People seem to underestimate rudeus as a person. The dude held his family together even when he's still young. Helped Lilia, too care of his siblings, helped his dad find people, and so on. Bro is literally the 2nd father of the greyrats, that's why Paul is proud of him. The series would be different if you stopped looking at rudy as a teen fat reincarnator but as a father. The series is not about redemption, it's about starting all over again. The only important part we need to know is rudy was a bum, that's it. Why did y'all think across all thr novels we didn't even get to know his old name? Cause he wants to move away from that place

They fought the hydra without proper planning. They went in the hydra room full of emotions, esp. Paul when he saw his wife. He came running head on not thinking about his team and son. No one in the group even dared to be logical and thought about scouting the boss first, gauge it if there group members are sufficient or capable of defeating it or would they need additional members. Time was their ally that time. But then again, that was how the author wrote the story, so...
I agree, tho I couldn't blame Paul for getting impatient when he finally found Zenith and in such state
But when they first retreated, I thought that it would have been better to call it a day and get a proper break, then do some more planning first, especially when they know it counters mage at long range
Rudeus especially needed it because he was inexperienced ( first dungeon, first guardian fight and it is S rank threat ), but other properly didn't realize it as much and put in more expectations on him, since he gave a lot of good suggesting and discovered things more than them perhaps 😢
I think this was a smart author move since this explains why hitogami said if rudeus didn't help his father he would have saved zenith 2 years later without dying although we know that would come with the death of roxy and thus lara wouldn't be born.

What elinalise and roxy did was basically the same as a dude approaching a completetly drunk women and sleeping with her.
In our society people would call this rape since the women was unable to really give consent. That goes for trauma too and rudeus definetly had one.
Rudeus considers her a goddes since the very beginning. She was his first love and she respected him a lot. Like seriously, he risked the life of everyone else just to save her. He even said it himself that he loves her and Sylphie equally - and you saw how he doesn't have a problem sleeping with people - either hookers or a friend.
Don't speak about trauma, cause it's incredibly personal what hurts people. Most people wouldn''t care at all to be dumped after a night, but Rudy became suicidal and stopped trusting any new women emotionally. Above all you should all stop thinking about their world in the "western society" standards! Have you noticed that they drink as little kids, have s*x and marriage underage and poligamy is allowed? Maybe stop putting everything into a category of good/bad and think about how the characters actually feel and react.

It is killing me waiting for the last several episodes to be dubbed so I can watch the rescue of zenith/Paul's Heroic Demise And the Reuniting of Rudy and Roxy....The Dubs always came in the Monday after Airing But it's been nothing since ep 18 then suddenly the dubs came in now the last 2 are left hanging whou know's when....just can't stand the infantalized Japanese voices. I can handle chinese or korean but Japanese just sounds like everone's inhaling helium....just my perspective not being critical, you do you, i just can't take it.

The Demon eye is good, but it's not all-seeing nor all-powerful and has many weaknesses that a strong Battle Aura aka Touki (something Rudeus lacks) often times proves better at. Like knowing the Hydra was still alive, moving, and ready to attack.
Rudeus has to rely on our same senses. While those with Battle Aura have what is effectively Spidey sense. They can feel killing intent from far away.

It could've been avoided if he kept behind Paul, used his demon eye and used a wind skill, like the other guy here said earlier. He was negligent and the cost was his father's life and a hand. Well dude got tricked and pressured. Dont forget he was at his lowest and elinalise used that moment so that roxy could sleep with him. In real life this would be considered rape since one side was mentally not able to fully consent. Then on top of that elinalise lied to rudeus that roxy is now pregnant. So really what else should he do beside telling the truth. Keeping it a secret will make things only worse even if its for a while.
Welp blame Elinalise for that. Elinalise convinced Roxy to commit the thing with Rudy. And she told Rudy thay Roxy is possibly pregnant which made him feel like he need to be responsible.

Also rudeus is an human who has an unique coping mechanism. Well to be honest its not that unique. But basicly he Deals with trauma and negative emotions through sexual relief. Now this is evident in his past life where he got litreally put on a cross naked Infront of the whole school. And he already was insecure about his looks that was just trauma at this point. As an result He shut himself in for 15 years and jerked off(notice he was alone in that moment his friend visiting a few times doesent count.) In the dark timeline after losing everything. he did the same but worse. Because this trauma was worse where he lost everything he went down the path of turning into an rapist, asshole, murderer and destroyed nanahoshis life just to bang her(also jerked off the whole time and banged hoes). He copes with loss through sexual relief. And the diffrence from those 2 times were. He was doing it with an person he loves. Meaning this intimacy wasnt based on lust but an need for comfort and warmth and gentle Touch. Something that he desperatly needed or else he would have went south mentally with his brain. He of course had to marry her because she was pregnant there were no condoms then and he cant expect roxy to abort thats already killing a child.

It waited until they had grouped up and then all the headless necks started to whip and coil all around the hydra Rudeus was unable to react in time thus paul saved him. It was also Rudy's first time joining labyrinth run. so you can't really epxect him to out perform everyone else.
