Paul's death is by far to me probably the most shocking. I knew he was gonna die. But idk. Deaths in Mushoku Tensei just feel different from deaths in other anime. I guess they just seem to have far more impact.

I knew it in the episode before the death one, when he got angry with rudeus and then calmed down. Deaths and tragic moments in mushoku tensei are very well directed.

Tbh paul was really such a great personification of how i have seen dads are.
They are extremely skilled, have amazing connections, but often get hot headed and egoistic.

Paul was flawed in many ways but I think that’s what made me like his character more because despite his flaws he worked to be a better person and in the end he achieved what he wanted if he were a bad father rudeus wouldn’t be so hurt about it imo

Agree. I still hate the fact he cheated on Zenith but the way he is still trying to improve himself really got to me. And I think this is the first time I feel like a character's death really impacted MC's development. His death is just not there to somehow 'develop' Rudeus, his death actually changes Rudeus whole perspective on some many things and I really like that.🎉

heavy spoilers so only read the rest of this if your ok with that. zenith can no longer speak but its found out later she developed a telepathic ability so she knows whats going on and can communicate with other telepaths.
@@utoobguy3041Yeah and she didn't really lose her memories. They learn she can talk telepathically because of lara (rudeus and roxy's daughter). Lara inherited the Migurd's race ability of telepathy unlike her mother.
@@utoobguy3041 She's also in a dreamlike state for the rest of her life, hence a lot of the mumbling. There are very few moments where her personality shows through before she returns to the dreamlike blank state. Also in addition to being telepathic, when she looks someone in the eyes, she can see their memories. It's possible when she looked at Rudy after waking up, not only did she recognize him but saw what happened to Paul.
i just hope norn wont get mad at rudeus its their episode that also made me shed a tear and they reconcile. i hope this isnt a turning point for them once more

It took the death of his second father to make Rudy acknowledged the fact that he was a horrible son to his previous parents. Because when he became a shut in his parents still loved and tolerated him and he turned even father to leave his room just to attend their funeral. This is reality in visual medium. You can't adapt everything. The only thing you can do is read the source material which has all the complete information. I did and I love the novels more than the anime ngl, even if the anime produced the greatest episode in history lol.

It's this kind of thing people will ignore and just call rudeus a trash character but he learns and grows overtime and is actually a pretty decent and self reflective guy if a little pervy at times.
It's less that people ignore it but more of people either forgetting about it or the anime not adapting certain things

@@dunkbuscusgaming7016 isn't that part still canon in the anime? His brother looked pretty disgusted at what he was doing. Rudeus was never really meant to be seen as a victim anyways. He'll still have that aspect of him but Rudeus in the beginning is shown to be a piece of shit but can become better. Itn my opinion it's better for them no to hold back on what the light novel wants to show so that the point can really come across. In the instance of the creepy shit Rudeus did it's fine, but with how they handled Rudeus and Roxy falling in love is pretty bad. They gave Sylphy almost half a season but Roxy can only be given 3 to 4 episodes. If I wasn't reading comments of light novel readers or watched the skipped content videos on youtube, I'd probably be confused or miffed with how Rudeus acts.
