  • Jesus' own people, the Jews, had rejected Him, but the apostle Paul wanted to be clear about one important thing in his letter to the Romans: God was not done with the nation of Israel. In this study, Skip Heitzig begins to lay out God's plans for His chosen people, as explained by Paul, and you'll discover why this is significant for you today.
This teaching is from the series 45 Romans - 2021 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

God's desire is for all men to be saved.
For all to hear the gospel.
Go out into all the world and share the gospel.
He is the Savior of all men.

I heard His message March 5,1980.
    Wages if sin was death.
While I was a sinner Jesus died for me.
I was told to confess with my mouth and believe in the Gospel.
That it was by faith in His death and resurrection not by my works I would be saved.
I heard "for God so loved the world and sent His only begotten Son that Whoever believes (when called, upon hearing) will be saved.
That that day was a New Creation.
I did not understand all that day but by faith believed along w my girlfriend at that time.
We did not even know Jesus was God.
That we were given a gift.
Offered to us. We took the gift. We did go forward and we're prayed with.
She did not even know who Mary and Joseph were.
I did w my Catholic background.
We later went out separate ways.
I met my wife 5 years later at my Bible study which I was late to.But. Not too late.
38 yrs. Later my wife and I are not in a church building but NMCalvary is our church for now.
Not one church here in Bend teaches quite like this.

They were CHOSEN or elected even before the creation of the world for a great and very important purpose, so that the perfect plan of eternal salvation will be fulfilled and realized in God's appointed time.
They were chosen unto SERVICE, NOT unto salvation. Chosen to be a nations (Gen 25:23) kings like David and Solomon (1 Chron 29:1,1 King 1), prophets (Jer 1:1) Apostles (Gal 1:1,15), Savior (1 Pet 1:19-20, 2:4) and many more
Chosen UNTO SERVICE, NOT FOR ETERNAL SALVATION.
That GOD choose NOT the first born like Isaac, not Ishmael and Jacob, not Esau because from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, God's Messiah will born from the 12 tribes in the line of Judah. That's why God said to Paul, not all Israel is Israel (Rom 9:6), because the lineage and the covenant of God thru Moses, specially to Abraham is the lineage of the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob).
God is Sovereign in His election to Isaac instead of Ishmael, Jacob instead of Esau for His perfect plan of our salvation the whole world thru His Son Jesus, who died once and for ALL, WHOSOEVER BELIEVES (Jn 3: 14-17. Eph 1:13, Rom 1:16 and so many more)
God did not spare His Son to die for ALL SINNERS (Jews/ Greeks) but so sad, many will reject the Gospel of salvation because of their pride and unbelief willingly.
GOD DID NOT elec for eternal salvation, Jesus His Beloved Only Begotten Son is one of His Elect, not for salvation but to be a Savior.

But in this context (Romans 9) it's about salvation, right? Because Romans 9 follows the ideas of Romans 8. In Romans 8 talks about salvation.

Come on skip it's not that people shouldn't be excited about being chosen it's the fact that if you're not chosen for salvation that's what you're bummed about because there's nothing you can do. God has elected you for hell. That's what we should be bummed about because it changes the nature and character of the God of the Bible.

The holy Spirit convicts but not all respond.
In Paul's case, God definitely chose him as a chosen vessel to get the message to the Gentiles.
He is part of the History of God's salvation plan in the Bible. So we're the Apostles.
Jesus was predestined by God to be our Savior. Right?
The message was predestined. His birth and death was predestined. Right?
It was all part of the predestined Story of Our God and Savior. Of the church. Of Israel to be His People Chosen by Him.

Israel was chosen for salvation no they were chosen to be a blessing to the nations has nothing to do with salvation. Neither does election or chosen in scripture have anything to do with being saved.

I can't believe a calvary chapel is preaching calminism.
God sovereignly sees all who freely put their faith in Christ. Having 4 knowledge does not equate to picking someone for salvation.

  • @paultrosclair1775
    @paultrosclair1775 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The calvinist so-called doctrine of election is not found anywhere in Romans chapter 9 through 11(nor anywhere else in scripture) .
Through clearly stating that this is about Israel and their purpose as a nation, you then want to make this chapter about individual salvation of people today ?
I don't think so. You are inserting Calvinist dogma into this and ignoring what the context is obviously talking about.

I disagree with the way Calvinists describe this topic. But no matter what you can’t deny what Romans 9 says. God is still saying he is electing. Who receives mercy or not.
He’s clearly stating God has full sovereignty over man’s will, not man. Which completely applies to all mankind to who has faith or who does not -God is a sovereign God, not man. No one chooses above God.
From your perspective there is no other way to spin this except to say that you believe that God is not fully sovereign over man and man elects for himself above God.

Calvinist or Biblical? God's people WERE elected. Paul clearly (and Skip) states not JUST Israel but Gentile as well (9:24). Dude teaches straight outta the NKJV - this calvinism thing sounds manmade to me. Remember Ferris Bueller: ANY isms are bad. Christianity is not an ism. "Eisegesis", huh? Sounds like transferrance to me. I'll take a guy with 2 phDs in Theology - maybe you should stick to insincere Osteen, Furtick or any other shady creep with 3 lamborghinis and a $10M palatial estate?

Either Jesus died for everyone, the whole world, for all those who choose to believe OR he died for few, his special chosen ones. Whichever side one believes in is a distorted gospel than the other side. Choose wisely, my brothers and sisters!

It was with great agony that I watched this for over 20 minutes. To watch you weasel around in order to circumvent one of the most powerful chapters in the bible, for what?
You mentioned "the people you can't criticize or you will get censored", starts with j, dozens of times, although that word is only written once in these passages. Odd. You laid out the promises, the glory, the law, prophets, and even Christ, but you did not mention the covenants! That is where you couldn't weasel. For a covenant is between two parties. We know the first covenant was with Israel, so if both covenants belong to the same people, then your lies about " those people who killed our savior", and their savior hasn't come yet, then it exposes your hypocrisy.
The truth is, Romans 9 reveals the racial exclusivity of whom God loves, and its not "those" people. Its the race of people known by Isaac's name, which are Saxons.
"Those" people you mentioned countless times are anti-Christs, demons, children of satan. The parable of the Wheat and Tares, in Jesus' explanation, it is clear that "those" people are the ones Satan planted on this earth, and the racially pure Saxons are whom God planted.
Its easy enough to witness today. "They" are in every position of power, and we are being discriminated against, being genocided, being hated, etc. For our race and our Christianity. Jesus said "they" will hate us because they hated him first.
When you know the truth, watching you squirm in your seat trying to manipulate these words into meaning the opposite of what they clearly mean is priceless. May your soul burn!
