Isaac is a fricking surgeon with a torch. no deviation in distance from the piece. no deviation in speed while cutting. I've yet to find anyone better using a torch than him. Mad props to you Sir Isaac.....

I am 61 years old and learned torch cutting when I was a young teenager. I even learn to weld with a torch before I ever used any type of electric welding machine. Not much impresses me these days but your skills with a torch are out-of-this-world.
You torch cut like a laser.
    Simply Amazing!!!

Holy crap! I think you have to be the king of free hand cutting straight lines! I happened on this video because I was looking for tips on cutting really thick steel. Chunk of plate is too big for my Ellis bandsaw and destroyed the blade in my Milwaukee metal cutting saw so I wondered if I could get my cutting torch through it. You answered my question and then some. Awesome work sir!

The cutting torch is commonly referred to as a "gas axe". In Isaac's hands it becomes a "gas scalpel". Simply amazing!

@@michaelminers2612 yea that second cut I dont even think you could cut that thin with a saw i mean yea it decarbs and slags the surface but that was an even unburned out thin cut off. as good or better then some machines, especially when you have someone that dont use the machine as often and gets an ugly cut. and if there is a better worker with a torch I have yet to see them in my feed, and thats a thick chunk of metal got to keep it steady or it will not get an even cut very easy to go too fast

Astonishing skills with a torch. That first cut, where the entry and exit cuts are straight and exactly in the same plane is amazing. Most people would struggle to get the entry cut straight - but to create an almost perfectly flat surface that long AND that wide is just next level. Amazing. Thanks for the videos. Stay safe out there.

When I was a young man, I worked as a draftsman at a steel supplier drawing full scale patterns for torch cutting machine that could follow my drawing with an "electric eye" and cut out as many as 6-8 parts at a time. This was before CNC, laser cutters and water jets. Had to add an extra 1/8" all around for the kerf and for final machining. They could cut up to 10-12" thick steel plate if I remember correctly. I was always impressed with the fact that you could cut metal that thick with a torch. Some of my drawings were quite large as they were to be made into large paper making machinery.

another awesome video Issac, back in the mid 80's i worked for CML Northern Blower here in Canada ,we built exhaust/fresh air units up to the capacity 1 million cubic feet of air a minute and for the pedestal base of the unit we used armour plate usually 2- 3" thick and all torch cut, using a guide, i could do a bit of the 2" thick and i sure learned how to be patient, to plan and take my time cutting, couldn't afford to make mistakes, i could never cut freehand like you do, that is an art all in its own, that steel looked smoother than a Sunday roast beef dinner when you were done 👍

A very nice job for sure, however if you score the line where you want to cut with a cut off disc, about one sixteenth of an inch the flame will want to follow the score. If you cut to the scrap side of the line you will have a nice smooth straight edge left on the good side, be able to cut with less pre-heat flame producing a nicer cut. This tip is more for your viewers who want to improve your game as there is absolutely nothing wrong with your technique.
