All of your pallet cabin videos are going to be a wonderful help for me. So far, I've rounded up enough pallets and materials to get a 12×12 floor complete. I hadn't seen your channel, until now so my subfloor was done with pallets, covered by osb. I'm a single mom who recently became homeless because I finally decided to get the nerve up to leave my abusive ex. My two boys and I are floating, at the moment, between a friend's tiny one bedroom apartment, when they are with me and I sleep on my 96 Bronco, whenever the boys are with their dad. I've always been there for or helped any and everyone that I ever could but life has finally shown me that there are too many people out here who were not terribly deserving of another person's good deeds... Seeing how I've asked several handfuls of people for just a moment of their time and extra pair of hands... Most saying oh sure, I'd love to.... But never showing up. Let's just say, it's definitely taking me a little more time than I'd anticipated but I'm determined and intent on building this little place.. even if it's totally on my own! God's got me and my little boys! It hasn't been easy and I've gotten more than angry, several times and all thanks to a few people not keeping their word. I will eventually succeed in finishing this build. Still, I don't plan on changing being a good person, only who I do more or less for. It's, for sure, been an eye opener, for me and my boys, also. I am their everything, like they are mine. One is 7, the other is 11 and they're already better men than most men I've ever known. I've basically been the mother and father, all of their lives so I love to teach them things and even more, learn new things with them. I've taken them fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, etc... Not their dad but me because I want them to know how to survive and be men... As they should be able to. So, thank you, for the videos of your pallet cabin, hopefully it will help us all in this process... Taking a break from it, now that it's so cold wet out but hope to get back to it ASAP. Our friends landlord told us yesterday we can't keep staying here and he doesn't have anything available to rent, not to mention covid-19 going on, I can barely find any financial help or anything at the moment.. which TOTALLY screws Christmas... No tree at this apt of my friends and so far no gifts for my boots because making sure they're fed, bathed and warm are too important, opposed to opening gifts... Which I will do whatever I need to in order to have at least a couple small things... I just hope that one day, they'll understand and not hate me for it, lol! May have to start back at it sooner than I thought, due to the landlord's little ordeal so I suppose I need to find more pallets, materials and get ready to TRY to achieve this little goal... It will be so awesome to have our own little place, again. It may be smaller but it will be ours and my ex won't be anywhere near it! The best part will be the boys faces 🥰😍 Christmas morning will have nothing on that!! January 17th 2020 I left my abusive drug addicted husband & it was not a good year for most of the world but I kept my faith in God & now a year later I have a house (nothing special but it's home) a decent car & a good job so I wanted to drop a comment saying your doing amazing & if you were in Florida I'd come help you in a heartbeat 💙💖
I have been where you are. I know the feeling. Since age 2 & 1/2 years old. I have been a caregiver or helped others. But now that I need a little help no one is around. I am now disabled with severe mobility issues. I just need a hand up. Praying for you & your boys.
Some nice sunny weather, a good friend or two or a father and son team, piles of free lumber to do what you want with and building a cabin together with it! It’s building memories the right way👍🏼What’s not to like? Stay healthy, stay safe✌🏼
I was wondering the same. Maybe a warm enough climate that they don’t need insulation or a stove? I would love one for cooking as well but maybe butane is more fuel efficient?
When was the last time any of you had access to any free pallets that big and in such good condition....Never. This is not a true do it yourself pallet build when all we ever see are odd sized pallets in not that good of shape. those pallets were nearly as good as buying lumber from home depot! Not likely to happen for the rest of us!
