What's interesting about the walker tied up in the car is that we assume is was a kidnapped person. However, it is entirely possible that the person turned and someone cared about them enough to tie them up so they wouldn't bite and tried to take them to safety, but got killed (or had to bail) somewhere along the way.
Maggie, Sasha, and Daryl all have 1 thing in common: they all lost their siblings. Daryl lost Merle, Maggie lost Beth and Shawn, Sasha lost Tyreese. Daryl feels like he failed both Hershel AND Beth. Maggie lost HER ENTIRE FAMILY. Sasha lost the hope Bob and Tyreese gave her. This episode is so heartbreaking for them. Even when it starts raining, they cant enjoy it. 😞 But yet they were the first three up fighting to protect the group from the storm. They havent given up all hope yet.
The barn scene where they are holding the doors shut is one of my top 5 all time favourite They are dealing with their grief in different ways but they are able to come together as a group to keep each other safe Very powerful and makes me emotional every time I see it.
I wish Little Baby Judith had suddenly gotten up and ran to the door to push it as well. Lol probably would have messed with the emotion of the scene but I would love it.
At the start of the episode they didn’t bother using their energy to take out the walkers, yet by the end of it they are using all of the energy that they have left to keep that barn door closed. One of the most powerful scenes in the entire show
In a sense The Walking Dead was never completely about the zombies It was to show how civilized people would respond if the world they knew came to an end and how much of their humanity they’d leave behind.
Enjoyed your reaction. Firstly, thanks Phil for posting these videos so regularly - really appreciate all you hard work.👍 Yes a very heavy episode. I loved that despite the trials and tribulations they are going through, they STILL ALL stuck together and are resilient even during that tornado storm, we see them all get up and work together to hold that barn door shut against the walkers, yet Daryl didnt need to scream for help, they just all saw what they needed to do and just automatically did it, that was symbolic almost like showing if we work together looking out for one another like a family in one unison, and one accord we are strong and a mighty force as "ONE", a bond, a family that cannot be broken, even little Judith, she's tough and hardly cries even though she must be hungry too, poor baba. I remember watching this thinking thank you Lord not only did you bring the storm, it gave them water, then it gave them protection and took out the walkers or trapped them and then you brought food then shelter. It was sad watching Maggie, Sasha and Daryl going through it each dealing with their loss differently, although Sasha is behaving a little recklessly. Then we see Gabriel ripping of his collar and Abraham protecting Eugene, YET again. Interesting Rick using that line "...we say we are the Walking Dead", Daryl didn’t agree when he got up to walk off and said "we're not them". Was heartbreaking seeing my Daryl cry even after re-watching this soooo many times - when Daryl cries, we ALL cry.😢😭 Hmmm Aaron - can they trust him and how does he know Rick's name?🤔🤨 P.S. Phil do you remember where you got up to watching TWD or will you tell us when the time co mes?
I'm guessing a herd of walkers was making their way through the woods, and when the wind got to the barn doors and made them slam and the chain holding them rattle - the walkers got interested and moved in that direction.
It is funny, because this life has become so routine for the characters at this point that a single walker standing next to them is just merely an annoyance to be dealt with. Like "oh fine, I'll take care of you, hang on *gets up, sighing*".
If Shane was still alive he'd be much worse than Rick at this point. Rick isn't unhinged. He's brutal when he needs to be. I love Jon Bernthal and imagine how good of a duo he and Rick could've been if Shane didn't lose his mind. Sadly Shane started going insane pretty much immediately when Rick came back to camp in season 1 episode 3. Just look at how Shane was already considering killing Rick in the woods during their sweep in season 1 when Dale saw him point his gun at Rick. Rick would never betray a friend, much less plan to kill them.
Comic Comparisons : The iconic We Are The Walking Dead speech was given much earlier in the comics After waking up from a coma after fighting with Tyreese in the wake of Carol’s self-harm (Rick blamed Tyreese for Carol’s self-harm because Carol and Tyreese were dating and Michonne seduced Tyreese and Carol saw it)
Looks like this episode first aired about a decade ago. Probably the only time I ever saw it. So yeah, tons of surprise. I don't remember all the details from 10 years ago.
Aaaaaand this is where I really began to dislike Sasha. The tracks to Terminus had already put me off. And Bob’s death. This really did me in. They’re ALL going through it right now. They’ve ALL lost a lot. You don’t see anyone else acting like that.
When Rick says: "We are the walking dead" give me chills all the time

Wow. Such a good observation.

I agree, Draven Quinn

Me and my wife just found yall, we are huge TWD fans and really enjoy yall reactions....
haha amazing. Appreciate you both for watching with us!!
Aaron comes out of nowhere and says hi. I’d like to talk to you about your cars extended warranty.
The scene of Daryl crying over Beth just breaks my heart He’s so strong and brave and not afraid of anything but he has the biggest heart.
I agree, Draven Quinn
I agree the heart that man gives to the group is so amazing to watch.
Rick Grimes We tell ourselves that we are The Walking Dead one of the best speeches he’s made.
I agree, Draven Quinn

The title of the episode Them refers to Daryl’s reply of We ain’t them following Rick’s speech at the barn.
My bad its the future ones but it fits for episode 12 onwards
I agree, Draven Quinn
I know this episode is slow but I love it!! Shows how low you can go even in a very capable group situation!

Right?!
14:30 "so it's your fault"
Sounded just like Sasha 😂
Season three Rick won’t let Carl eat dog food Season five They are eating dogs.
I agree, Draven Quinn
Wow. They’ve really been through it 😥
I love this episode for just how incredibly Bleak the situation is.
YEAH THIS IS WHAT I LOVE TO SEE
2:20 Yeah, only humans turn into Walkers. In the Resident Evil series, any living being turns into a zombie or mutantes into a monster
Fun Fact: Norman Reedus actually ate a real worm during this episode.
I agree, Draven Quinn
I'd be surprised if it wasn't real. He also ate an eel in place of that rattlesnake so gross
@@movieman175😮 the commitment is unreal
Aaron? its on now, we know where we are headed.....
The wallker in the trunk reminded Maggie of Beth.smh

My favorite episode of the series

Ya'll should watch Z Nation. Its fun, got some sad parts but mostly fun!
Barely walking 1 mile per hour at this point. And they are going down a roadway, in VA with no or few stations for necessities.
Aaron debut in the walking dead
Location! Location! Season 5 seems to be all about location! Will the group ever find a home?
Sounds very Crowley of you. Location location location
Aaron may se like a bad person bit believe me he becomes one of the group and he is a a bad ass. One of my absolute favorite characters in T.W
D
Why spoil it? Smh
I thought you have seen this, yet you are surprised by literally everything?
Looks like this episode first aired about a decade ago. Probably the only time I ever saw it. So yeah, tons of surprise. I don't remember all the details from 10 years ago.
How much of the show did you see btw? Like did you finish all 11 seasons? I wanna know which point is completely unseen by you. @PhilipManzano
Sorry just saw this comment. Around season 8, I believe.
Are the uncut reactions only on patreon
Correct. With TH-cam restrictions, even content in memberships would get blocked if it's uncut.

Yeah, but luckily, it's just a phase. She's better by season 6, so the extremely annoying Sasha lasts about a half season.
Grief affects everyone differently, unlike some Sasha never recovered
