 for my 4Runner and I couldn't keep them balanced for anything. Constant vibration issues when you go to a KO2 10ply tire. I complained to BFG and they gave me 50% off a new set, that I bought the stock size. Thankfully, my other ones had already gone 45k miles and were in need of replacing anyway, so I went ahead and bought them. If you get standard 6 ply tires, (C Rated) vs 10 ply (E Rated), the BFG are great. But so many people have vibration issues once you're into their 10 ply tires. I'm actually planning on buying these WildPeak's for my 07 Tundra Limited. My son has them on his 02 Grand Cherokee and they do really well in the snow here in Alaska.

Nice truck! I have the same one in super white. I’m contemplating changing my stock tires to either the wild peaks 3 or the Ko2’s . My question is, will a 305 / 65 /18 tire fit my tundra on stock rims without a lift? Is a lift better than a level? I’m not going more than 3” up front & 1” at the rear. I like the proportions of the wheel size you have chosen.
Nice truck man! I have really enjoyed the wildpeaks and they aren’t near as expensive! I don’t believe that size would fit but I would check on “customoffsets.com” it’s where I checked my wheel, lift and tire size. It’s super helpful! I have 285/65/18 KO2 (stock is 275/65/18) on a stock 2019 tundra and they rubbed when I had the wheel cranked all the way to one side when they were brand new. After about 5-10k miles they stopped rubbing. No way you're getting 305/65/18 to fit without a lift and some cutting. Also I live in Oregon and the KO2 are TERRIBLE in the rain. They have far less traction then the dealer tires on wet pavement and they do not do well in freeway ruts of water. I just bought them because of the snow rating but i don't think i would ever buy them again.

What is the width of your tire and what is the offset of your wheel??
The safe zone to throw on 35s seem to be an offset of 0 - +12 and id recommend like a 17 inch rim. @@kccreations5945
Good choice and they look good. Already told my wife I want Tundra presents for Christmas. 👍🏼

Dude! This is one of the best videos I've seen on this issue. Thanks!
Thanks man I really appreciate that! I have been running it without the mud flaps since the video and have had no rubbing which is great! I’ll be installing some clear vinyl where the mud flaps were to protect the paint so check that out if you’re interested here in a few days! Thanks for watching!

@@wasachevyguy yes I have a 3”/1” leveling kit. I have an install video of it that shows the difference if you’d like to see it!
@@kccreations5945 ....yes! Its the 1" Im worried about how or if it will rub ......right now getting ready to go get the wheels and tires on and noticed that the turning arms are hitting the stock tundra wheels on the edge of the rim when im cranking the steering wheel all the way.....probably not having the right offset yet. Crazy!!!!!
@@mylifein10 The offset will help that for sure. The stock wheels are a +60 offset so you will gain almost 3 inches more clearance from the Tie rods when turning your wheels after this. It will just be the fender you'll have to watch.
To be clear what is the size of tire you went with?
Awesome video bro!!! After watching your videos I got me 1.75’ front leveling kit for my tundra and 33s. I can’t wait to see them on. Keep up the good work.

I just installed a similar setup. +25 on a 34" total wheel diameter (275/65/20), It only rubs in reverse. When I''m in Neutral and turning the steering wheel, there's no rub, only happens in reverse. Why is that? I'm going to do what you did and see if that changes things.
I have those same tires in a 33?🤷🏼♂️ I think 😂😂😂 absolutely love them!!!!
I love them too!
Another great video Austin. I just watched it and preformed the same modification on my tundra. Your videos really are a big help 🙏🏻
So want to do 295/70/18. Worried I’ll have to BMC. Have 3” front 6112 lift.
What PSI do you have on your tires now? What did you end up doing for spare tire? I just got new wheels and tires and I want to add the same size tire for spare but not sure it will fit…
Hey! I run 45 psi all the way around. Discount tire out them at 42 but I thought it looked a little too squished so I bumped it up a hair lol as far as the spare I just have the stock on on there. I don’t think my tire would fit in the stock spare tire well. But it’s only 2 inches bigger so maybe it would. I just don’t have a spare tire of the size
Love it bud. I've been debating if I should put 33s because I didn't want to deal with the bmc. Thanks
Looks nice. Just bought Method 701 and 34" BFG KO2 for my OME 2.5" lift
Need to see this
That looks good dude. Maybe one day I can do that on my 21 trail edition. Hate to touch a new truck. New needs to wear off lol
Hahaha that makes a lot of sense! I figured I want it to be exactly like I want it for as long as I have it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
perfect proportions! need to get on my next set of tires
Appreciate it man! I really love the set up!
Surprised they stick out with the +25mm offset. They look great without a lift. Maybe a set of mild flares if you want but not necessary.
Yeah I wanted just a tiny bit of poke! This is a 3/1” lift so there is a little bit on there!
Where did you buy the wheels thanks
Awesome vid and truck bro. I have the same set but in a 295/60 r20s on KMC wheels with no offset on 18 Tundra DC Sport. They do rub the suspension beam at full lock unfortunately but not too bad and I still wouldn't change a thing. It just looks so bad ass!
That sounds awesome man! Thanks for the comment and watching!
Yes! Real easy to use......some good videos on TH-cam for the welder
Do those Vector wheels balance true to ride with no vibration in the steering wheel? I brought a set of aftermarket wheels and could not get them to balance for nothing. I went back to stock.
Austin, Great Video. Getting ready to do my tire/wheel package.
Hey nice truck love the color on truck and rim looking into bronze wheels for my white truck I have a 19 I’m doing a 2.5 king coil over shock level on and actually need to drive it off road how has it affected your ride acceleration and mpg
Yeah I need to find a place to do some actual off roading as well! I've done a bit of dirt roads and paths this summer but nothing technical. The ride seems a little bit stiffer but I did a leveling kit, not an actual lift like you so that'll help you. My MPG's suffered, I actually have a couple videos on it so check those out! Just go on my page and search MPG to get more accurate numbers! Hope that helps man!
Thanks for the response!
Is the single bolt still holding it in place? Or did you have to make any other mods?
Hey man good to follow up! Yes everything that I did in the video is the last time I touched it! Still going strong!
thanks for the vid. starting this proces on my 2018 4wd 1794 crewmax. added bilsteins on top setting and 1" in rear to keep a little rake. went with 20x9 +18mm wheels and had some minor rubbing on stock 275/55r20's. front lower mud flaps and something at full lock to the right. not sure what yet. looking to go to 285/60/20's (33.5") or 295/60/20's (34") but wondering about skid plate clearances at full lock. I haven't removed rear mud flaps yet, but think that will help with clearance. is there still a cover on the body mount if the mud flap is gone?
Looks Fantastic, and I agree, not liking crazy ridiculous, but just like you've done. Nice! ...and thanks for the video tips.
No problem man! I’m glad you like the setup!
Does the TRD’s come a few inches taller than say a SR5? I would love to go with this size tire on my 2017 4x4 Tundra
I don’t think they are taller. I did a 3”/1” leveling kit on mine. You can check it out on the channel!
Looks good I have a 2017 tundra TRD pro would these fit on stock TRD rims want the same look stance thanks
About to throw some 295 70 18s on my 2015 limited TRD. I hope it comes back looking as nasty as yours. Thanks for the videos
It will I have no doubt! Hope you enjoy and thanks for the compliment!
How has the larger tires affected mpg or power/performance? I'm thinking about a 285/75r18 which is 35s but narrower
Hey Dale, I will say I think it's gone down a little bit. I'm on my first full tank with the tires and haven't done any highway miles but I think it may be about 2mpg less. I take that back I did drive on the highway for like 10 miles and got 16.5ish so that wasn't too bad. But overall I do think it affects it a bit.
@@kccreations5945 Not bad...what was it before ...17mpg. You may have just swayed me to go on up to the 35inch tire(285/75R18) as it is taller and Lighter & narrower than the one you just put on.
@@dalephillips8250 I have gotten about 17.5 on the highway. Mine are considered 35’s on some websites but are only about 34.5. And are 10 mm wider than what you are looking at! I definitely like how the big tires look!
@@kccreations5945 Thanks for the reply....I like how that looks also as I looked at that size in Nitto Ridge Grapplers which measured 34.2in. After doing some research I wanted the most height/Clearance and not as wide of a tire to keep the contact pressure on the road a little higher since they are a narrower tire. I was almost just going to settle for 33's(275/70R18) 33.4 inches but now that you say its not affecting you MPG as much as I thought it would I am switching back to my initial choice of 285/75R18 I'll just have to get the speedometer and all calibrated.....Hey did you do that because I know it throws you speedo off and you are traveling faster and further than your speedo and odometer are telling you?
@@dalephillips8250 I will say I haven't had a ton of driving on these tires yet so take my MPG guesstimate with a grain of salt but that seems to be what it's been. In terms of speedometer I haven't not made any adjustments. For my tire size I saw a chart that showed my speedometer would read about 2 miles per hour slower than what I was going. And I've noticed on my Waze maps app that it's about 2-3 mph difference going about 70. Hope that helps! I haven't looked at the odometer changes at all.
What about TPMS sensors? Did they install new ones or or pull the OEM sensors from your stock wheels?
I think at discount tire they are required to put in new ones to prevent any possibility of an issue. But They've been great so far! I run them at about 50 PSI!
I think this looks awesome!
If you wouldn't mind adding the specs to the description it would be super helpful! I want to run something very similar to this setup on my Tundra.
Wheel size -
Wheel Diameter - 18" ??
Wheel Width - 8" ?
Wheel Offset - +25mm ??
Tire size -
296/70/18??
I'm guessing here.
Hey sorry about that! Yepp 297/70 r18. I think the wheels are 9” wide. They are Granite Alloy wheels in the bronze color! They are a +25 offset that’s correct! Hope you enjoy!
What's the difference in ride height compared to the stock tires?
How much does it throw off your Speedometer by putting those big tires on ? Thanks
Hey man! I'm off by about 2-3 mph cruising at 70. So my speedo says I'm going 70 but I'm really going like 72-73 based on my maps app. But at lower MPH it's still right on or only like 1mph over. Hope that helps!
Nice work! Really enjoyed the vid. Is your truck lifted or stock?
I have a 3"/1" lift on it. I have an install video on it about a year ago check that out!
How have the WP tires working out for you? Still holding up? Do they ride smooth?
Ihave a question does you tundra bed same like tundra max? I looked on you running boards and I wonder if that fits on my tundra max? Thanks
These running boards are for the Crew Max Tundra. If you want to check them out I made a video on the install th-cam.com/video/Mxd6rxUubKA/w-d-xo.html
Hope that helps! The link for the running boards are in the description of every truck video!
so when you will go off road and when mud will stuck with your tire this way something gets break also you are not able to put chain in snow incase , big tires because its looks good and help you little bit in off road , my point its not that super great idea , long run you are wasting too much money unless your life is 100% off road .
one thing is great you have a nice truck
Well seeing i've never had a need for snow chains I think I'll be okay. But I know if I needed them they would fit as long as they weren't too bulky! Also I don't think it's a waste of money since I would have to buy new tires anyways. These aren't more than your average truck tire. But thank you for your concern!
Falken AT3 are three peak snow rated. I've never had to chain with snow tires and 4wd.
Truck Looks Sick!! Is your Tundra Silver or Lunar Rock or Cement? It looks darker from far and lighter when Close. I am New to the Tundra game just started shopping for one. Thanks!
Hey man mine is the Cement color! I love it, but I know the Lunar rock looks pretty awesome too! Keep me posted on what you end up getting!
@@jeremeywright Yeah for every 25mm it's an inch of movement. So you'd be out an inch further than I am. I can't say for certain on the fit but click that link in my previous comment and you can put in exactly what you want and it will show you guys who have done it and if it fit. Safest option!
Great video, Tundra looks awesome!
Thanks so much! It’s coming right along with every upgrade!
Those wheels are clean! What are they called? I love the color of them.
great look, nice job tucking that plastic liner. BTW I like the front end of this gen better than the current 2022. The front end design is too long. I mean is that is there is too much wasted space under the hood area and fenders. I guess the designers went overboard. ON the other hand is great for customs upgrades and mods easy to work around DIYs and some services at home.
LOOKS EXACTLY HOW I WANT MY TUNDRA TO LOOK
Thanks man! It’s been fun building it out!
Dang I was going to get some ko2s on my tundra but I kind of like these wildpeaks!
Looking awesome. Just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

From what I understand a lift gives you more suspension capability asides from just lifting the truck up like a “lift” does but again that comes with a cost. I have been really happy with my 3”-1”leveling kit from Pro-comp! Hope that info helps let me know if you need anything!
