I think there’s a problem in believing in the #3 view, the “ethnic Israel majority” view, because that would mean that salvation is somewhat based on ethnicity. It would mean that ethnic Jews have some kind of special status before God, more so than any other ethnic group. We now know that the “New People” of God under the “New Covenant” are considered the people of God, not because of their ethnicity, nationality, or who their ancestors were, but because of their faith in Christ. That’s why I think the #1 view, the “spiritual Israel (jews & gentiles)” view is correct because the people of God is made up of people from all nations, all ethnicity’s.

Hi guys, nice job. I am also an adherent to progressive covenantalism and recently did more of a good natured polemic video opposing premillenialism (both dispensational and historic) from PC viewpoint. It was in response to some other pastor friends of mine who hold to historic premillenialism. In that video I also covered some of the very same issues in Romans 11. However, I think the exegesis of that passage is slightly different. I won't expound here, but you can find it on that video. It's entitled "Premillenialism: A Detraction from the Centrality of Christ." If you fee so inclined, I'd love to get your feedback and network with others in the PC camp. Blessings.

    Great video!
All important doctrines are bound together. And in the case of 'children of the promise,' those are the ones who God has known from the foundation of the world. THEY are the "Lost Sheep" Jesus came to seek and save. Jesus did not come to turn goats into sheep. His sheep are ALREADY His sheep, from among Jews and Gentiles. And "all that the Father gives me WILL come to me." Every single one of them! Jesus said "Of all the Father has given me I shall lose none."
THIS is what is meant in 2 Peter 3:9 when he says "God is not willing that ANY should perish."
Any who? HIs SHEEP, as we see in Matthew 18:14. The ones who are lost.
Jesus even tells the Jews in John 10 the REASON you do not believe is BECAUSE you are not my sheep!
Jesus does not say "The reason you are not my sheep is because you do not believe. That is to say, if you would just believe, THEN you would be my sheep!
No, being a sheep is the prerequisite for believing/hearing Jesus!
Also, the "children of promise" are ALL that are the faith of Abraham, Jew AND Gentile
    Galatians 3:
26 So *IN CHRIST JESUS* you are all children of God through faith,
27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28 There is *neither Jew nor Gentile* neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 If you belong to Christ, (Jew or Gentile) *THEN YOU ARE* Abraham’s seed, and HEIRS according to the promise.
Also, the only reason ANY person is "The Israel of God" is because they are in Christ, the one and only true Israel (Isaiah 49:3)
Also, when Paul says "God has not rejecected His people *WHOM HE FOREKNEW*
He told us who God foreknew in Romans 8. His Elect!
Also, Paul regarding your point that "God has not rejected His people," one of the verses that dispensationalists overlook is "Israel is hardened IN PART" meaning there was and is a part that is NOT hardened. And they HAVE been coming to faith in Christ, in small numbers, "until the full number of gentiles come in." And in THIS manner ALL of God's Israel, His true Israel, those whom He called, those who "God is not willing that any should perish," will be saved!
    They cannot, NOT be saved!
And God will not close the door on the "sheep pen" (John 10)
God will not pull of the tares (Matthew 13)
God will not close the "ark" of Christ
Until ALL of His sheep, from BOTH pens are safely in.
Until the time of Harvest lest He pull up the wheat with the tares
Until ALL of His elect are safely in Christ.
And Then God's wrath will be poured out on the earth.
In Genesis 6 where God says "pitch the ark within and without with pitch" The word pitch liteally means "Atonement." "Atone the ark within and without with atonement." JESUS is our "ark" and His we are covered (pitched) with His blood to prevent the waters of God's judgement from destroying us.

Where does Romans 11 imply a massive conversion of Jews. There's certainly no literal language by the way, don't think I'm dispensational because I use the word literal. 😁

So sad to hear that you jumps right into MacArthurs and dispensationalists teaching again , saying etnisity saves in the end, after all.
Paul writes that he more than anyone could bost of his works , his knowledge, his jewish education, what he is in himself, but he threw it away as garbage !
Worth nothing. He was indeed a jew, but it counted as nothing , his only hope was the same as for the gentiles .
And he teaches that the jews where broken of by disbelieve, and gentiles put in by believe. And visa versa.
He teaches that Gods Israel is a spiritual Israel, made by spiritual born children of God .
And that Jesus made these two (jews & gentiles) ONE with His own body . He teared down the partition and made those two ONE.
But today you two separates these two again, builded a new wall between jews snd gentiles and created a different way to salvation for etnic jews again.
    Dont you SEE ;
The HOLE ISRAEL IN ROMANS 11 is ALL of the saved gentiles AND ALL of the saved jews
    …that turnes away from their false god’s ? !
This way ALL of Gods Israel will be saved .
Why spending chapter by chapter telling uss who is the true israelites and who is not ?!
Gods people are spiritually born !
As in Noahs days….not many was saved !

Yes, I agree with you. They are absolutely wrong. They probably think that the "jews" who occupy Israel and the world are actually ethnic, having some kind of blood relationship to Abraham. They have about as much Abrahamic blood in them as I do.

Zechariah talks about a third of the Jewish people being saved, that’s still a remnant, what’s the point of a hardening in part if the part that was hardened would not be softened later? It wouldn’t be part at all

We can think we understand why and what God will do .
But our responsibility is to read His word and believe it.
God has NOT told His prophets or Apostles to write down to us in the bible that there will be a mass revival in the end. Anywhere on earth. Not at all.
Infact there is written quite opposite ; most people on earth will fall away from beliving and perish. Luc.18:8 tells us that Jesus wonder if He will find anyone that belive in him while coming back ?!
God told in O.T. He had a rest of 7000 than, and Paul writes that there was a rest in his time too.
But Paul clearifies that circumcision on the body didnt count anymore, it had to be a circumcision on the heart.
He also makes a point by telling that NOT all of Israel is Israel.
      There are two different kind of people here ;
The etnic people and the spiritual .
The etnic people that puts their faith in their etnisity, will perish . Just like everybody else in this world.
But the people that puts their faith in Jesus Christ, He who IS the true and only perfect Israel, they will live for ever , because they are citizens of the new Jerusalem that is NOT made by men, but by God!
The bible also says that if you dont have the Son, than you dont have God.
The earthly Israel of today do not have the Son.
But jealousy might do that they turn away from their gods and to Jesus…?
      I really do hope so.
      Isaiah 59:20 says :
«….the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto THEM THAT TURN AWAY from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.»
There is and was always a «if» , when God promised anything to the old Israel.
And there still is, according to Pauls letters.
If a mass revival happens in the end, God would tell us in His word!
      And He have not !

Paul proves you are correct in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9, and 2 Thess. 1:7-10. Paul warns us against using "genealogies" in our faith in the first two passages. In the last passage Paul said Christ returns "in flaming fire" taking vengeance on those who do not obey the Gospel. There is no Plan B of salvation based on race in this passage. Plan A is found below. All races of people need to hear the Gospel now before it is too late for them?
New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many Christians cannot honestly answer the first three questions below?
Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary.

Which of the two different Israels in Romans 9:6-8 was Paul talking about? Israel of the flesh or Israel of the promise?
Romans Chapter 11: In its New Covenant context... There is no Plan B of salvation outside of the New Covenant Church in this passage. Plan A is found in verses 23 and 24.
In Romans 1:16 Paul said the Gospel was taken "first" to the Jews. This time period can be found in Matt. 10:5-7, and Acts 10:36-38, and Gal. 1:14-18. Many try to claim God never gave the Jews a chance to accept Christ, so there must be some Plan B of salvation before or during the Second Coming of Christ. Romans 1:16 proves they are wrong, since Paul said the Gospel went "first" to the Jews. Many ignore the fact that Peter addressed the crowd as "men of Judea", and as "men of Israel", and as "all the house of Israel" on the Day of Pentecost, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. The Gentiles were not grafted in until several years later. This passage proves Paul was right about the Gospel being taken "first" to the Jews.
Were all of the Israelites "partially" hardened in Romans 11, or were part hardened and another part were not hardened? The answer is found in the "remnant" of Romans 11:5.
Paul reveals two different groups of Israelites in Romans 9:6-8. There is an Israel of the promise, and an Israel of the flesh. This is part of the context of Romans 11.
Paul speaks about the "remnant" of Israel in Romans 9:27. This is also part of the context of Romans 11.
Paul starts Romans 11 with two different groups of Israelites. In verse one Paul reveals he is still an Israelite, even after his conversion. Then Paul refers to two different groups of Israelites during the time of Elijah. There were the Baal worshippers, and there was the faithful "remnant". In verse five Paul says there is also a faithful "remnant" of Israelites during his time. This must be the Israelites who have accepted Christ, as on the Day of Pentecost.
Paul uses the two olive trees as a symbol of the New Covenant Church made up of believing Israelites, and believing Gentiles grafted together into the same tree. The unbelieving Israelites have been broken off but can be grafted back in through faith in Christ in verses 23-24.
Verse 26 is the problem for many modern Christians. What does the verse actually say, and how is it changed by many in the modern Church.
I have heard two of our nations famous preachers say the following.
"And then all Israel will be saved..."
I have heard another say the following.
"And all Israel will be saved..."
What does God's Word, recorded by the Apostle Paul actually say?
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
The English word "so" is translated from the Greek word "houto", which is an adverb of manner, instead of an adverb of timing. Some have changed the word from "so" to "then", in order to change the meaning of the verse.
How will all of the "remnant" of Israel from Romans 9:27 be saved? The answer is found in the verses that precede verse 26 and are found below.
Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
Rom 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
Paul quoted from the OT in referring to the Deliverer coming out of Sion to pay for sin. Did this happen at Calvary, or will Jesus die again for His people in the future?
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Verse 28 can only be understood by looking at how Paul started the passage. He started with two different groups of Israelites and he ends the passage in the same way. There are two different groups of "they" in verse 28. One group of "they" reject Christ and are the enemies of God, and another group of "they" are the election which accept Christ through hearing the Gospel and faith.
Rom 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Based on Luke 21:24b-28, the times of the Gentiles comes to fullness at the Second Coming of Christ. This agrees with what Paul said in Romans 1:16 about the Gospel going “first” to the Jews...

On isaiah 49.6 apply this verse to eternity not the present time!
The heavenly Jerusalem has Gods Glory and is therefore light and home ot the "Servant" in eternity. Revelation 21:10-11
Children of God have Gods Glory as well and are light and seated on the throne with Christ in Gods temple in eternity.

The cut off date for National Israel was 70 AD. Paul said only a remnant were saved under Grace as he saw it, the same as the Old Covenant. He didn't say, but not to worry, they all will be saved millennia later.
    Romans 11:5 KJV
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
