    After drinking the blue Gatorade for two preps I can’t drink it any other time *shudder*. First colonoscopy and prep weren’t too bad. The last one however were a real pain on multiple levels. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and you get all the information you need. Sushi is too cute in the background.

    I just did this last week. It was this first time I had this done and it was easier this time with a stoma. Used Miralax and Gatorade Ice. Yes, had IV sedation. In Australia you can be awake for it. I did not use a large bag, I just emptied every hour till bedtime. I took the Pills first and then started drinking the Gatorade.

      First time with a stoma I mean.

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, with it being my first prep with a Stoma as well it definitely was different but much better to what I've previously experienced.

    That looks like a sleeve for peopl who irrigate their colon daily and then don't have output the rest of the day so they can just put a small closed bag or pouch over it.

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is exactly what it is! It's the Irrigation Sleeve, and was very helpful.

    Oh yeah I can relate. Colon prep and my ibs do not agree, period. The pain is real unfortunately. I hope your colonoscopy went smoothly and that you get answers you need.

    Oh my goodness 😳 My 🎩 goes off to you!
    I've only done one colonoscopy in my life and the prep was very... interesting. I had to eliminate all fibre from my diet a week before (apart from drinking the laxative the night before) and I can definitely say that I've never 🚶‍♀️ 💨 so much in my life 🙈
    Praying for the colonoscopy to go well and for good news 🙏🏻

      Lol peoples first prep is always one to remember. And having Crohn's, I've used the bathroom 10+ times on a bad flare day. I stopped counting at 10 times......so I'm no stranger to the bathroom lol

    Did you only have to do one bottle of miralax? My mom’s doctor is making her take 4 of those bottles and I’m wondering if that’s too much prep.

    When did my scope they had 2 dulcolax at noon then start that mirilax split in a half. Half in pm and half in early am. I did vitamin water. My mistake was using the sugar free. Got electrolytes but my blood sugar plummeted

      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว

    That prolapse looks pretty significant doesn't it? You poor thing! 😞

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว

      It gets pretty dam long lol
      As long as it doesn't cause any issues with output and no severe abdominal pain then they don't really do much for it.

  • @shellcshells2902
    @shellcshells2902 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For your colonoscopy do you get put under anesthesia like people who have it done via their rectum?

    • @annebebee6764
      @annebebee6764 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I did last week!

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! I don't want to see that scope slowly going deeper and deeper through my abdomen lol
      It's not painful obviously, but it's probably not comfortable either.

      So it's from Coloplast, it's a Irrigation Sleeve Bag.

    I've had to call my Dr twice now because I wasn't able to complete the prep. Extreme nausea with lovely vomiting of prep hours after drinking just a 3rd. Anyone else unable to tolerate polywhatsit glycol?
    I was given Golytly in hospital, unable to tolerate so enemas all night. Then, given for prep in August. Fail. Now, here's the "insanity".... Given Myralax prep, which is polywhatsit glycol, and surprise, nausea and vomiting with anti nausea pill on board.
    OMG.
    Anyone else have problem?
    And, yes, they've now given me that other prep for December scheduled 3rd try. It's kinda a sulfa based produce. I'm allergic to a type of sulfa drug. The two aren't the same type of sulfa, soooo. Oh, dear.

    • @TheRawLife1
      @TheRawLife1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow, just wow. I'm so sorry your going through all of that. I really hope you were able to complete the prep for the December scope.
      Maybe you have to just drink it from the morning time, like super small amount just all day?
      But maybe your body just straight hates it lol

    • @jessicah3450
      @jessicah3450 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used Plenvu, it's the p-whatever-glycol plus a ton of electrolytes to prevent an imbalance, which can cause nausea. More electrolytes than Gatorade. I also got a prescription for Zofran, since I know I tend to get nauseous easily. Being super-hydrated a few days before the prep helps too, because you lose more fluid on prep day than you can drink. It has to already be built up in your tissues. I drank like a gallon or more of water and Liquid IV when I started the low fiber diet 3 days before the prep.
      It wasn't pleasant but I was surprised I didn't puke. I usually couldn't stomach Miralax when I was taking it for my IBS.
