Nice guy, met him while i was at a restaurant in Hawaii back in 92 - came out to the bar that night with the rest of the band just to grab a few beers and chill
I first seen this clip a very long time ago on a recorded tape i was around 10 years old and being obsessed with brian setzer and the Gretsch guitar after seing la bamba the movie.. i had been playing guitar already but this made want a Gretsch... and play like brian... im 37 now and still play today.. and proud to own a 6120 brian setzer signature Gretsch which i treasure more then life...
Side note… Jeff Baxter has since (almost by accident) become a world-renowned expert in ballistic missile technology and asymmetrical warfare and currently holds one of the highest civilian security clearances possible.
that's one hell of a gretsch commercial!!! Man he can play sleepwalk...every time I see him play it it's so different...he can just improvise over that so well...all the perfect chords...
Cool! Just saw Setzer with his Rockabilly riot a week ago. Setzer has a nice tone. By the way at the end of the video you can see a little bit of Steve Lukather's Valley Arts strat.
I quite understand about the sensual shape of the guitar, Brian - just like the curves in a double bass, in fact. The most wonderful thing is that you can hold her and play her like no other.
I don’t know for certain what he was plugged into here, but in interviews for his The Dirty Boogie album tour he said he was using two Fender Twin Reverbs. He didn’t mention whether or not they were modified, but I’d be surprised if they hadn’t been.
hendrixnut64 my apologies as I wasn’t clear. What I meant was, has anyone seen it on TH-cam because I’d love to see the whole thing again., my original copy was stolen.
One of the best guitarists of all time .
Criminally underrated, Brian Setzer is truly a master. Those tones are so beautiful and his phrasing is on point
I agree, Brian is one of the most amazing, overlooked and unappreciated guitarists on earth. I don't know anyone who comes close to him in his genre.
And he just seems like an awesome dude!

@yestoES355 dumb, he's not underrated

Two great players
Yes Brian……..yes!
I found a big smile on my face at the end.
Two greats, the real deal.
Amazing 🤩
Brian Setzer and Johnny Marr ... two of the best.
I love the sound of the Hollow and semi-hollow electrics!
I agree with everything you say, Brian👍🎸😎
Be still my heart.......❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😘😘😘
😍😍😍
Just doodling and noodling on his guitar and it's awesome sounding. DANG he's good!!

I couldn't have said it better
I died when he started criticising the other types of guitars and that bloke looked down at his own 😂
Nothing wrong with the telecaster and some delay!!!

@@jimguzzy3824 it was a stratocaster, even though it was acrylic.

I have a 59 later Gretsch 6120 and its 2:5" thick as his is 2:75" thick. Would love to know what gear he is plugged into.

I used to have this doc on VHS. I wonder if the whole thing is on the www somewhere.

Has anybody seen the full video this clip is from? The title is simply “Guitar.”
Yes I have it on vhs and laserdisc
hendrixnut64 my apologies as I wasn’t clear. What I meant was, has anyone seen it on TH-cam because I’d love to see the whole thing again., my original copy was stolen.
When Brian's ducktail turned into a mullet
He is always cool xxxx
He took the skull and cross bones off of it😩
this is from 91...way before he even put them ON
hendrixnut64 If you look at the headstock, you’ll see the imprint of where the sticker was. It was on during his Stray Cat days. Way before 1991.
