The good thing about Koreans being able to speak English on a decent level is that it's convenient for tourists and gives off a more welcoming vibe. The downsides is that many long term residents in Korea never bother learning Korean and expect everyone to just speak English to them.
@@MiKole86 Lol A lot of those Koreans only want to learn English so they semi try to take advantage of you. It's up to you how you treat or develop a relationship with them. It can be just harmless practice but they can be a pain sometimes because a lot of them don't bother developing personal relations with you and only use you to train their English
Umm, I'm not sure about that. Yes, there are many Koreans that speak English very well, since many people study abroad, but otherwise regular people don't speak that well. Koreans I met were usually very poor at speaking, and I'd say the same is applicable to Japanese people. They are good at reading, but not good at speaking.
I might have to make that trip to both Korea and Japan. Tbh you were the main reason I even got interested in seeing what Asia had to offer, because I never really even thought about that part of the world too much.

You know what, I’ve been staying in canada to study English and I met a lot of Japanese at that time. Most of them were soooooo kind and friendly. I always thought Japanese people are boring but it wasn’t. I met a lot of friends who are from all over the world as well as I made many Japanese friends, but the people who got along well until the end were Japanese. Now, I’m in Korea but I still keep in touch with my 日本人 friends. Also few of my friends visit korea to spend time with me, and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go to Japan to have good memories. PS. Kinda true. Korea is more fun at night Japan has more sightseeing places during the daytime Young generations prefer Korea because of Kpop concerts and etc and old generations prefer Japan because it’s more quiet and tourists friendly.
You mention that you won't see any piece of trash on the road, but it's not always true. For example, Shinjuku or Shibuya, I think these are two of the most dirty citys in Japan. Of course, other cities are so clean. The reason I mentioned those two cities is that many tourists will visit there, so I don't want them to think that Japan is not so clean. Maybe just Shinjuku and Shibuya! Thanks.
my mother really wants me to be an exchange student in seoul or tokyo and i’m not sure which to pick! this video helped me build pros and cons on both places so thank you!
I am Japanese, but I love Korea. 🇰🇷💖 Japan and Korea have many problems in history and politics. Although there was an atomic bomb drop in World War II, I hope that we can have good relations with South Korea like Japan and the United States. We need to hold hands so that sad history does not repeat.
As a korean, I think wining about history is the most stupid thing to do...but Japan should really teach history right. Japanese living today are not reponsible for the things their ancestors did, but it doesn't mean they can be ignorant about it because it's not just the problem of the past but of entire japanese society. Btw I love Japan too
Didn't know trashcan-less street is also a thing in Japan, and it's still that clean! I heard somebody's advocating Korea can't be as clean as Japan because we have no public trashcan policy :p
I think it could be as clean. The government would seriously have to focus on making the streets look better and encouraging people with incentives probably. I hope they can because I really love living here!
Japan cleans the streets twice a day. and korea cleans the streets once a day. that is difference. and If you go to the busy and crowded streest in Japan, there are the same. full of trash there
Korea is much better in living standard, culture, food, tranport, safety. In fact, mostly. I shocked knew that take home pay in japan. I just tell the truth. I don't hate japan.
Even live in tiny village South Korea. A couple hundred peoe live in the village. We can go there with transport(just Train and bus without Taxi) from Incheon International Airport. maybe i need to walk half mile. Sometimes see a doctor and get medicines is faster than get a bigmac meal at American McDonald's. Also cheaper. But i don't know about japan yet. So i can't tell which country is better.
Nope I love korea but it is a very harsh place to live in (also japan) SO EVERYBODY COME TO SPAIN WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE NICE AND NOT A RACIST. REALLY BELIEVE ME THIS PLACE IS THE BEST
Dude I always wanted to go to Japan but looking into it, living in Korea would be easier and more realistic. Maybe cheaper too. And it's right next to Japan so you can take a quick flight over. Only thing is how easy is it to just move there. Getting a visa, working, etc. Japan I know is strict, so I wonder how South Korea is in that area. It's interesting that they have a lot of American food chains there too, but some of the best have issues getting locations in America. Forget Asia. Zaxbys is only a thing in the south really, i live in New York and I looked around on Google and it seems like there's none at all in the north east. It's a shame because I worked at one in Florida for like... A day (lmao) their food is good but pricy. Chick-fil-A is possible tho. But still theyre not gonna touch the international market at least not yet. I gotta get some money and take a trip to Seoul some day. It seems hella fun there
Seoul is legit fun. I will always love Japan, but one of my good buddies in the video LOVES coming over to Korea. I normally go to Japan once a year and it costs around $300 dollars. A lot of the footage I used in the video was my own from traveling. First drink is on me whenever you show up over here.
Txmj122 I was born and raised in Japan and of course love my home country but I really love Korea too. I fell in love with their delicious and reasonably priced food and friendly and sweet natured people. But unfortunately, no one I met in Korea spoke English when I visited. Maybe it’s quintessential since this video says otherwise. To me that was the only difficulty I had about visiting Korea. I wish I spoke a little more Korean so I could have communicated with the locals better... I am starting to learn the language so it will be easier the next time I visit. So my recommendation is to study useful phrases before you go. By the way, you can say the same thing about Japan as far as the English ability of the locals goes. But as long as you are in big cities like Tokyo, all of the signs have multi language translations, so getting by shouldn’t be too hard.

What you saying is true. Korea tourism is really bad, like you mentioned no culture and food is not easy. On the otherhand Japan, sushi is easy and culture is polular. To be honest I love both countries. Indeed I am interested in the story and culture of those countries. Actually I planned to move there and to study when I am 19. Still I have no clue which country I should choose for that. The real reason I want to live there is because I want to find myself and experience something new. Seeing how others are living differently compared to me is very interesting. I am aware of that when I move to one of those countries that it will not be easy for me. Getting stared by others or getting rude comments, financial and that stuff isn‘t easy. Still I want to risk anything to experience that and let my dream come true. I live once and want to try it. If anyone has experience with studying or living in Japan or Korea, please tell me your story about it or how it was. It would interest me a lot. thank you!
Korea is a super civilized country with high technology however, we have many disabilities such as the temperature or the weather differences. You can have lots of fun in Korea with our histories and technology but I still would recommend going to Japan (not trying to be mean to my country). Can’t forget that one trip to Akihabara in Tokyo +Edit: I might seem to be a weeb, yes I am but remember I am looking at both countries equally. I absolutely love both countries. KOREA has stolen my heart♥️ but I’d travel to both countries, why pick?!
The good thing about Koreans being able to speak English on a decent level is that it's convenient for tourists and gives off a more welcoming vibe. The downsides is that many long term residents in Korea never bother learning Korean and expect everyone to just speak English to them.
大Jang Truth. I struggle with that right now! I love speaking Korean but some people on focused on only talking to me in English.
Mikey Darko REALLY?! I am beyond happy to hear that! You know, there is so much over here that I never expected to experience. Leaving the States was the best decision I ever made. I miss my family but I would have never experienced the things that I did if I never left.
@@MiKole86 Facts bruh. I've been following you for a couple of years now, and you had caught my attention way back then because you and maybe three other guys, were the only black dudes on youtube, I saw making videos about life in Korea. For a while I was hesitant about making the trip over there because
1. I didn't know shit about any Asian countries
2. Because I'm black and tatted, I wouldn't really be able to blend Into the local population like I can when I'm travelling in Africa.
Actually that's a question I've had for a while. How much trouble could I run into being tatted? I've got sleeves, and I know In Japan, places will straight up deny you In certain places If you have them. Would you be able to have a guest on (preferably male) to discuss this in depth someday? Thanks bruh and The video was A-1 as always.
Mikey Darko Bruh, first off if you come this way, hit me up! I will take you around. It is nicer than you think out here. Korea is changing a lot and I would see if a brotha is open to the culture and willing to speak the language, they will be loved on by the peeps here.
As for the tats, let me see who I can get ahold of. I don’t know many brothas here with tats, but I can get someone on for ya.

Japan and Korea have many problems in history and politics.
Streets in Japan have no trash cans as well.
Japan cleans the streets twice a day. and korea cleans the streets once a day. that is difference. and If you go to the busy and crowded streest in Japan, there are the same. full of trash there
I LOVE KOREA FROM JAPAN

Korea is much better in living standard, culture, food, tranport, safety. In fact, mostly. I shocked knew that take home pay in japan. I just tell the truth. I don't hate japan.
Faster internet and spicy food, that’s about it.
So i can't tell which country is better.
hahaha BULLSHIT
Korea much better standar living? transport? safes? only idiot Koreaboo said that 😂😂
Nope I love korea but it is a very harsh place to live in (also japan) SO EVERYBODY COME TO SPAIN WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE NICE AND NOT A RACIST.
@@MiKole86 lmao sounds good if i do end up heading over, i'll hit you up. if ever, wont be for a long while..
For living, Korea is a lot more fun
For visiting, Japan is more tourists friendly.
