that was a very nice test for 1 gallon Mark!
With more larger frames coming out now that support the 140cm props, I wonder if Vittorazi will come out with a reduction drive option for the atom 80 with a gear ratio compatible with a larger prop. Love the content, keep it up!
If they want to keep up with the Top 80 they will. I almost guarantee it. It's probably in the works if not being tested
Edit(11July2023): they approved the vitto Helix 140 prop for the Atom 80. I've been flying it and it's very efficient. I got a 7hr 50 minute flight on it 😱.
@@MarkHuneycutt that's absolutely wild.. what is your wing and pilot weight, and any idea what your average tail wind was?
Nice to know gives you perspective on flight time
Rocking the Ron Jeremy look mark !!
Mind in Gutter thoughts, eh?
I like that you rock that atom 80 like me.
Nice test! I wish I could come close to your fuel burn rate. I've got a moster 185, less than 100 hours, new carb and I'm burning 6 liters/hour. It's crazy. I've used two different wings and they both have the same burn rate so I know it's not the wings I'm flying. I wish I knew what the problem is.
I guess if it's running fuel inefficiently, your spark plug should be very black. Check that. If it is, lean the carb out a bit, fly for 15 minutes and check your plug. You can adjust from there.
@@MarkHuneycutt Thanks! I'll check out the plug.
@@ParamotorSteve Were you able to figure out the problem of excessive fuel burn? Thanks!
Unfortunately no. Though it doesn’t matter anymore because I sold it and got a macfly with a barely used moster 185. 4.75 to 5 liters an hour so I’m happier with that!!
You should have gone for the UK gallon, then you would have been able to run for a bit longer ;). Nice video Mark.
Threw the liters in there for ya UKers at the end.
@@MarkHuneycutt haha, just a bit of banter :)
@@GolfFoxtrot22 I like it. 🍻
Excellent!
I'm gonna run out of gas now ! One Gallon Challenge!
Bro where do you fly in NC? Your area looks beautiful. I am out in Charlotte but would love a new site :)
That just makes me want an Atom80 all that much more. Electric may be the future but batteries are sure as F**k not cheap as gas in any respect. This was interesting 🙂
Do you have any problem with your neighborhood about the engine noise in the morning?
My atom 80 burns a crazy amount of fuel like 5L/h. How can I tune the carb to be more fuel efficient?
Same for me. What wing are you on?
@@curtislavoie2242 Viper XC 20. I have a friend who gets 3.5L on the same wing.
Definitely beats the equivalent weight in battery for an electric paramotor. By a long shot.
So... About those electric paramotors. Mark just proved a point to a degree, a lighter combustion engine paramotor can fly longer on 1 gallon of fuel than a fully charged foot launch electric powered paramotor. Haters gonna hate, but they don't even know who I am (automotive mechantronics engineer with experience in electrification and lithium battery development and testing). I dream of building a real electric paramotor with a 2 hour endurance. It's 100% achievable today right now, it's called a tandem frame with 160 lbs of lithium battery pack in the passenger seat. It's not going to be cheap, why I haven't committed to such a project.
Someone is Florida is doing this with a trike/quad loaded with batteries as we speak 👀
@@MarkHuneycutt I love it when us tinkerers come to the same conclusions independently, because it means it's a good idea...but I thought of it first 🤣
I'm rooting for 1:45
only 1:28 :( however that included take off
thx for the L/hr conversion 2.58L/h that is pretty good.
It mostly depends on the motor and weather situation I guess
Mark Huneycutt
No
Nice
Nice video ...pliz send mi the link where I can buy atom 80 engine
On a vitto at 320lb all up on a 23m about 40 minutes :)
What size prop was this?
125 Vitto fast acceleration prop
So 1.28 minutes would equal how many miles
Just curious if You have any feedback or feelings about Me, if You feel like answering...
I fly a Top with a 140 17/75 It has been great
What wing and size? What's your weight? How's the fuel burn?
@@MarkHuneycutt Im underweighted. 26M 160lbs I burn 2l/h. my brother on the same setup 180lbs burns barely more. But i can climb straight up
@@ohiyesa2328 Awesome fuel burn rate!
@@MarkHuneycutt Ya it costs like $2 an hour with oil. I run non-ethanol and the miniplane has a thirteen liter tank. I never put more than five
@@ohiyesa2328 super fuel efficient.
Are you a light weight rider ? How much do you weigh?
165lbs
Man IM sure uv seen the video I wish you would throw a copyright claim on SUPER DICK I MEAN SUPER DELL.....I wish you would sue him for defamation over this video he put out.....SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUT A END TO HIS B.S.....but you should be able to sue for damages....
Doesn't FAR 103.2 e.2. specify 5 US gal max. That would last forever!!!
