Magnificent, that’s all I can say! Every video, I learn something new from a technical standpoint and enjoy your designs very, very much. What a gift you are giving all of us crafters.
This is beautiful and again I've learned a new skill - squaring off a star shape. And using the Even Moss stitch in the border is a lovely touch. I would definitely love a big blanket made with this - one for the to do list. Thank you!
This is the first video of yours that I've watched. I happened to come upon it scrolling through videos while having my morning coffee. I've watched a LOT of crochet tutorials, and yours is one of the best! I love that you used light, easy to see colors.I love how you used almost all the same colors as the demo square and layed each finished round over the finished square so we could see exactly how our work in progress should look. Your explanations of stitches are wonderful. You go slow enough and zoom in and out for us to REALLY SEE what you're doing. GREAT GREAT GREAT TEACHING!!!
Thank you so much, this makes my day! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I really just love to share these and try to make them what I would have wanted to see when I was learning. So thanks for you kind words and your support, Enjoy!
Thanks, this will sound kind of weird, but colours make a sound to me, so it's like listening to a piece of music, they are either harmonious, major or minor, or discordant lol. I did study some colour theory over the years, but mostly I just listen to them, weird right?! 🙃
Beautiful. I LOVE THIS PATTERN!!!!! After watching it several times, I am currently working on a baby blanket....same colors just a hint brighter. Thank you for this very detailed tutorial!
You answered my prayer! I was trying to figure out what pattern I wanted to use for a blanket for my granddaughter. The colors I have a very summer-like….a bright pink, yellow, and orange. I think they will look so cheerful in this square!
Those colours will be gorgeous in this pattern, so glad it came at the right time, I had another tutorial scheduled, but this one pushed its way in and said put me up first! lol, so maybe it wanted to find you. So glad you like it.
I have been crocheting for 40 years. Wanted to say Ive been binge watching you this last week. Everything I crochet I give to the op shop as I never felt they were good enough to leave in my home. I started losing my mojo for crochet as I was only crocheting for realising of my stress and tension in my life. I tried crochet alongs but the size and hundreds and hundreds of hours I would spend on each project seemed to make me more stressed. Even though the projects got finished, and many couldn't believe I gave them away, to me they were full of stress and lacked joy. Ive seen similar projects like your style but again they have been massive projects. Then your channel popped up on my utube and I couldn't believe how you made everything so easy to follow. I want to try everything on your channel. Not only that, you've shown me so many new techniques to better my stitches and finishing off. Thank you for giving me back my mojo and excitement for this craft. I will ask if you could do a utube on colours. I have no idea what colours to use in a square. The colours I have chosen in the past have looked hideous together. I have looked at a few videos on picking colours but have been left totally confused. Again, thank you for your channel and the soothing voice, the clear instructions as well as the other platforms for both the written and diagrams that go along with your tutorials. Well done, your channel is so appreciated.
Thank you so much, it makes my day that these videos have sparked your creative side!! As far as the colours go, I have tried learning colour theory, but in the end I just go with my gut. There is alot of trial and error and I won't hesitate to rip a project out, if I don't like the colours lol. I just feel my way with the colours, I have told people the colour combos are like musical chords to me. They either sound good together or sound like fingernails on a chalkboard, Weird, but that is the best way I can explain it. Thanks so much for watching
I've been crocheting for 35 years and then one day I just stop. It happen when I made 12 blankets in 2021. And i hated the way I felt because crochet was my life. I have about 6 projects just sitting here. All I can do is just look at them. I always stay in the box never doing anything different, the same stitches over and over again. But today there are different ways to crochet. Look at all the different stitches' now. So every time I find something I want to try I get upset because I can not do it. I'm not sure what to do. I'm not giving up again. I'm just going to take my time because I know I can do it. I'm just going to add this. Not one person looked at what I had to say. Not one like! but that's ok, I know where my comments are wanted, not here I guess.
Dear Rose, I couldn’t agree more with you❣️ I love this crochet tutorial site & especially love the color choices❣️ I also seem to have a problem when choosing colors that look good together, so I end up with boring black or white with one or two colors that I either end up hating when finished or just find boring. I also love all the different shapes she has here & so many things that can be made with them. Plus her tips & tricks are awesome & I can easily understand & follow everything❣️ What a blessing ❤
Well....I must say the squaring it out was quite a challenge, but I stayed with you and it became easier on the way. I think I want to frame this one after I am fully finished! I used the same colours here, but the white and the green has a silver lining. The light Green was combined with a sparkle green. So it looks really nice! Thanks for your excellent explanation!🥰😇😍🤩
I am so happy to have found your podcast!! What an inspiration you are! You’re a fantastic teacher with projects that are absolutely gorgeous and easy to accomplish with your tutorials! I have crocheted for years and have not come across such beautiful projects! Thank you so much..I can’t wait to make these! I especially love the join as you go technique! Thank you for sharing with us your talents..you’re amazing!❤😊
Your tutorials are just lovely to listen to let along learn from….you explain so well with such a beautiful voice. Thank you so much for all your patience and care in compiling your tutorials. Bye 💁🏼♀️
Oĥhh, I love this pattern. A definite add to my favorites list that I HAVE to do. I also wanted to comment on your color choices. Absolutely gorgeous!! 😊
Oh wow 😍🤩 How do you keep making each pattern even more beautiful?!? Although I’d love to see this as a Hexagon but full size with the beautiful edging❣️ You are truly gifted & I thank you so very much for taking the time to teach us & offer free tutorials ❤ Blessings to you 🙋🏻♀️🦋🙏🏼🫶🏻
Thank you. I love your videos. Everything is so well explained and your directions are easy to follow. I did the additional half double slip stitch border from the back side and it looks great.
Wow! Am I glad this dropped into my feed. Absolutely amazing teaching style. No distracting finger jewelry/nail polish. Every single frame/ camera angle is perfectly precise, and clear with great pacing. New subbie here. Thanks Jane.
oh my God... I have no words to appreciate your way of teaching... wow, just wow... I have been crocheting for more than 24 years... your way of explaining the petal to hexagon round alone, blew my mind...God bless you dear... excellent work...love watching your videos....anyone can crochet with your videos on hand...beautiful... one doubt, about 45:17 in the video after doing a square corner, when you come to the other side before the ch2 , you say half double crochet but do a double crochet... please clarify that stitch.. thank you
So glad you like these. Means so much to me that you like this. And good catch on the stitch. It is supposed to be a double crochet, which it is written in the pattern and on the blog post properly, just me getting ahead of myself in the video. I guess I was thinking of the long hdc coming up! I do struggle with that talk / crochet / filming / multitasking thing, LOL not very relaxing 🙃 Sorry about that! I wish I could fix these videos once they are up, but unfortunately it is now wrong for all time 😆. Enjoy the squares and thanks so much for watching.
This is so pretty. I wonder, when you start to flatten out the spaces between the star points, can you slip stitch twice in the chain space on each point instead of stacking another chain two on top of each one?
You can give it a go. I found that it bulked up that area and it didn't sit right for me, so just working another ch-2 sp let it sit flatter and then I worked over both rows of ch-sps on Rnd 8 with a hdc. I tried a few combos and this one sat the best for me. But definitely try alternatives as we all crochet differently and trial and error is how I figure out what works for me. Enjoy Thank you for the question and thanks for watching. 😊
Just beautiful. Your tutorial made it seem easier than it probably is, but am going to try it anyway. How would one join the squares? Please make a video for joining. Thank you so much.
So glad you are going to give it a try. You could use a simple whip stitch to join these or the join-as-you-go method. I have a playlist for joining squares to give you some ideas.
Oh such a beautiful square…only wish you showed us a sample of how to find the stitches in the final colored borders and also how to join the stitches for us slightly more than beginner crocheters (in other words, me….lol) Thank you for the great video though….
So glad you like it. I think I’m going to do a slower and more detailed tutorial on the border stitch, because I love using it on my blankets as well. Thanks for watching 🤗
Good suggestion on the label, I do have the yarn information on my blog. You could join the square many different ways, I have a playlist on different techniques. You are so welcome, yes I have two versions there with a different center colour. The other center is made with a pale green. I believe the yarn I used was Bernat Premium Sage
I'm going to try this, but it will probably turn out looking like a meteor. 😅 Wish me luck 🙏 I'll update. I am a lefty living in a mostly righty crochet world. This video is beautiful, BTW. Im looking forward to more.
I just released today another version of the Join As You Go for squares with solid stitch borders, such as this one. That is what I would use to join these squares. Enjoy
Thanks, I'm not sure how the subtitles work as TH-cam is in charge of that. I do know there is a transcript as well somewhere on the side bar you can find that. This might be something TH-cam could help you with. I also have the written pattern over on my site, free on the blog, or a PDF version in my shop. Thanks so much for watching.
As it gets larger it does start to skew, this is because crochet stitches don't sit right on top of each other. I block my squares to make them behave. I have a tutorial on my blocking, it is in the 2nd part of my Daisy Square Blanket series.
I do not have options on the blog pages for printing, so unfortunately those must be the ads, I use an ad service on my blog, so I can offer the content for free, but I do not have a print option on the page. Very pretty❣️

Very nice🎉😮
thank you
This is lovely
I would like to see the thread label , are you going to show how to join the squares, is it before or after the edges.
Good suggestion on the label, I do have the yarn information on my blog. You could join the square many different ways, I have a playlist on different techniques. I have not turned this one into a blanket yet, but I would probably do the Join-As-You-Go method and I would do it after the borders are on the squares.

Jane this is the most beautiful granny I have seen. You’re so easy to listen to and explain so clearly. I’m definitely placing this on my to do list. You are so welcome, yes I have two versions there with a different center colour. The other center is made with a pale green. I believe the yarn I used was Bernat Premium Sage

Beautiful! I would love to try this but when I save your video I lose the subtitles! They are a must for me as a profoundly deaf person. Can you help?
Thanks, I'm not sure how the subtitles work as TH-cam is in charge of that. I do know there is a transcript as well somewhere on the side bar you can find that. This might be something TH-cam could help you with. I also have the written pattern over on my site, free on the blog, or a PDF version in my shop.
Thanks so much for watching.
@jspcreate Thank you for replying. I will try to find the written pattern.
Question how can we make the square really square when finished
As it gets larger it does start to skew, this is because crochet stitches don't sit right on top of each other. I block my squares to make them behave. I have a tutorial on my blocking, it is in the 2nd part of my Daisy Square Blanket series.
At your website, there are several options to print this lovely pattern and I'm not sure they're safe. Do you know anything about them?
I do not have options on the blog pages for printing, so unfortunately those must be the ads, I use an ad service on my blog, so I can offer the content for free, but I do not have a print option on the page. I do have the PDF versions over in my shop, but those take you through a purchase process with Gumroad where I host my shop.
Gorgeous!!!
