    That is a very informative and useful video. We plan to be out next year and will need work now and again. I have an off-topic question. I really like the look of your chairs. Are they comfortable and what is the brand?

    • @RoamingWithRosie

      Thank you. The chairs we're sitting on in the RV? Those were original with the Alfa. They're pretty comfortable, leather. A bit worn in. They have ottomans too.

    Just like if your waiting to have enough money to have a baby,to retire to travel. It will never come, have your baby,go ahead and retire go ahead and travel:the money will come ;you don’t need as much as you think.

      We set aside a monthly budget and have found that we are able to do the things we want to do and still come in less than what we had budgeted. You're right you have to do what you want to do there will never be a perfect time. Sometimes you just have to take the leap. Just don't go into it with no plan.Thanks for watching!

    Amazon Camperforce has gone downhill. The season is longer so you can’t do both the Beet Harvest and Amazon, which a lot of work campers do. They don’t book and provide a free campsite for you either. Instead you are given $120-140/mo (depends on location) towards a site, that you have to find yourself. A lot of Camperforce people are having trouble finding a site now and have to pay out of pocket to make up the cost difference. The weekly stipend is also taxable.
    For these reasons alone l would pass on Amazon.
    Working for just Full Hook Ups is a dealbreaker too. I can camp for free in most places. If it’s a few days a week l can see it but a lot of places expect their work campers to work a 40 hour week for a site! When are you supposed to get out and explore?
    I work camped for 3 years and found that working 40-45 hours a week severely limited what l could do and having to find another job every 4-6 months gets tedious. I’m waiting to retire and want to do it part time or something like the beet harvest, which is only a few weeks.

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. That's why we featured ONLY paying jobs from entirely different sources. In fact the Alaska jobs we talked about provide travel and rooms.

    I was wondering if you have any information for Canadian citizens who would like to work seasonal jobs throughout the USA. Do know/heard of any Canadians that have done this. Canadians can stay 6 months in the states but how does it work if you wish to do working trips for short term work in the camp sites. Any information would be appreciated. Great video. 👍

    Do any of the jobs pay on a cash basis? We are retired and as most know, you can only make a certain amount at our age (63). Social security dictates how much money we can make until a few more years. 😩

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Probably not. They are all larger businesses. But there was part time available. Ruby's had minimal hours available, probably for just that reason. All were particularly looking for seniors. There's all your links in the description of the video. Best of luck.

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of the jobs in this video did not require couples. But the promise of a campsite is not in the Alaska situation as they were very remote. I would recommend rewatching the video and/or going to the websites in the description for the most up to date info. Well this is interesting, retired last June, have a big brand new class C, selling house in northern illinois and buying a sticks and bricks, down sizing. And we looked at work sites a little bit last year, this sheds a bit more light on it . Looking to go south, but still want a sticks and bricks with a big Morton building for the coach. I looked for older coach’s similar to yours and they’re somewhat difficult to find in good shape. Preferably with cat engine beings I drove semi’s for 40 years. I really like the work campsite idea! It works in my mindset. Looking forward to your next video. Regards.

I like the warmer climates and wonder if there are jobs in the southern part of the country. That was our inspiration too. We didn't want to wait cause too many friends we knew retired and then weren't able to go and do things because of health issues. Bill and I always said that at some point we may do some of those jobs. Ruby's Inn sounds like a great area. The ONP also sounds good. The Princess Cruise opportunity sounds really nice. Alaska is absolutely beautiful. We passed one of those lodges when we went to Alaska a couple years ago. The free cruise is a cool benefit. Great interviews.
