was snacking on some pistachios yesterday and I found one that was twice the size of the others, and all I could think was that it was an 8-question pistash
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when you held up the flute for Apollo to do the doot doot and he said 'white'. Adorable. Right after you wanted him to say what color the ball was and he rattled off red, purple.
I still really wonder whether Apollo's colour perception impacts his ability to reliably identify "white." I know he gets it right sometimes, but he seems to misidentify it more often than other colours. Given that parrots have much wider colour vision and better ability to see ultraviolet, I really wonder if what looks like "white" to us may look different to him -- perhaps less distinct from the other colours, perhaps changing more depending on what light sources are reflecting off it, etc.
Guess all birds have the same routine. Have a cockatiel and a bourke, and they both do the exact same thing as Apollo in the morning. One leg out stretch, wing out, huge deuce, then search for grub.
It is wonderful to watch your interaction with these beautiful birds. Your work with Apollo is truly inspiring - I do hope it will help lead to changing attitudes about animal intelligence. All my life I have been trying to convince people to stop underestimating animals' sentience so that they might be treated with more more respect and kindness.❤
I could never imagine how agrivating it is when they aren't cooperating or listening. That's why I stick to my reptiles. Dumb as rocks, just they way I like em.
Mmh these archive videos are like your earlier main channel vids, love these. Rock feels advanced level and like a source of confusion: IS rock and IS MADE OF rock
I think the reason why Apollo isn’t touching the rag is because he’s scared of it. Anytime you move with it too fast for him, he ducks. Just an observation. I’m glad he’s not afraid of the table anymore!! That took awhile. Lol
I notice Apollo is much more reluctant to name an object's colour than its name or material. It seems their vision is different from ours (they can apparently perceive UV light on top of the spectrum of colours we see), and perhaps this means that certain objects could look a different colour to them than to us, hence the confusion around colours?
Same poopie thing with my lizard! Morning poopie routine, she needs to do it otherwise she will be impacted, not to mention the same kind of poopie 😂 beardies are quite like apollo but they arent vocal, she does the same head banging and head bobbing, when she moves her arms they move quite like apollo feet, it is different in comparison to cats and dogs and to other reptiles as well
I wonder if birds have a harder time distinguishing between sounds that their physiology can't make as easily? I have no idea how that would be determined, but it would be cool to find out
@neuropathos296 that's what I kind of sensed from watching many videos now... but... maybe SOMETIMES... he feels a little cuddly now and then. But maybe not, and that's ok. He's one cool birdy... no matter what. 💜
Dalton Apolo messing with you when you ask what colour. He knows he just wants to be a baby. That's what little ones do play. He is playing. Nature is so lovely and we not birds and visa versa but we love you, Apollo hugs from down under. Its our Australia 🇦🇺 day to day. They wanted to take it away from us but we stand tall. ✌️Love 👫🧒👧👶🐞🐳🦎🐙🦜🍀🩷❤️💜💛🧡🩵💚💞🇺🇸🕯️
“Apollo, can you touch colour green?”
Apollo: nods
Technically correct, where pine nut
was snacking on some pistachios yesterday and I found one that was twice the size of the others, and all I could think was that it was an 8-question pistash
Nice 😂
😂😂
Aw, the way Ophelia pushes the little blocks around like a cart every time she touches them is adorable.
Watching Apollo try to get a new object down is like the Spongebob clip when Patrick is trying to grab the lid and does it accidentally.
I don't think I've ever heard Apollo say "I want to earn a pistash" as clearly as he does at 25:22
Ophelia never has any idea what's going on (affectionate) and I love that for her
So fun that the first thing Apollo said after waking up is "Earn a pistach?" 😂
If I'm not mistaken they get a pistache first thing in the morning once they've done their poops lol
Is he potty trained????
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when you held up the flute for Apollo to do the doot doot and he said 'white'.
Adorable. Right after you wanted him to say what color the ball was and he rattled off red, purple.
Love how Appolo clearly knows the difference between "touch" and "throw" but still throws 90% of "touches" just because he likes to
Followed by BALL
Apollo nodding when asked to do stuff is giving the energy of when teachers would reply "I don't know, CAN you go to the bathroom" 😂
Dalton is soooo calm and patient 😊
You can tell he knows the answers, but he likes to be cheeky and give the wrong answer.

Love the way you have your house setup for the birds! I’m going to use a few of your ideas. Great channel brother!
9:34 His voice when he's frustrated is so cute and sad 😭
I think he was confused bc the rag was further away
Asked to touch blue, born to steal snack
Dalton: "Apollo, touch rag."
Apollo: "👁️👄👁️ wanna snack."
I love these goddamn birds, they always bring a smile 😀
I love this format, could genuinely watch lots more like this :]
0:34 oh my gosh that is the biggest poo ive ever seen come out of a bird. I was physically shocked.
if i hadn't scrolled and seen this comment i wouldn't have even noticed he pooped...
YES
Same. But the first morning poop is going to be the biggest.
@@ratchschleuczynski9821 yeah I heard Tori say that in a live but I didn’t think it would be that huge 😭
I pooped on by a great blue heron when hiking one time and it was....a loooooot. 😂
That morning moment was so sweet!! 0:15
ikr he kissed daltons cheek 😭😭
Ophilia is an ace with the colors

I like seeing them wake up in the start of the video and seeing their bird bedroom!
1:10 Edd, Ed, Eddy Theme

Sock!

❤ i love you birds 🐦

Apollo was being silly that day
1:15 am I hallucinating or was that ed, edd n eddy opening song?
Fantastic poop!
Wake up at morning. First question, wanna earn pistash ? Love it.

Lol nice edit 5:02
Ophelia has an alternative of thinking
Apollo is so smart! Is it possible to teach him to count? He seems to have a good enough object permanance
They had some videos on that a while back, trying to count to four in think!
I wonder if birds have a harder time distinguishing between sounds that their physiology can't make as easily? I have no idea how that would be determined, but it would be cool to find out
Something that I find interesting is that it seems like during multiple choice his accuracy goes way down. I wonder why that is.
Loss of concentration perhaps. And the birds might also think that it's much easier just to guess the right answer
Soleil is my spirit animal
Shrock
That poo was LOUD hitting the floor.
Has Apollo ever blushed before? I know greys and macaws can, for many reasons
1:07 Was that a Grub Hub Ad?
Hey Apollo, whats this made of? bleeblew pour water
Apollo lost his DOOT DOOT
1:16 i did not knwo he could sing the Ed,Edd,and Eddie theme song😭😭😭the nostalgia is real
I think that was Dalton mimicking his earlier whistle because Apollo’s beak wasn’t moving at all.
Does Apollo allow you to pet the area around his eyes? It looks like it would be impossibly soft. 😍
Apollo's not really a petting bird
@neuropathos296 that's what I kind of sensed from watching many videos now... but... maybe SOMETIMES... he feels a little cuddly now and then.

@marychase3720 the only creature he's cuddly for is Soleil.
Did you name after a rocket 🚀

Frick yeah what a great idea! 🦜🦜🦜
First! Not that it matters 😂
I think you shouldn't teach 'shrock' because it's too similar to Shrek and rock.
