I love eating octopus, especially Takoyaki, although I do feel kind of guilty because octopuses are so intelligent. (The plural of octopus isn't octopi, incidentally, only Latin root words are pluralised that way, whereas octopus is a Greek root word so the correct term would be either octopuses or octopodes.) Also the soap looks great, love the stamp and the scent sounds amazing. I would buy a bar but I checked before and the shipping to Australia is like $90. I absolutely love your designs and watching your videos though!

Came to say essentially the same. Octopus in sushi or as a ceviche cocktail with shrimp is a guilty pleasure. After seeing "My Octopus Teacher" (😭) I didn't eat it for a long time.
That's the only thing stopping me from ordering. I am in a rural part of Aus, and just out of curiosity, checked (yesterday) how much it would be to get three bars and a container of lotion shipped down here. Would have been right at 60 AUD. As much as I'd love to try some of her soaps, I can't afford that much in shipping right now.

Love this soap. I collect anything octopus/kraken/cephlapod related. I even have an octopus tattoo. My cats are also affectionatly refered to as The Krakens. When they were young I kept them in a spare room and locked them in at night for the first few weeks for safety. When I would wake up in the morning I would announce it was time to "realease the krakens!"
That’s so cute! When my dog is getting a bath and she’s all done dad or I (whoever is giving her a bath) will say “release the kraken!” When she jumps out because she is so cranky 😂

I live on the Puget Sound in WA. Krakens are part of our local culture here on the sound, and legend has it there is one that lurkes beneath the Tacoma Narrows Bridge! Folklore aside, the world's largest species of octopus does live in that area.
I love when you use the color Tempest! My daughter’s name is Temperance and she’s quite dramatic, so we’ve started using the phrase, “You’re being Tempish” if she or someone else is being dramatic. Tempest is close enough that my heart gets happy every time I hear it on your channel ❤️

QOTD: yes, I'm Italian but I think in Europe in general is a common thing, to answer it's tasty but to have a good texture you have to know how to cook it properly, quite like cuttlefish (it should be soft, not gummy). Much love!
It's not common in the northern part of Europe. I think it's more common around the Mediterranean.

You have had SO MANY designs that I have loved but couldn't necessarily justify shipping on for one bar in a release, but so far...almost every single one of this collection's soaps are my aesthetic which like never happens anywhere. Such a beautimous release, Katie.

Omg Katie, I'm going to cry. Ever since I was a kid in the 1980s, yes I'm old, I've always had this memory of a cartoon that I watched with gemstone based princesses that walked through forests made of silver and gold, and I could never remember what it was called or what it was based on and I assumed it was just a one-off cartoon from my childhood that stuck with me. But once you mentioned the 12 dancing princesses I looked it up on Wikipedia and started to realize that this was what I was remembering! So what I'm saying is thank you for helping jog my memory and also thank you for ensuring that I stay up and extra 3 hours tonight scouring TH-cam for uploaded 1980s cartoons lol if I can ever find this cartoon, all die happy 😂

I've had takoyaki (octopus balls, a Japanese snack food you usually find at special events like fairs) and they are SO. DELICIOUS. They're cooked in there so the texture isn't as chewy. I love to have lots of green onions and mayo on mine!
If you're gonna try octopus I recommend fried. I have tried it in a lot of ways and I love it but fried is a good start to it. Also calamari is AMAZING!

I love octopus pickled, here in Tasmania we have amazing pickled baby octopus. It's picked then packaged in olive oil, slivers of sundried tomato and herbs. It tastes amazing.

I am Greek. All sea food things are my things! I really LOVE octopus! If you decide to try it, try is grilled or in red sauce. If it is done nicely, you will love it! Sometimes, if it is not very well cooked, it can get chewy.
By the way, it is funny how the video gets even more enjoyable when you are obviously excited (like when you stamp these soaps)! It is contagious, you know! I am not a soap maker, but I love your videos, because they make me feel better when I am down! Thank you!

Purple, the best colour! Yes, I love octopus. My hubby likes it steamed and chewy, I love it in the little round pastry balls.
The mica line made it look really interesting and beautiful, it was probably different in person but I love how it looks on camera.
It's so nice to see an unapologetically glittery soap again, I missed this.
Just a thought for Halloween, perhaps the more playful side of the holiday would be a theme to explore
I used this soap during Halloween spooky season, and found the soap suds ended up in black/purple streaks on my skin which I thought was SO cool! They all washed off perfectly fine without staining or anything. Just a fun feature that I really enjoyed this last month and a half.

Whenever we have repair persons over (or whomever needs to be in our house but isn't related to us) my mother and I tell the other to summon the kraken, which is her shih tzu that isn't used to men and likes to bark at them while they're trying to work.

Re: "spooky soaps" I would love to see a Halloween carnival type of soap with a black base and then a drop swirl with neon purple, orange, and green. Then the typical soap frosting with two different colors (because it kind of reminds me of the canopy big top of a circus) with bright gumballs on top and glitter. It takes the stereotypical Halloween colors and transforms them into a fun carnival style lol

Ooh the stamp looks great! As a lover of all things purple, as well as Ursula, and an August birthday, I looooove this one! I've had octopus and it's very chewy. Also now that I know how smart they are I don't want to eat them. Oh - when you were texturizing it looked like purple pudding (whatever that is!)

Tell them the theme of the collection but then they can choose colours, fragrance, embeds, hightop or artisan etc. And just see what happens! Would love to see it!

Two things: yes, have had octopus a few times, and some I liked and some not. Its all in how it's prepared, and seasoned with. It has no taste, so it takes on what its cooked in.
And two: you don't like creepy, but would you do a Disney Haunted Mansion inspired soap for spooky season?

I've always loved Ursula and she's always reminded me of my grandmother. Lol. No, my grandmother is not an antagonist but she is a no nonsense person and probably hair resemblance does it for me. Possibly a bit grumpy... my mom says when I was little I used to her call her "grumpy grandma" but I love her so much!
Oh and yes, I've tried octopus... I did not like it.
Ursula is the best Disney villain every and you definitely did her justice! I absolutely love the colours on the top layer in particular - it would be amazing if you could make that layer thicker. Though I also love the stamp, so. :)
I tried octopus at a wedding rehearsal dinner in Vermont years ago, and I chewed and swallowed so fast, I never really got the taste. All I kept thinking was, "Oh my gosh, I've got octopus in my mouth...". 🤤😝 I love the soap, as always. 💞💝

I'm so excited to pick this up for my sister! She has an aquatic themed bathroom, an ocean mural along her stairwell I painted for her and her favorite movie is The Little Mermaid. QOTD: OCTOPUS IS THE BEEEEEEST! I'm from Puerto Rico so seafood is big for us. I lived on a coastal town growing up so my mom would take my brother and I after school on Fridays for a little seafood and octopus salad was always my fave. Now I live in a Greek neighborhood and Octopus is still big. Prepared differently to what I grew up eating, and just incredibly delicious!

I had it when I was a kid and LOVED IT! As an adult, it turned into a texture thing, a tentacle touched my tongue and I freaked out and never ate it again.

QOTD: Yes, I've had calamari, deep fried. Anything deep fried is yum, lol! But in all honesty, it's all in the cooking. Make sure it's cooked properly, and it's great. It shouldn't be rubbery.

Chewy calamari usually means it was previously frozen. Fresh calamari isn't very chewy at all. I don't like frozen seafood much because of that chewy texture it gets.

As an Ursula fan, I wholeheartedly approve. Now I have Poor Unfortunate Souls playing in my head. BTW STAY AWAY FROM OCTOPUS!! 1 little piece will be chewed for hours...and expands as you chew. Imagine salty rubber and that pretty much sums up Octopus and squid.
