What I love about Brian Setzer is his dedication to the genre of rockabilly over 40 years. He's such a great guitarist, totally unpretentious, he just oozes style & his musicality befuddles those who think great playing is all about speed, aggression and attitude. His chord work and solo runs are just beautiful. And he knows his Gretsch beauties inside out.
My wife and I danced to this as our first dance at our wedding 27 years ago - The BSO version! It still brings me to tears. Last week she asked for a divorce. It’s heart breaking.
I agree. Wasn't impressed at all. I get a kick out of people that like a particular way someone plays a song so it means the person is the greatest. Lot of action on the fret board and wow he's the greatest. Reminds of a guy I used to work with a lot of motion but at the end of the day not much done.
Come on Brian! You destroy a beautiful classic just to show your razz-a-ma-tazz . That should should be played with a certain respect for its beauty of composition. All that frantic running around removes the song from beautiful ballad to the ranks of Edgar Winters Frankenstein!
i prefere his other version if you google it (sounds nearly the same but better). yes its jazzy but i prefere it much more over the crap that others play. they can´t even do the simple covers lol
A God among guitarists. This man single handedly brought back Rockabilly music in the 80's to present.
