Your coaching always seems to hit the spot with me. For me it was criticism about the black lines I drew around everything. Now I feel my paintings lack depth and dark. That stuff hits home! Thank you!
Hi Dolly- follow your own sense of what is visually compelling- continue to try new things and refine in ways you are excited about and trust yourself. That is the way to get to your own best work!
I can totally relate to some degree! im an autistic female, im 26 years old now and at shool i was always told i was lazy and just lacked confidence and im convincing myself i cant do it. This was far from the case! with math i would be so confident that i got it right but 9 times out of 10 i got it wrong and i sacrificed most of my time to learning and getting better to prove everyoe wrong. I never got better no matter how hard i tried. i always have been doing art since i was a toddler and at 17 i wanted to do a fine art course to learn about landscape art and learn new ways of creating and they ended up telling me my art style wasnt what they wanted on the course. so i gave up and now i have taught myself more skills and making my own projects. just because they underestimated me doesnt make me less than. i create my own path now
Always inspired by your stories and insights Val! Thanks for this one!
So glad! Thanks for letting me know
