There are lots "awkward phrases", if you need a professional in translation into vietnamese, you can reach out to me via upwork by search for my name"Tan Long Nguyen" Thanks for the review

    Hey Lauren! Another Top Rated Upwork freelancer here :) I'd like to say that the rule about distributing the Upwork fees is for making $500 with THAT client and not just making $500 in general. So making $500 with a single client will reduce your fee to 10% for THAT client only. Keep up the good content :)

    My only issue with hourly rates as an artist is if I'm really good and fast at my craft, the money I should get paid is cut because I'm efficient? That's nonsense. But I get it if you have to create a reputation and especially if you are new.

    • @WanderlustmovementOrg

      Up your hourly rate to one that makes you feel happy then. There are no hard rules when it comes to charging what you feel your time is worth. Hello. How do you "transfer" your clients to your own business/website? Like how do you not use UpWork as your primary source of finding clients because when I submit a proposal, it says they will suspend my account or take legal action. Thank you.

    • @Emily-if4wi
      @Emily-if4wi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you already attempt to transfer a client to your own site? Upwork’s terms of use state that if you want to do that (or use any other third-party platform to communicate and get work done) within the first 2 years of meeting that client, you need to pay Upwork a conversion fee. Otherwise, you’ll breach the terms and have your account suspended… just a caution!

    Well fee doesn't go down to 10% after the first $500, you gotta make more than $500 with each client and it really sucks tbh and seems unfair to me, doesn't even make sense cause If I'm making over $500 from each project it probably still would be worth paying 20% cause whatever you make good enough money anyways but when you earn small amounts like $30, $50 from each client plus you gotta buy credits plus you pay dozens of taxes to transfer it to Paypal than Paypal to your card its totally not worth it and eliminates that kind of freelancers, If I'm making more than $10 000 from a single client on Upwork why would I go somewhere else to begin it from a zero ground even you cut 10% instead of 5

  • @shivinunitholi2493
    @shivinunitholi2493 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The answer is NO. First - it takes eons to get that first job. Second - There's no guarantee it would be a good client. Some might wanna assign more work for pennies and not even bother to give you a good review. Third - Chances are you'd spend hours and days hunting for your second client and exhaust all your connects.
    Speaking this from a first-hand experience. Content like these are just dopamine shots for ppl who just wanna feel good watching others' success stories.
    My advice - If you get a job as a janitor or as an ice cream seller in the neighborhood, do it coz even they make more money than newbies on Upwork.

    So why do Upworkers have to pay $10 to apply to job opportunities there? That seems like a scam. This is not mentioned during signing up for a new account. Another youtuber referred to this as paying for "connects," which I'm not not very familiar with.

    • @WanderlustmovementOrg
      @WanderlustmovementOrg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From what I understand, their reasoning behind charging for connects is to stop people from spamming every single job post. They want you to be mindful and only apply to jobs you're a good fit for. This gives the client aka the job poster fewer applications to sort through and a better pool of candidates.

    I have created a gig in fiverr but unfortunately i noticed it is not showing due to a maintanace issue..
    Now i desperately looking for orders just a specific clarification from you..
    Is it required to pay upwork at the time we register or after the payment recieved once the job is done?

      Hey! I've never used Fiverr before because of the low rates on the site. With Upwork, you have to buy credits from the site and then use those to apply for a position. So there is no guarantee that you'll get the gig. Have you looked at the remote work job boards blog post in my description box? Those are mainly sites that don't require you to pay anything to apply for jobs.

    Ridiculous business decision to charge people up front for just trying to get a job. You already charge a commission, so that upfront charge might discourage people which means less revenue for you.

    What a dumb argument, you expect me to work for peanuts? I sent in like 10 application to very menial tasks and set my rates to 20$, no replies not even for the listings which offer jobs for low fixed fees.
